Any reasons why it creates an octavia octave up fuzz effect only when pinch harmonics?

I obtained one of these used last year and it has the internal controls on the outside (so four mini rotary faders the two bottom of which are not labeled). Was this a mod available from the factory on this pedal?

I have both the Havalina and this one - completely different pedals, but both are so amazing that I just can’t take them off my board.
