Gday Mike. I watch a lot of off road UA-cam and must say your camera angles and positioning is exactly the type of thing all the big channels lack .well done very easy to watch.❤😊
Shawn Great to hear you are getting a channel started!!! Mike I didn't know how the rear steer was going to help till now? But that's great 👍👍👍😃 !!!! I am looking forward to your videos Shawn !!! Take care be safe guys happy new year!!! Say well guys!!! 😮😊
Mike, I think this video had some of the best camera work I for one appreciate the amount of leg work it must have taken to set up those shots. Just so you know, I appreciate you hard work.
You look at the camper and you are like NO WAAAAAY (in Mike's voice)... I mean how in the what in the world.... and then you realize that entire thing was built specifically for that very thing and reason. I think with enough practice of taking different lines (since you are towing) you can master it in no time. You have the double whammy of trailer line (something Rory talks about quite a bit) but also steer ability which allows you to cheat that a little bit. Very cool rig and following progress all this time was equally awesome!
Always seems to be a guy with a couple friends that has a UA-cam page that's doing pretty well. Then greed comes into play. Usually the one with the successful page stays successful. The ones who leave, not so much. Mike you have a decent chance with the four wheeling stuff. Sean, good luck bro.
The area looks stunning. Can't wait to see it in person. We've booked to stay at a place with airstream vans as accommodation for a few days enroute from Salt Lake to Boulder.
Just got back from wheeling and now you are making me jealous I didn’t take my camper today. I could still be on the trail right now. Mike, this is too awesome! What’s next Prichett? Lol
The off-road vintage camper is amazing. I mentioned before I restore vintage campers that have nice wooden interiors. I know you're not looking for a restoration but I wish I could help you with the inside to make it practical with a sink, a stove and a good bed layout couch combo. That thing is so cool already! And like I mentioned it before. Anything vintage camper is potentially UA-cam Gold. And you not only have the classic canned ham vintage camper you have an off-road capable rock crawling camper!!
A neat debut for the New Year. I hope you have lots of opportunities to set around the campfire and share adventures with friends. I wonder if elk will be curious to see who's sleeping on their trail!
I really like where your taking this channel Mike ,Totally Cool 😎 👌 👍 That little camper is amazing. You did Poison Spider Wow that is AWESOME. Thanks for another great video, can't wait for the next one. 👌Oh i almost forgot, i already subscribed to The Shawn Show now he needs to start putting out videos 📹 😅
I know I can't be the only one that hears Fergie's voice every time Mike says "Check it out". Oh and i think that catch phrase would be a perfect shirt for some merch, maybe with a picture of the K5 and camper!
Have you considered a front axle off a four wheel drive rubber tire backho? For the trailer. Still has steering and bonus it “could” be a drive axle. 🙏❤️😎🤙🚗💨
That camper is way better than any $50,000 off the road camper. only suggestion I can say is you should get some spray undercoating to do the plywood on the bottom side.
Theres already soooo much content... I just don't have enuf spare hours in my days to support all of you... I love you guys, wish I could do more, but I hope the $$ fountain of ad revenue keeps you all living the dream !
Hi Mike tell Shawn I wach all of Shawn show to ok I will always praying 🙏 for Shawn and family and friends ok 🙏 you have a wonderful day and have a good night and day ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox
Back in the seventies, I was hired to haul some long piling for a government project. I built a trailer with log bunks on it to hold the wooden piling and it was around eighty feet long. No trailer in the world is going to follow a truck pulling that trailer around a curve on highways or up into the hills where things got a lot narrower. Since these pilings were not extremely heavy, I used a front axle out of a G.I. rig and used electric over hydraulic for steering and to center my axle when just going straight .. I used a micro switch (brake light switch) so that a light came on when it was straight ahead. Some of those curves were very hard turns yet by doing this way, I managed to get all but one piling they piled onto me.... it was a hundred foot long and up on top. when I made a hard turn around a switchback, that longest piling rubbed the hillside and cracked it... if someone had let me know.... I most likely could of saved it... maybe as it was a kiss your fanny curve. I could look out my passenger window and watch those tires on my trailer turn. I sure wish I had patented it at this time as no one had done it before me as I know of. I am almost certain others will copy your system Mike. Have you looked into a patent pending type thing and see if you can get a small commission for this idea.??
New side business idea for you… Rustic/Minimalist/Off Grid Air B&B your camper from different hidden gem locations, classic sunrise/sunset spots, or classic vista views. Collect a sticker from each of Mike’s favorite locations! Happy New Year!!!
I wonder how much it would help if you put an electric motor on your camper axle. It might give you a little boost climbing hills. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Mike I really love your trailer you really do a great job keep up the good work ok I will always praying 🙏 for you and your family and friends ok 🙏 please be careful out there ok 🙏 and please 🙏 be safe 🙏 ok you have a wonderful day and have a Happy new year ok love Lorilee xoxoxoxox 😀 ❤️ 😘
Have you thought of installing a small air-cooled engine on your trailer. differential to aid in climbing? You can use an electric throttle to control it.
@CORNDODGER yes under the floor near the fixed axle, it could use a side by side engine and variable fully system. Mike has all the necessary skills needed.
Great vid Mike, great cam shots, great scenery, Thank you for sharing, Jon UK. ( all ready subscribed to The Shawn Show 🙂 )
Mike, you certainly have the measure of towing the camper through some gnarly obstacles.
Wow I love the camper!!! Great work
You and the Camper did well! Great Job! Thanks for sharing your builds with us!
The obstacle you said had you worried a bit was the one I was waiting for. Handled!
I restore old vintage canned ham trailers like this one and I own a 1978 Blazer... You just put both of my worlds together LOL...
Hell yeah!
"Canned ham camper" makes me hope one day Mike paints the camper... like a can of Spam.
@@UmmmmmmmWhat That's not the right shape really...
Wow, the go-anywhere camper is a success. Congratulations on another winner. Have fun and Happy New Year.

