Love your channel and your insight into these plugins! While I love BX stuff and I own a bunch of them, I have to say I don't know if I want that much going on as I'm mixing into the compressor. All I need is the SC filter to take out the sub-90Hz so it doesn't hit too hard. My favorite of theirs is the Townhouse because it's simple and I'm barely hitting it (like no more than 2 dB reduction). I use that or just the standard SSL Native Bus 2. Some of these plugins seem to be a solution in search of a problem.
Yeah I agree there. I tried it on a track, it sounded good but the more I messed with the other settings the worse it got so loaded up the Townhouse which was simple and just worked. Or maybe I'm just simple 😆
Bitwig 5.2 Beta has a new compressor (Compressor+) and its really good - its sidechain has 4 bands instead of 2 plus loads of different compression modes.
Tried it and it sounds good but I’ve just discovered the Vertigo sound VCA compressor, not the plugin alliance one but their own version. I really didn’t want to like it as it’s £200 🤣 but it’s blown everything else out of the water ITB for me.
@@StudioLife101 I did… all I could see was the Patreon. I subscribed there… but now I realize that you mean UA-cam “join”… which I can’t find on my phone, but was able to see it on my computer. (Which is why you can probably see the cute star now next to my name.)
It's a really good compressor! Only thing I'd rather use is the Unisum by Tone Projects. I'm also not a huge fan of the other plugins in this GUI style, with the exception of bx_clipper, it's pretty good. Anyway good little review guys, I liken this series to the "Before You Buy" series by Gameranx in terms of usefulness, with the added bonus of your snickering humor.
@@StudioLife101 I'm hold my sides! not just from laughing but also the SVT cabinets! Enjoyable as always, you found a BX 'Swiss Army knife" plugin you like.
tl;dr? It *is shit... or, at least, shittier than portrayed. - I'm curious how bx_glue gets a pass, despite, on any buss or 2-buss I placed it on that had any even slightly complex low-end in it (lows, not sub-lows,) the lows get weird and lackluster in various flavors depending on where the frequency cut-off is at, with "glue" turning into mush. I don't want to say it's a phase issue, because that's not *quite what it sounds like, but there's something janky in how it handles lows. Seriously, I'm not new to audio *anything, but I can't be the only one who's noticed this. But... ya'know... whatever... it's PA, so the marketing and hype will overshadow this technical issue, just like their recent CPU instabilities everyone tolerates.
No idea what you're testing it on...but lows sound natural and punchy to me.... This isn't doing anything un-natural or weird in the tests I've done....
I just got this, and I definitely LOVE what it does to the sound in the 2-band mode!! :)
Great review mates. Debating on replacing my bx_townhouse compressor with this one for the mix master bus. Tough decision 🤔
I like the townhouse as well.

@@rossjohnmartin Thr Townhouse is so good. Clear and sits behind the scenes. Let the other plugins do the color and heavier lifting.
Got the demo 2 days ago. I'm really enjoying it.
It is 19.99 till midnight today Dec 1. I could not resist
I appreciate you boys, thanks for checking this one out... Rock lobster, Love Shack etc!
Yea love shack

Wish Bitwig had visible gridlines 🥲😢
Just like the video caption says, BX definitely won me back over with this plugin. It’s really great as a 2 bus glue.
So is bettermaker comp and townhouse comp and shadow hills comp etc lol
These guys are the Hodge Twins of VST plugin reviews LoL
Only, these British guys are a whole lot better at their job and a lot more pleasant than the are..
You had me at the B'52's
ROAM !! B-52's how can anyone forget that.
Roam… if you want to…

$30 today! Gonna have to scoop it. Also, can you guys add TDR Molot to your list? Keep up the great work.
I think we looked at the TDR Molot at some point...
@@StudioLife101 I found TDR infrasonic, but no Molot unless I'm mistaken (which is my default state haha).
No worries either way :)

How does it compare to softube bus processor???

today I am buying this on your recommendation because PA are doing $20 plugins....

Bx Clipper is good 👍
Are they on form or are they on glue? Find out today at noon :')
As a former road crew member, I hold my mixes together with twist ties & duct tape! 🤪 I'll have to try the trial and see if i stick with it!
Cable ties and duct tape hold the entire live music scene together at even the highest level 😂👍
