My mother once told me that, years ago, when someone ruined a gathering with a dour mood, one teased him or her by singing this to the tune of "Pretty Baby:" "Every party has a pooper-- / That's what we invited you fer! / Party pooper! / Party pooper!" 🤣

Sheet music cover art history is a fascinating subject, often neglected by historians. I'm not sure which version of the music to which you are referring. You would have to do some more research to be certain.

Someone in the chat commented about loving the sheet music for "Kitten on the Keys" which shows a drawing, rather than an image of Confrey, the composer. I am almost certain that drawing is by the great cat artist Louis Wain!

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this concert, I just loved hearing you at the Strater Hotel in October. I purchased your 2 Cd collection and when I played it for my daughter who is 26, she really enjoyed the music, that made me happy. Merry Christmas Adam.

Thank you for sharing something new to me, I hope to return the favor now. I don’t know if you’ve heard of the band Oasis, best known album was What’s the story morning glory?, I think anyway. Well, one day I was listening closely to their work and I must’ve gone a bit delusional because that work seemed strongly correlated to my own life’s experience. I know, I can’t barely believe it myself. This bit of lyrics spoke exceptionally loudly at me, it conveyed their willingness to extend a hand down to some sufferer, I imagined myself, a magnanimous expression of charity to be sure, but then continued on mournfully if that hand be refused, would that suffering soul please say a prayer to that same charitable singer. I can only imagine, as with all art, the underlying meaning but i use it as a fountain of hope for better days ahead. Also, the Guillemots song Kris’s Kross, make what you will of those lyrics. You might already know all of this, I’m sure you’ve merited a privileged education but I still hope to have grown your awareness as you have mine. Blessings.
