1/2 Scale ACA Hurricane MKII Chopper Assembly

- Just needs a couple little changes made (tolerances tightened and an extremely small dimensional change) and then printed in the final colors.
Silver for the rotors and black for the motor cover.
I am making the entire hurricane MKII in 1/2 scale but will release the chopper stls early as a separate assembly. This assembly is fun to mess with, and i wanna publicize it early!
I plan on making an aca square horn hurricane once I upgrade my printer
okay tbh seeing the chopper turn over means there was a lot of torque in that motor
in the future I will print this model and somehow put the coding dampers in to finally make the aca hurricane 130-3
It sounds just like the real thing!
Hey, If you make this a full scale of the siren, you'd probably make the first functioning mini ACA hurricane. Cmon I believe in you
I'm making the entire thing!!! 1/2 scale. I plan to go to sirencon 2024, and if it's finished by then, I'll be bringing it!
@@nascarsimracing1 Nice! Goodluck, you will be creating history when you are gonna bring this to sirencon
SICK! You making this based off Milwaukee?
nope, it's gonna be a 1/2 scale of black darien!!! paying tribute to my childhood siren. was first to record it, recorded on august 2nd 2011
@@nascarsimracing1 nice!
I can’t wait to build one
Is there an assembly video?
@all_things_random_HehE Not yet, but i am currently working on an entirely redone hurricane head. And once it is done, i will make an assembly video for each of its individual components.
This entirely redone hurricane is the final one. It officially marks the half scale hurricane head as being finished, and is now time to make the blower. I will be updating the printables to have this new head once i finish it. Should be done before new years.
@@nascarsimracing1 thank you, because I need some assistance on the wiring on my chopper!
@all_things_random_HehE there are 4 wires total to connect. If you still have the covers for the original blower assembly, it shows a wiring diagram. Usually, white is neutral and blue is high speed. Then red and orange should be the wires where you connect your capacitor. It uses a 10uf CBB61 capacitor.
Check with your wiring diagram to make sure, but this is usually how the wiring is setup.
Really nice
I have a question- do u remember the motor u used for this thing? if yes send the link if possible
Yes, i used the samsung microwave blower motors.

Here's an example of one
and also do remember the chopper/stator files? (for both 8 and 10 port)
I haven't released them yet. The one link that exists is an older variant that isn't being used in the final build. Shouldn't be much longer until the final build is released though. Everything is modeled, i just have to print it all to confirm functionality and fitment and then I'll release it
@@nascarsimracing1 ok i can wait
2 weeks...
it’s finnaly here old me
i tried to print it but it did not work
Oh no. What happened that made it not work?
you have a flywheel or something making the wind down that long? also you got plans for the blower yet i could make some suggestions.
yes i have a 90mm OD, 65mm ID 5.25mm thick thrust washer in the bottom of each rotor. I am using an SC14 supercharger as the blower, belt driven to 3,075 rpm to produce a 205hz tone like the real blower's 205hz (different rpm on the real one bc it is 3 lobe while the sc14 is 2 lobe). i should be getting just a little over 150cfm
@@nascarsimracing1 I think the real one is two lobe based off the mk2 manual and its driven by 1725 rpm (4 pole 60 hz)
@faceplant755 no, both the mk1 and mk2 are 3 lobe blowers. However yes, the mk1 blower is direct driven at 1725 rpm. However the MK2 blower is belt driven by a 1725rpm motor with a step up pulley ratio that raises the blower speed to 2,050 RPM
@@faceplant755 a 2 lobe at 1725 rpm would make a 115hz hum. The 4 pole 60hz 1725 they're talking about is the specifications of the motor.
@@nascarsimracing1 yeah thats what im talking about too 60 hz is the line frequency. i was unclear sorry
What is the RPM of the motor?
This miniature runs at about 3,585rpm.
i am makeing a aca hurricane with solanoids but the moter doesint spin fast enouft
nice!!!! what scale is it and what motor is it using?
Hey do you have the 3d print files to this? It would be very cool to make a function half scale model of this
I haven't publicly released them yet bc theres stil one more revision to make before release (dimensional improvement and tightening stator tolerances) but I'll give u a link if u wanna make it early.
Usually i wait to release models until they're entirely finished so the public release is the best one. But sometimes I'll let u get stls early if u ask.
I'll get the link ready tomorrow, it's late rn and I'm about to go to bed
Yeah by all means send the link early if you want to and you could post an update about it too👍
sorry adhd got to me, here's the link

@@nascarsimracing1 THANKS BRO!
@@nascarsimracing1 also is the file or link broken because i tried loading it into 3d model viewer and it couldnt load the file
can you put the file onto thingiverse
I'm at my dad's rn, but when i get home, I'll be making the final adjustment (tightening stator tolerances) and then putting the stl's on printables
What type of motor are ya using?
The samsung PSC microwave blower motor. Same motor Edaan uses on his 2t22a cores! Just search "samsung microwave blower motor" on ebay and you'll find tons of them. Alot of times 20-30 bucks. It's ball bearing, psc, and 3600 rpm synchronous with a 5/16" shaft
@@nascarsimracing1 okay awesome thanks!!
@@nascarsimracing1can you send a link to the specific one you bought?
@justpinkfornow3737 the specific listing i bought from is gone, but here's another motor that'll work. Literally any blower with a visually same motor will work. They all have the same specs.
