I don't care what anyone says, Wade is extremely nice to watch when he plays like this
He seems to have relaxed a lot, actually smiling a couple of times. That goes a long way. Like Dirk, for instance. I don’t enjoy watching him when he is ultra-intense, but when he’s playing well, it’s fun to watch.

Great to see Wade playing well again, with 3 ton plus averages in 5 matches. Too bad his finishing fell off in the semi-final. It's tough to lose with a 109.12 average. Still, if he can keep this up, he should easily be back in the Top 10 by year end.
He seems to look a lot more comfortable on the oche now. Not forcing his darts, I never really enjoyed watching Wade before but I enjoyed him in this tournament

@@ThomasDoubting5 can't recall so many players all playing that well. Van veen James wade!! Duijvenbode and obviosly Humphries to name but a few. Standard was top drawer. Bodes well for the masters.

Agreed. I don’t know if it’s contractual as he said off the bat he hates playing doubles. That being said surely he would have the right to choose not to play? Maybe sky said he must? Yet he’s a far worse player when he’s playing pairs

Love DvD too but I fear he wont win a big tournament as a little inconsistent but when he's on he's epic.
The pressure of the big moments clearly gets to Dirk - he needs to learn to manage that if he is to get a big tournament win.

What a thrilling end to a thrilling tournament! Dvd was always on top form in this tournament but Humphries proved tonight that he is the true master of the European Tour!

The pressure must be amazing. Most of us "wannabe's" can hit D10 or D20 every second day of the week. But watching DVD and Cool Hand miss those doubles was mind-blowing!!! So I say again, the pressure must be absolutely phenomenal. The quality of the PDC players has got to be the best ever. Gone are the days of seeing the "Power" win everything week after week. You just can't pick a winner now and that has made it a brilliant spectator sport (for those of us that just love seeing a good "throwing the arrers" match)

Dirk has to feel like he should've walked home with the trophy tonight. He was lucky to win the leg after his tops-tops fiasco, but wasting three match darts on D8 and then two at tops sealed his fate. Can't miss 5 straight match darts against Humphries

What I got most from this tournament is that Van Veen could potentially be the next big star player to hit the scene if he stays on this trajectory. His confidence and skill level is very high for someone so young.

@@claphands-pr2vt we could say the same about Michael Smith and he won the big one and DVD has tons of talent just like Mike does but loses it a bit in the big moments. Veen seems to have a bit more of a killer instinct at this early stage in his development which is why I went out of my way to mention him.

Dirk seems to get to pumped at times. When he takes out a big finish the next visit is something like 43 most of time
Dirk let himself down badly, pushed Luke away when he went over to him after the game ,really bad loser came across as a nasty piece of work. At the end of the day he missed ,what did he want Luke to hand it to him? I was wanting Dirk to win but ill not be backing him again ,owes Luke Humphries an apology.

Its usually 5 or 6 days before the event so guessing 11-12th July couldn't find an actual date online anywhere

On the one hand i agree, in terms of pure skill hes much better then a few that got picked. But i still feel like his mindset can hold him back though. If he can be less of a perfectionist and stay calm when things dont go well, which tbf was good this weekend, hes in the pl. But if u go there and it goes wrong u can so easily go in a downwards spiral affecting all ur performances
