It was almost as if it knew there was something off about the robo crab. Maybe the robo crab's locomotion and the way it was moving gave off some red flags. Awesome video though!

i mean, i don't think they are intelligent enough to look for the tunnel and use it instead of the direct route over the road. mammals etc. will use it as they are actively avoiding cars whereas these crabs just yeet themselves over the road
Crabs also can see light polarization, so it's not enough that it's a similar color and shape, if it doesn't reflect light similarly to other crabs, then they're likely going to see something equivalent to us seeing a neon purple person.

Because reflected light tends to be more polarized, they can see an object not based on its color, but based on the polarized light that it's reflecting. Giving them a way to distinguish species, sex, and to see predators and prey that are otherwise camouflage in color.

I feel so badly for the crabs. They are brilliant to figure out how to deftly scale fences, to overcome great obstacles only to end up on roads where people drive over them without a second thought. Sometimes humans just suck. Spy animals are always wonderful. They are also adorable, every one of them. I love that they exist and give us fascinating glimpses of what life is like for beings with whom we share this world.
I wonder if the egg carrying crab can actually climb those fences without damaging their eggs. I remembered watching videos about them in the past where there's so much of them that it's supposed to be hard to see the ground itself. Did the crazy ants problem somehow under control now?
