Kudos to the 'detailing team' who made that pretty truck sparkle. Nice segue into the spot too. That 'ad' is ready for 'TV' (whatever that is...) And 'set for the winter' - by June! (Who are you - and what have you done with Riley?)
Cool to see a new partner like Ferrellgas. This video idea is probably a few years down the road, but I think Ferrogas is working on some renewable NG projects, one from biogas produced from vegetable oil byproducts, which looks really promising. I think there is another project, direct gas synthesis using excess renewable energy. Remote homesteads are always going to need some form of dense energy storage, at a minimum for backup heating and power during long snowstorms... Renewable natural gas is going to be one of the answers!
Thank y'all for the incredible time we had building this murphy bed together. This all started as a collaboration project, but we certainly left with 5 new friends for life (Oliver, Boone, & Bailey included of course). We hope to return the hospitality asap:) Might need some help building giant doors for shop build🥴
Thank YOU for flying all the way out here and helping us build the most amazing Murphy bed!! We finally got to show my Mom this week and she is blown away by how perfect it is.
If you go to their place to do a project, you need to do something involving metal. They came and showed their wood skills. You 2 need to go and show your metal skills. Great collab video!
There is a spring loaded tool that is made specifically for trimming both sides of a piece of edge banding at the same time. MUCH, MUCH EASIER AND FASTER!
That bed frame build would be a game changer for the RV/camper life people. It would be easy to mod it to fit just about any RV or Camper too! Even a smaller version with a single person.
For the dust extraction from your saw, , 3D print an adapter to match the hose to your saw. I just leave the adapter on the saw, and I can quickly attach the hose to every woodworking appliance I have. If you lose it, just print another! Game changer in how much dust was in the air.
Instead of doing that, and ruin the finished look, you could add "egg crate" style underlayment below the mattress. It is used for flooring and I've seen it used in van builds.
Your collaboration with Molly and Dylan on the Murphy bed was a hit out of the park. Well done!!! You mentioned that the tape measures were out of wack. (Usually) These can easily be brought back into "close" accuracy. Loss of accuracy is generally attributed to the tab (at the end of the tape) no longer being perpendicular to the line of the tape. Using a SMALL hammer gently tap the tab back into its proper position, the edge of a steel (welding or layout) table works well for this. Track saws are a major help to any woodworker, regardless of skill level. But before the availability of track saws to the general public woodworkers would avail themselves of "track boards". A track board is comprised of a super straight 1X2 and a piece of plywood (min. 1/2"). Secure the 1X2 precisely parallel to the factory edge of the plywood two to three inches inboard. Then saw off the "track board" from the full sheet of plywood using the saw intended to be used with the track board. Some people adhere sandpaper to the back of the rack board while others would simply clamp the track board into position using the space on the other side of the 1X2. At one time I had three track boards, an eight-foot, a five-foot, and a three-foot track board. Once again great work on the Murphy bed project. williamj
Aight you two(four) this is absolutely Freaking AWESOME! Mom is gonna be so comfortable in any season in this lil home, I do hope to see more of her in future videos.
Here from Woodbrew - I really liked this project, and I really appreciated the voice over talking about all the step. Really tied the project together. - cheers.
I have watched both of you couples now for several years. Entertaining couples, intelligent, and hard working. Would love to see more work combined between you two.
I watch you and your young friends do all these projects and I think that maybe the future may not be so bleak after all. Young people actually doing things and accomplishing satisfying work. Y'all have great work ethics and impressive skills. Yours is the only channel I CANNOT miss on Sundays. Thank you.
I can hardly wait to see you down at Molly & Dylan’s place & the next collaboration video you both do! I live in the Southern U.S. as well so be ready for the heat if ya’ll come down in the summer. These were great videos you guys did for both of your viewers! Again, thanks for your weekly videos, I really appreciate all the work you put in them!
What a race, and you all won. It was so nice to see it all come together. And now you, Courtney and Oliver have more friends far, far away. And you all seem to be like minded. Your mom will be very happy. See ya next time.
Nice work!! Cabinet makers tip, a new file removes that edge banding quickly, effortlessly and super clean. Also leaves no room for error. Razor blade can carve into material.
I bought a tracksaw several years ago. I do not do cabinet work, but the tracksaw makes it much easier to accurately rip sheets of plywood. I am definitely going to remember the trick with the foamboard. I finally have a use for the piece of foam board that has been laying around in my shop for years.
What an absolutely awesome addition to that build. I'd love to do that to my RV I live in fulltime. Use the closett space up front as the bed cabinet cavity, and the slider as the closet since I have very little clothing anyhow. Fantastic team work from all of you!!!
They make a flush trim bit with a very slight round over at the top that is perfect for trimming the edge banding. A regular flush trim bit also works but needs additional sanding. Make sure to get one with a ball bearing so you do not burn the wood. Go slow with the router to minimize chip out.
For trimming the banding strips flush a hand planer tool ( a small one using a very light touch will give a better trim and be super fast ) will put razor blades to shame. Just need to set a new sharp blade at correct height and make a few test swipes on scrap test boards before working on finished piece.
You guys are the greatest! So much experience and wisdom from show to show! I’m a 67year old retired Army veteran that just loves the show. Thank you for all you both do! Can you refer to me the DIY split AC unit please? Thanks again!
That bed will be great for longer stays. However, for those of us that want to limit a guests stay 🙄😁, save space and reduce cost - that bench and table setup with the back cushions filling in on the table would be great. Just like an RV dinette. And, it wouldn’t have covered part of the window.
