As we age some tasks can just slip by, they get bumped down the list of priorities and by the time we get back to them those things are out of control. When things feel overwhelming its hard to remember sometimes that we don't have to eat the 'elephant' in one big bite, little bites, little projects, and focus on the one small section you've tasked yourself with for that one day. If I looked at my yard as one big thing I'd never step out my front door! Sometimes our 'try' is not enough to get it all done! Thank you for helping these homeowners!!! I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm 72 now and give myself smaller tasks in my UK garden. I've also tried experimenting with making my front and back garden more low maintenance. ❤
I’m with you there at 67 taking are of an acre and a half it’s rough. We let the field grow into a forest for deer so that’s done 4.6 acres was tough to keep mowed by myself

Don't know if you all are gardener's or not but that soil and leaves off the driveway would be fantastic for compost pile. You and your boys are amazing. I am a widow of 13 years and I know for the first several I had a lot to learn how to do and figure out ways to keep up with all that two of us had done for years. I do much better now and have learned good enough is good enough. My lawn doesn't have to be perfect. But these lessons were learned with help from friends and neighbors. That yard was a bit of a nightmare. Good work getting it done in a day. Watching Judah, and how he is drawn to little critters reminds me a bit of the British Naturalist Gerald Durrell. He wrote a 3 part series of books, the most well known being My Family and Other Animals, which was also turned into a Masterpiece Theater movie by the same name. It is an embellished autobiographical novel about the time he and his eccentric family spent on the Greek island of Corfu in the mid 30s. It was this time in Corfu that appears to have really fueled his love of all wild things, and likely led to his eventually choosing the career path that he followed throughout the rest of his life. Both the books, and the movie are very fun to watch, and full of witty comedy. It is safe for all ages with , as far as I remember, only a couple of cuss words used by a Corfu local.

I agree all that work and the larger trash has to stay. Most guys don't take care of it. Just put it aside neatly is all they can do. And some try to clean up some debris. Mostly organic matter or green matter it's called. (branches twigs leaves etc.)

Just offhand, I’d say little Judah will be working in animal rescue when he grows up, and I’m glad his collarbone is healed up good because there he was raking up and scooping up dirt and leaves. This was an excellent tackle of two properties, and the widows had to be pleased. I certainly was. God bless the Blessing Boys. They even uncovered a good part of the driveway that had been covered by years of dirt and grass.

Hey, Justin. If you ever encounter something like that of driveway situations AGAINED, with dirt, veins MIX together. I find by using a HOLE work damn superb for a JOB like that driveway situations. IT NEVER FAILS ME. It more better then using a shovel.

For future reference when you have thick carpeted drives like that one, use your edger to cut it in long strips. Once you start the end, you should be able to roll it like a carpet. Love that house! Great job! 😊❤ You could have used a dumpster on that job.

As you were speaking of walking the yard to clear it of debris before mowing, I recalled a Midlife Stockman yard transformation video where, although he walked/cleared a certain yard, there was a broken cinder block next to a dip in the ground hidden by tall weeds. His mower "bucked" him off at that spot. As he stretched out an arm to catch himself, his body flipped sideways, causing his arm to thrust under the mower deck. However, praise God, the engine shut off, or else he cut have lost his hand/arm to the mower blades. Needless to say he was very shook up for good reason. He had to take a break to calm his nerves before finishing the job.
Well done guys you all worked really hard ,and what an amazing transformation. Good to see your youngest son ,your boys are getting so grown up they are a credit to you and your wife.
That tricycle was made in the early to mid 1970's. Tricycles made earlier, by Radio Flyer, had rubber tires, like a bicycle. That one had hard wheels, so about 50 years old. Still very cool find. 😊❤
