People don’t understand the magnitude of Lil Wayne at this point in history… when he released this, it was immediately the #1 song like top of the limewire charts that same night
It’s insane how he just like disassembled the beat at the end of the song and put it together like fucking legos... “my flow cold, I spit mucus” like niggas just not made like this anymore 😂
I have been coming back to this exact video for the last 16 years since it was uploaded. It's been a few years, but I just randomly stumbled back upon it and it's chillbumps. You just had to be in high school/recently graduated high school to really understand what this Wayne did for this era of music. There was Wayne, and then beneath him was every other artist... far beneath
Here in 2025. I have the greatest memories as a kid, and you have a song for every moment, for every year that I can think of. This being one of them. Thank you for everything weezy
Right?!!!! A couple hundred million changes a person lol. Good for him. He still goes in when he wants to but he just has fun with it now. This man solidified his legacy with the Carter series, the dedication mixtapes, the drought mixtapes, no ceilings, i cant feel my face, and many many more. The consistency and lenthy duration of his reign was unreal from like 2005 to around 2012. There was a time he could do no wrong and his creativity was off the charts. A lot of ppl havent heard any of those mixtape projects from that time and only know his mainstream albums. I would argue that the concepts and content the mixtapes had could have been released as albums. There was a time i had over 3,000 songs on my computer that were ALL by wayne or features he had done. His overall catalog is out of this world.
MEMORY LANE !!! Early highschool days and burning every single mixtape dropped on hot new hip hop nd literally everyone wanting a copy from all the Droughts ,dedications, no ceilings, sorry for the wait, carter albums. NO ONE will run music like he did year after year from like '05 or '06 to like '12. When this song dropped we had the CEDAR Fires happening in San Diego and taking back roads through jamul driving side by side with the fires and trying to help anyone evacuate... damn this song brought back so great times ! wayne is the goat
From 2004-2008 he changed a culture of music thier was nobody on fye like him mistapes n albums ...steph curry of music den ..idgaf where u was from u was not fuckin wit him ...
This song was HEAT no pun intended 🔥🔥🔥 man whenever i wna listen to some proper Hip-Hop i go back 10-14 years n look for all the proper Wayne 👐🏻 these tracks bring back so many crazy memories!