Watching the two couples working together was fantastic! What a wonderful experience. Too bad you all don’t live closer together so we could experience so much more! Thanks for sharing this wonderful story with us!
Your craftsmanship and ingenuity in creating the ultimate Murphy bed from start to finish are truly commendable. This timelapse showcases your skill and dedication to innovation and practical design. And I Am Floating Village Life
You have some very talented friends that helped you build the Murphy Bed. The finished product is amazing. Your Mother will be amazed with her Idaho Cabin.
Have to be honest here. I passed up this video a few times seeing a cute young lady reclining on a bed thinking it was click bait. After seeing this screen cap a couple times I realized who she is and what channel this is. Love you two and am honored to be subscribed to your channel. Please keep up the great work and content you share…
This was great! Would love to make something like this for my guest space. Dylan looks so familiar, i just can't place him. Well done everyone involved
If you ever have to work with edge tape again, there is a trimmer with two blades, and you just squeeze it together for trimming! That container apartment is really a neat idea, and the Murphy bed tops it all off!
Wondering about mattress ventilation? How could you have a thicker mattress for comfort, comfort is important especially for your mum ? The ideas and design are cool and it has been well made .
Another great video. Molly and Dylan were a very talented couple. The combination Murphy bed and dining table make for a very functional unit in a small space.
Outstanding project! Thanks for sharing! I’ve often thought how a Murphy Bed, would be the answer. Three houses later, & I’m still thinking that! Play carefully, & keep your smiles on!
What a perfect home away from home for Grandma her own tiny house so well thought out if course Courtney and Riley what else. You two are the best. 🇦🇺🇦🇺💙💙👍👍
If you're doing another project with a ton of edge banding, consider investing in a laminate trimmer router and the right bits. You'll find uses for the router ever after and it will make the work go MUCH faster. And they are not that expensive. Or, if you want to stick with hand tools, a good block plane. Either will be much more fun than the razor blade.
Loved to see Woodbrew working with you guys. You are must see Sunday afternoon YT viewing. Also great to get to see two versions of the same project. And the adjustable table in front, perfect. Two rooms in one. Inspired me to put a murphy bed into a guest room to increase space during non-guest times.
Track saws are awesome! If you want perfect rounded corners, 3D print 1/4” thick templates on your printer and use them with a router bit and guide bushing. I pre-cut with a jigsaw and finish off with the router. It makes them perfect 90 degree angles. If you need a better description of the template, let me know.
Really nice. You really need slats under a mattress as condensation from sweat can create mold especially being closed up. But she's not using it all the time. After your mom's stay just leave the mattress out for a week to make sure all is dry. Super job! So cool!
Nice work. I think I would have done a full size murphy bed instead. That way, when your mother gets older it becomes more difficult to move around it will be easier for her to get out of bed. Then you could use that extra space saved to create some cabinets for clothes, bedding and terri. Just my humble thoughts on it. Love watching ya both
They make a tool that slides over the edge banding trim, has a dual razor blade inside, and you squeeze it together while sliding it along, to trim the edge banding in one go.
Love the channel and have been watching you guys since the start of the camper build, what makes your videos great is the candid style where we get to see your personalities! I missed that this week with the whole thing mostly voice over. Cool build though
Great job guys. C's mom is going to love it. Can't help picturing legs getting crushed when Oliver is playing with the remote while grandma is enjoying coffee at the table 😵😵
was just about to comment this was a REAL short video for what it covered... then saw a video recommendation over on their channel that is longer... heading there now!
When doing edge banding you should use a hard rubber roller to apply the needed pressure after the heat of the iron. There are several trimmer options for removing the excess.
That is one fine job you all pulled off there! Even tho I had to put my hearing aids on fast speed to keep up with Riley, that is so satisfying to see a good plan come together! Woodbrew rocks!
Enjoyed the video soo much. My husband and I watch both of y'all's videos: Ambition and Woodbrew.. Y'all worked so well together. Woodbrew are such a sweet couple, I'm sure, you discover through this time of building your 'murphy bed'. Such good work from the both of you... Looking forward to see what y'all do for Dylan and Molly bc I know it's going to be good.. I know someone's 'mother' is going to be sooo happy with her murphy bed.. Good job!
I do not use a knife to remove edge-banding, just a file, pass it one time from the good looking side down, breaking the whole edge off. Takes some practice, but then done very quickly. Sandpaper to finish it up, done.
Love that hippie girl on the splash page for the video. Add to the joy of precision work the joy of working with a team who loves precision work: full spectrum joy.
My dad and I built a murphy bed from a kit so I know this isnt as easy as you made it seem. good job getting it done in 3 days and getting it to fit in the container.
I don’t know if you have seen it before but they sell a special tool to trim edge banding after you install it. Makes the job really easy, accurate and fast. My buddy turned me on to it but unfortunately I was like 3/4 done with my project but still was glad I bought one. Just thought I’d share. That looks awesome guys! 👊🏼
As a professional home builder, I bought/supplied tons of fat max tape measures for my crew. No one was allowed to use a different brand cause their always different.
If you go to their place to do a project, you need to do something involving metal. They cam and showed their wood skills. You 2 need to go and so your metal skills. Great collab video!
Thanks to Ferrellgas for sponsoring this video: ferrellgas.link/8zf
Having the nice driveway that you built made it really easy for the propane to be delivered.
Does the table up/down motion stop if an obstruction (legs/arms) is encountered ?
Kudos to the 'detailing team' who made that pretty truck sparkle. Nice segue into the spot too. That 'ad' is ready for 'TV' (whatever that is...)
And 'set for the winter' - by June! (Who are you - and what have you done with Riley?)

