Cataclysm in a modern AGGRO deck. I lived to see it happen. It appears Blizzard constantly releasing cards to make an archetype that never really worked in Standard eventually got us a critical mass in Wild.
the amount of games here where people actively choose not to kill Malchezars imp is mind blowing to me, are folks not trained to murder 3 hp minions that say "draw a lot of cards"
As someone who goes for legend in both Wild and Standard, Wild is significantly easier. Generally standard players have more competitive decks while Wild players play more for fun and variety, even in high diamond. For me this equates to about a 55-65% WR in standard and a 80-90% WR in wild, up to legend.

For me at least most of the stormwind wild experience was everyone was playing questline hunter and warlock because they were both super busted, and I rarely saw anyone playing anything off meta.

Danehearth was playing this too. Get some real silly stuff when Malch Imp + Tome Tamperings discard and activate a bunch of cards, into a 1 mana Tome Tampering that also discards a bunch of cards.
I've been playing this deck, but most of the time hand of guldan feels like more of a liability than helping. There's plenty of card draw in the deck and it usually just gets in the way of discarding soul barrage

I’d you don’t pop off early then you get in range of the removal spells and life gain of renethal/druid and may not kill before fatiguing out. The way I see it, the deck has enough good discard targets and discard cards but only two good refill cards. If you take out HoG then you’re cutting that in half
Discard lock had a lot of good cards like hand of guldan, soularium, imp and expired merchant it's just that their top end of cards that affected the board that actually liked being discarded was like fist of jaraxxus. I feel like soul barrage isn't even really that great of a card it just makes the deck hit a critical mass of synergy targets to become busted lol.

The issue with the deck I’ve found is either you don’t have enough cards or you have too many. Reducing draw would solve one problem but make the other worse, and I feel like having more cards is a better problem then having none.

I don't like the imp cataclism interaction. I think the imps effect should not activate because the card died. If the argument is the discard happens first, all minions summoned should die when the destroy all minions part kicks in. It is best of both worlds and doesn't make sense.
Cataclysm marks all minions for death, discards, resolves interactions, then kills them. Usually things die at the end of card resolution unless they trigger a forced death phase which Cataclysm does not have. Changing the card so that it does would effectively destroy any utility it has currently so I doubt this will happen.
If it isn't good in standart, probably not. Also, I don't know about other people but I played against 3 discos and won them with jade druid (dew process version). I don't know if I got very lucky or if drawing them to death is what counters the deck but I won my matches with a big health advantage.

Discard zoo was tier 2 or maybe even tier 1 when outland released. It just didn't get any new cards after darkmoon so it became less and less powerful.

If the playing the quest reward had 0 mana cost then it would have been worth it. As is it's way to expansive for a deck that wants to burst people by turn 6 or 7.

I can't decide if I like 2x Wicked Whispers + 1x Cataclysm or 1x Wicked Whispers + 2x Cataclysm better.
I think 2x Cataclysm is the way to go. Wicked Whispers often felt clunky.

Hand of Gul'dan is for when you don't draw Malc's Imp. Doing Cata on 4 into a full hand for 5 is why it's in the deck.

To be fair to everyone, it was a bad card when they crapped on it. You couldn't make a full board and deal 20 damage to the opponent when you played it back then.

I feel like I'd reduce some of the card draw to one of, and have other stuff. I noticed overdrawing was a regular problem.