That camper just makes me smile.
WOW Mike! 11:01-13:37 was just SHOWING OUT!!! What a rig, what a DRIVER!! Love your content! Happy New Year to you Shawn and Rory!!
Happy New Year Awesome camper
You could do some kind of temporary drive to the trailer axle for the real bad spots to help push it through.
A DC motor rigged to the pinion flange.
Pretty awesome to see im not the only one pulling a camper off road
Gday Mike. I watch a lot of off road UA-cam and must say your camera angles and positioning is exactly the type of thing all the big channels lack .well done very easy to watch.❤😊

Love watching "Crabber" be pulled in Off-Road situations where some vehicles can't go. Mike, you should be proud of what you have done. 😊
Your camper is amazing 👏
Thanks for sharing this video Mike of the camper doing well on the trails. That rear steering is a plus for it!
Mike, I think this video had some of the best camera work I for one appreciate the amount of leg work it must have taken to set up those shots. Just so you know, I appreciate you hard work.

I had to rewind at one spot, because I was certain I saw the axle on the camper turn. Yup, it sure did! I've never seen such a thing.
Sweet ! Thanks for sharing !
The trailer seems to be working out pretty well. It does seem to also be putting your rig under some stress. So far so good.
i can only imagine some of the cool camp-spots that set-up will get into ( and looks like you have the starts of a super cozy camper )
I wish Sean best of luck on your new adventure channel.
Already subscribed to Shawn, Happy New Year

The camper gets around pretty good in the rocks and sand.
Thanks guys!

Excellent shots of taking off road camper through places i probably couldn't take high boy. And it's far from stock.

Was thinking, if you were concerned about the stove pipe being too short, to pack an extension piece to clamp onto it when in use.
What no more Mike and Shawn show Wow you guys are awesome together all 3 of you good combination Happy New Year to you guys

The Shawn show is a great channel 👍 Highly recommend 👍
I wonder how much it would help if you put an electric motor on your camper axle. It might give you a little boost climbing hills.
Thank you for sharing.
Looks like the trailer needs some crossed over limiting strap, similar to what Rory uses when dead towing something
Great adventure

@warrenmichael918 I probably missed it 😔
@CORNDODGER yes under the floor near the fixed axle, it could use a side by side engine and variable fully system. Mike has all the necessary skills needed.
