"The record is about a girl who likes to have sex with the lights off, because she’s embarrassed about her body. She doesn’t want her man to see her naked. She will be free, and she will let her inner animal out, but only when the lights are out. She doesn’t feel free without the moon. Years later, and this song still makes me just blast it in my earphones and throw my head back, just listening to it as goosebumps trail all over me. This song is the best.
I remember playing this song over and over and over aain for weeks to the point that when I think back to November 2009 all memories of that era are set to this song :) Seriously this is one of Gaga's best songs. There is something both dark and uplifting about it, the melody is timeless, the synths add a powerful sound to the chorus, the production is tight, the message is deep... I am still SO MAD there was no video for it. I can picture an epic underground setting, blue strobelights... Anyway, Gaga at her pop best.
Hopefully that happens, Now I just need to get my computer to support it...And seriously? It has Applause? Microsoft, How could you deprave us from the Gaga?
The best 'deep cut' of all of her work thus far. I'm not sure how well this would've done as a single but it is a haunting and incredible song. It still moves me.
It was intended as the third single and was supposed to get a music video but her label made Gaga put out Alejandro..Gaga loved Alejandro but she liked dance in the dark better
This is my favourite song ever, but let me say that she has evolved as an artist and the quality of Born this Way and ARTPOP is better than The Fame Monster (musically). I think the problem is in the promotion, the lack of videos and the quality of the last videos she has made. Songs like Scheisse, Hair, The edge of Glory, Marry the night, Aura, Gypsy, Do what U want... are brilliant but they dont have an epic music video like Bad Romance or Telephone. Anyway, any song in the fame monster could have been a great single, I wish it lasted more, feels like an unfinished era to me.
+Rion The first two albums of Gaga were made with a more 'commercial' point of view, they were made to be sold and made money on. While most of the world go gaga over Fame & Fame Monster, they don't realize that under these albums, Gaga was heavily under pressure of her record label, she could do little independently. It was only after Born This Way that Gaga achieved her 100% artistic calibur, though, her management dissed her because she was too strong of a force to be handled. Gaga is Gaga, she's not a puppet and definitely not an artist who can sell herself to the fame, she lives for music and art, and she'll show it again with #LG5 :D
oh please no...even melody relating to demonic entities, brainwashing, shadow government...she was portrayed as a pawn in some of her old music videos...but i feel like she finally woke up and sings for art, for herself, for her fans, NOT for money, fame and music industry...that makes her even more of a Queen in my eyes im not saying that i disliked her, i always loved her, shes very talented, marvelous artist
10 years of THE FAME MONSTER this year... time has flown by! And Gaga with A Star Is Born has proved that across 12 years she still has it in her... bring on next album. Dance In The Dark is art!

I am still SO MAD there was no video for it. I can picture an epic underground setting, blue strobelights... Anyway, Gaga at her pop best.
Miss this gaga :/
but she is still the same gaga
Just love her she's still just as amazing.
One of my favorite Gaga songs ever
Of all the songs Lady Gaga has done, this is the most underrated of them all ever!
Find your freedom in the music, find your jesus❤
what does she says to find after jesus?
Kubrick
Find your Freedom in the music, find your Jesus, find your Kubrick.
I wish I could go back to the beginning and live everything again
This, bad romance and speechless are my absolute favourites from TFM (the fame monster)
I love every track of TFM.
TFM, the fame and Born this way were her best albums
Playing GTA V and listening to this. Good mixture.
I wish it was actually on the radio stations there.
Craig Boone No they had to stick to rihanna and britney spears -.-
Craig Boone don't worry, when gta 5 comes to pc you will probably be able to add your own songs to radio like you could in previous gta games :)
Hopefully that happens, Now I just need to get my computer to support it...And seriously? It has Applause? Microsoft, How could you deprave us from the Gaga?
Craig Boone If you have the PC version you can add it onto your custom radio :)
NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY AND NOT EVEN A SINGLE. queen
this is pure POP perfection
Gaga best song by far
I love most of her songs, but this will be always my favorite.
I will forever be obsessed this period of Lady Gaga
2020 y sigue siendo la mejor canción de Lady Gaga ❤️
No guapi, recientemente Is that alright o Enigma son canciones perfectas.
@@NetoocruzPero no se acercan ni en lo más mínimo a "Dance In The Dark"
sigue siendo uno de los mejores en 2024
The best 'deep cut' of all of her work thus far. I'm not sure how well this would've done as a single but it is a haunting and incredible song. It still moves me.
ugh i love Gaga so much. still one of my fav songs
Together, we'll dance in the dark! ♥
You will never fall apart Diana you'll still smell my fart 😂😂
LMFAO
mustang61 your not funny princess
Darkest woods
You are a stingy loserrrrrrr lalalaalala.
I really miss this lady gaga who change the world and my way of see things
Still her best song to date.
+BonoLightier *AuraOr Swine.
+Bacon&Pizza&IceCream Aura & Swine are some of her worst songs. She has far better.
PetroleumJellay Ok, because I forgot that on the internet opinion=fact... Shithead.
PetroleumJellay I
aura is amazing to my ears !!!! and no i won't change them
The end is everything I ever wanted
2021 still missing the fame monster 😍❤
This song makes me dance like a maniac, one of the mot deepest song shes ever put out. It deserved a music video, AND lead single.
It was intended as the third single and was supposed to get a music video but her label made Gaga put out Alejandro..Gaga loved Alejandro but she liked dance in the dark better
The Fame Monster was my fave album!
I agree! And I cannot live without her other albums ;)
I feel like this song was written for princess Diana, exactly when she says "she looks good but her boyfriend says she's a mess"
+Rion I fully agree with you.
Gaga is Gaga, she's not a puppet and definitely not an artist who can sell herself to the fame, she lives for music and art, and she'll show it again with #LG5 :D
oh please no...even melody relating to demonic entities, brainwashing, shadow government...she was portrayed as a pawn in some of her old music videos...but i feel like she finally woke up and sings for art, for herself, for her fans, NOT for money, fame and music industry...that makes her even more of a Queen in my eyes
im not saying that i disliked her, i always loved her, shes very talented, marvelous artist
This song is as gaga as it gets
I JUMPED WHEN I HEARD IT AT THE SUPERBOWL!!
Miss this gaga. This song reminds me of the old times and just gives me a feeling that i cannot explain. Praying she makes more music like this
10 years of THE FAME MONSTER this year... time has flown by! And Gaga with A Star Is Born has proved that across 12 years she still has it in her... bring on next album. Dance In The Dark is art!

