BRUNCH FOR BESTIES

We hosted a brunch get-together earlier today for our next-door neighbor Theresa to also welcome her visiting bestie from Long Beach, CA, Claudia, who they have been the best of friends since they were 20. This was Claudia’s second visit to The Aquitania but we never had the chance to interact with her the last time she was here.
Since both don’t drink alcohol, we raised a toast to Virgin Mary’s garnished with celery sprig & shrimp before the Salmon Avocado Toast was served followed by Pork Belly “Sisig” topped with fried egg and served in a mini heated cast iron skillet. We culminated with a bowl of caramelized mixed fruit medley (pineapples, mangoes & nectarines) topped with vanilla ice cream.
We all had a lovely time being immersed into some enjoyable conversation while we were being fanned by a rather pleasantly late summer breeze wafting through our dining room window. We just love hosting brunch get-togethers.