Yes, mom is completely blown away. The entire unit is beautiful 😍 thank you, thank you, thank you!
U guys did that beautifully. The craftsmanship is mind blowing. Good job.
A great design and attention to detail during assembly made the bed look great in the container house.
Great design.

Consider adding holes for air flow to the bed. Otherwise the matress will have mold over time. Greetings from Germany 🇪🇺🇩🇪
Came here to say this. Great advice!
Same here
Instead of doing that, and ruin the finished look, you could add "egg crate" style underlayment below the mattress. It is used for flooring and I've seen it used in van builds.
The electric table raising feature is soooooo cool!
I just hope it has some sort of auto stop if someone is sitting there and the down button is hit accidentally.

Talented friends and learning new skills & tools is where it's at. Thanks for a great video.
We learned a ton from Dylan and Molly. They are very talented woodworkers!

I have watched both of you couples now for several years. Entertaining couples, intelligent, and hard working. Would love to see more work combined between you two.
That liftable table looks like a game changer. Your dinette idea is going to help me save space on a future project. This video was short but sweet.

Cool. Great to see my company sponsored your show. I d5ive the same type truck with the exact set up on the rear
Beautiful, the natural wood grain looks great in the tiny space.
Oh my gosh. They are another couple just like you and Courtney 😊. Love the Murphy bed.
You all make this build look easy. This is not a trivial project. It came out great.
When you do edging, use a router to trim the edge . My time as a cabinet apprenticeship.
What a race, and you all won. It was so nice to see it all come together. And now you, Courtney and Oliver have more friends far, far away. And you all seem to be like minded. Your mom will be very happy. See ya next time.

Wow, what precision into assembling a murphy bed according to Dylin's detailed plans. Amazing that they built the whole assembly in 10 hours!
Your vibe is infectious, love watching your content!
Could you guys do a cost breakdown when you finish the project?
Nice. You really need to get a battery laminate trimmer though for all those edges.
It was amazing to watch two of my favorite builder couples mash up and turn this project in 3 days. Hi Oliver.
Awesome build!! Great team work!!
You guys are the greatest! So much experience and wisdom from show to show! I’m a 67year old retired Army veteran that just loves the show. Thank you for all you both do! Can you refer to me the DIY split AC unit please? Thanks again!
To trim the edge banding, use a flush trim bit in your palm router. Easy peasy!!
That bed will be great for longer stays.