@@Corsetdollx I know right 😢
This ir her best song. Period.
3:21 - 3:44 is my favorite part of this wonderful song
DANCE IN THE DARK > Perfect Illusion
The Fame Monster > Perfect Illusion
I kind of wish she saved Dance in the Dark later for a comeback single. As silly as that may sound, we would get a music video and everything.
Dennis Q. Ly Agreed it is a thousand times better in my opinion.
Dennis Q. Ly Dance in the dark > JOANNE
yeah
"Dance In The Dark"
Silicon, saline, poison inject me
Baby, I'm a free bitch
I'm a free bitch
Some girls won't dance to the beat of the track
She won't walk away, but she won't look back
She looks good, but her boyfriend says she's a mess
She's a mess
She's a mess
Now the girl is stressed
She's a mess
She's a mess
She's a mess
She's a mess
(Tell 'em, girls)
Baby loves to dance in the dark
'Cause when he's lookin' she falls apart
Baby loves to dance in the dark

'Cause when he's lookin' she falls apart
Baby loves to dance, loves to dance in the dark
(Tell 'em, girls)
Run, run. Her kiss is a vampire grin
The moon lights her way while she's howlin' at him
She looks good, but her boyfriend says she's a tramp
She's a tramp
She's a vamp
But she still does her dance
She's a tramp
She's a vamp
But she still kills the dance
(Tell 'em, girls)
Baby loves to dance in the dark
'Cause when he's lookin' she falls apart
Baby loves to dance in the dark
Baby loves to dance in the dark
'Cause when he's lookin' she falls apart
Baby loves to dance, loves to dance in the dark
In the dark

You will never fall apart
Diana, you're still in our hearts
Never let you fall apart
Together we'll dance in the dark

In the dark
Who’s here after listening to the mess that is Stupid Love 😭😭😭 I miss this Gaga, this whole album takes me back to being 18 and feeling so lost and troubled. I am still am but getting better by the day. I simply don’t understand how she released such a lackluster song :(( feeling nostalgic
I totally agree,I do not get the depth in Stupid Love as this song.
@@allienby8964 911 is pretty good
Unbelievably Beautiful
Listening to this masterpiece after I listened to Perfect Illusion..... it hurts
i tried to get into joanne but then i return to this and i just... can't. joanne isn't BAD, it just isn't for me:( i miss the synths, the epic pop ballads, the theatre, the fantasy.. the art. joanne is too raw for me. i can't escape in it like i can in this.
i agree ):
Dancin' in Circles? John Wayne?
If this song came out in the 80s, it would be a classic number 1 hit!!
This song won a grammy
The best song of her career, i need more songs like this in LG6!!
Pop Music unfortunately LG6 like the Joanne. Joanne nice but not good much The Fame or BTW
Bedirhan lg6 is not going to be like joanne that's for sure
Isaac shah Toneu ooo that nice ❣️
Try the band 'Alphaville' and 'Silent Circle's.
Isaac shah Toneu i fucking hope so!! miss her old songs so bad
This is sooooo awesome 💋
To think that she made this masterpiece when she was only around 23 years old. Nowadays these popgirls who are a similar age could never, the difference between her and them is crazy
This song makes me feel chills all over my body
Even when am being put down from my husband this song brings me back up 🥰 thanks lady gaga for your awesome music
Her best song.
One of them
the soundtrack sounds so familiar, but so nostalgic
This song is a piece of art
I love listening to this on Spotify
