ABEL GARCÍA AYALA plays "Fantasia - Sonata" by Joan Manén

The Catalan violinist and composer Joan Manén created this piece in 1929, at the request of Andrés Segovia. Today it is considered a pinnacle of the guitar repertoire of the first half of the twentieth century.
Last year, 2021, we celebrated the “Joan Manén Year” on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of this great musician, who was very famous and recognized in life but who has been much forgotten after his death.
At our Autumn Concert, held in November 2021 in Badalona, Abel García Ayala wanted to join the tribute to the Master and performed the “Fantasia - Sonata op. A-22”. Here is the video of this performance.