And, it wouldn’t have covered part of the window.
Wish I had seen this before I built my first Murphy bed. I totally over built mine!

That Came out FANTASTIC !! GREAT WORK TEAM !
I love it when a good plan comes together! Fantastic work, it looks great!
As I read your comment, the A-team theme song played in my head and I visualized Hannibal chewing a cigar 😁
You have some very talented friends that helped you build the Murphy Bed.

Thank you for your continued support of everything we do!
Another great video. Molly and Dylan were a very talented couple. The combination Murphy bed and dining table make for a very functional unit in a small space.
The mattress box could use some holes for ventilation under the mattress!
Thank you Dylan and Molly for such an AWESOME design an build! Perfect for that tiny house!
Outstanding project!
Thanks for sharing!
I’ve often thought how a Murphy Bed, would be the answer.
Three houses later, & I’m still thinking that!
Play carefully, & keep your smiles on!
I can’t wait to see this Murphy bed. Great custom build Dylan is a master carpenter !Love you guy’s 🙏🙏🧚🏼♀️Blessing’s
What a speech you had to write and synchronize with the work. You added some otherwise wasted space. Nice! Have good days!
swap out one of the struts for a linear actuator for the bed to be electric too
That would be so awesome!!
Of course have it dim the lights and play some Barry White while the bed comes down :)
Very impressed guys well done on this amazing project. 👏 👏👏👌
What a perfect home away from home for Grandma her own tiny house so well thought out if course Courtney and Riley what else. You two are the best. 🇦🇺🇦🇺💙💙👍👍
Enjoyed this project on the WoodBrew channel as well. What a pleasant surprise to see two of my favorite channels collaborating on a project.

How awsome! Truly skilled, shared knowledge and made friends. Love the outcome. Can't wait to see added decore and surprised reactions.
Neat project. An edge banding trim tool is available.
Nice work getting Ferrell Gas as a sponsor!
I'm coming from woodbrew and I've watched your entire series on this tiny house, needless to say I'm now subscribed, you guys are awesome!

Now THAT was an awesome Murphy bed build. Wonderful design!
Wow...What a great space saving bed and dining area....Awesome....Stay safe and see you on the next one
Very nice, definitely another pace than usual :P we can feel the rush, but understandable, and a very nice finish ! Amazing space optimization !
Beautiful, can't wait to see your mom's reaction to that beautiful cabin in the woods awesome.
When doing edge banding you should use a hard rubber roller to apply the needed pressure after the heat of the iron. There are several trimmer options for removing the excess.

Wow incredible skills and the finished product is strong and beautiful 👍🏻🏴
That's one hell of a trick Reckless Riley but expensive at 50.00 dollars a sheep for foam insulation .
The sheet of foam insulation will last for many projects!
Likely you’ll want some air circulation under that mattress for moisture evaporation.
Froli has what will solve that air circulation issue.
Love that hippie girl on the splash page for the video. Add to the joy of precision work the joy of working with a team who loves precision work: full spectrum joy.
My dad and I built a murphy bed from a kit so I know this isnt as easy as you made it seem. good job getting it done in 3 days and getting it to fit in the container.
when it come to edge banding, use a straight jointer blade instead, makes it so much quicker
What an awesome project. Your mom is going to love it and won’t want to leave.
As a professional home builder, I bought/supplied tons of fat max tape measures for my crew. No one was allowed to use a different brand cause their always different.

You and Dylan did an amazing job getting this together and installed 👏 🙌. Very nice looking.
WOW…Woodbrew and Ambition Strikes is such a Great Combo…Thanks for sharing this build…IAG, eh!!! 🇨🇦
Good job guys sending love. Hope everything is well. I will can’t wait to see you next week.
Try a planer blade next time to trim edge banding. Far quicker with more control
Great solution for the small space
Concept and implementation are an 'out of the park' home run! What an idea for me to think about, as I am considering a small space for living...
Thingaverse has a file to print a side cover for your track saw. It makes dust collection almost 100%. Thanks for the great content.
Great build! You should consider ventilation holes underneath the matrass for counteracting mould and moisture.
Great concept and use of space and a great contact and Riley learning new techniques
Dylan the Wood Wizard for the win! Bed/dinette looks awesome.
What a great design for the murphy bed and dining area. Loved this video, you guys rock!
