I think there are several possible reasons he didn't just laser Doomsday to death: 1) He wanted a piece of Doomsday for experiments. For all Lex knew, excessive use of the laser could've unintentionally burned or disintegrated all of Doomsday's tissue samples 2) The suit didn't have enough electricity to power up the suit's laser for more than one shot 3) He guessed that stabbing Doomsday to death in his brain and/or organs using some ultra sharp knife was the only way to be sure Doomsday would die. That list is REALLY short.
If you think about it, both Lex and Superman saved each others lives. Lex led Doomsdays attention away from an unconscious Superman. Superman saved Lex from getting tossed into a building , which easily would have killed him.
This is the type of writing for Lex Luthor I like. He's got an ego the size of a blimp and cares more about his own interests than public safety but provided their interests align he will step up and protect earth even if it's just to prove he can succeed where superman fails. I hate when they make him look like a coward or incompetent or someone who intentionally causes mass harm. His goal in life is to prove he's better than superman not be evil or make more money.
Luthors EGO itself is his greatest and perhaps the only enemy. That gun literally dismantled Doomsday for the longest time period as compared to his fights with the Justice league.
I have to say the confidence in Luthor's voice when he calls Doomsday a "son of a b***h" while pummeling his face got me thinking he might stand a chance.
I was watching this out of context having not seen the movie. I thought it was a badass Lex moment even though, of course, he couldn't beat Doomsday. But my respect went up for him massively when I realized he was INSIDE THE SUIT! What a BADASS! I thought he would be controlling it remotely!
I think the thing about remote piloting the suit is that Luthor had Superman in mind when making it and if you'd attack Superman with something remote controlled he'd just sense where the transmissions were coming from, find you, and wallop you while escaping from the suit's weaponry, meaning it's safer in the suit than anywhere else if you're picking that kind of fight
Luther: "I'm supposed to win!" Me: Now, let me get this straight. You expect to win against a giant alien creature, who just mopped the floor with Superman, the guy that usually ruins and defies all of your schemes and plans? You, win against the guy, who won against this other guy, who wins against you? this isn't rock paper scissors.
I may not agree with Lex on many things, but the idea that we would actually need to be prepared to defend ourselves WITHOUT the Justice League makes sense to me.
This whole scene reminds me of the exchange between Superman and Luthor in BvS. Superman: You've lost. Luthor: I don't know how to lose! Superman: You'll learn. From the looks of things, Lex still hasn't learned.
Lex is doing well until he decides to go up close trying to melee him..Given the fact doomsday is a melee fighter range attacks are the best against him..once hes close to you its game over.Thats why lantern failed at the beginning too.
Lex: "Nooooooo!"
CinemaCins: "No." *ding*
That channel will take anything pretty much as a ding
Luthors EGO itself is his greatest and perhaps the only enemy. That gun literally dismantled Doomsday for the longest time period as compared to his fights with the Justice league.
0:55 Bro Lex actually thought Doomsday was already dead and attempted to grab a souvenir 💀💀
Lex gave a real fight to Doomsday unlike the Justice League. Only he came close to killing him but didn't expect his heat vision. Mad respect.
At the beginning of the film Superman says to Lex: Just because you are hating me doesn't mean they love you. Brilliant.
“You son of a bitch”-Lex would be more eloquent than that.
Lex Luther:
0:38
You Picked the Wrong City
You picked the wrong house , fool
0:46
Always has been
I think the thing about remote piloting the suit is that Luthor had Superman in mind when making it and if you'd attack Superman with something remote controlled he'd just sense where the transmissions were coming from, find you, and wallop you while escaping from the suit's weaponry, meaning it's safer in the suit than anywhere else if you're picking that kind of fight
DCEU Luthor turning Zod into Doomsday just got dethroned as the dumbest idea ever.
Lex Luthor really is just everything that makes humans great and shitty turned up to 11 all at once
Lex actually had Doomsday unconscious. If he kept punching, he could’ve won.
"I'm lEx LuThOR. i'M SuPpoSed To WiN".
LOOK MOM, I'M WRITING!
Lex Luthor was really doing his best ‘The Monarch’ impression at the end there
Luther: "I'm supposed to win!"
Me: Now, let me get this straight. You expect to win against a giant alien creature, who just mopped the floor with Superman, the guy that usually ruins and defies all of your schemes and plans? You, win against the guy, who won against this other guy, who wins against you? this isn't rock paper scissors.
Rainn Wilson as lex luthor that's awesome he is going to be in a sequel
To be fair, Lex was DESTROYING him before he started monologuing.
1:20 “I’m Lex Luthor! I’m the one who wins!!”
But instead Mr business took him down a peg
Things don't always go the way you want it to go, Lex
I may not agree with Lex on many things, but the idea that we would actually need to be prepared to defend ourselves WITHOUT the Justice League makes sense to me.
At least Lex had the balls to try and stop Doomsday in person.
0:38 you picked the wrong city fool
He actually stood a chance. He's the only one who made doomsday unconscious.
This whole scene reminds me of the exchange between Superman and Luthor in BvS.
Superman: You've lost.
Luthor: I don't know how to lose!
Superman: You'll learn.
From the looks of things, Lex still hasn't learned.
1:40 Iwould love that Superman said "You're welcome" to Lex. I would had be a Super punch for his Ego
whenever Lex is fighting to protect the people.
its because he's the one who put them in danger in the first place.
0:55
This is where Lex lost his advantage. He should've kept pounding on Doomsday.
What is pounding him going to do?
Doomsday would catch his punches and crush his suit either way
@@jj-ce8bb yeah but at least it would weaken him enough for superman to land the finishing blow without having to sacrifice himself
Our genius, ladies and gentlemen! Rushes into fighting a creature without bothering to thoroughly check what's it capable of.
1:20 "I'm supposed to win"
Lex sounded like egoraptor: "I'm the videogame boy, i'm the one who WINS" xD
Lex: im lex Luther!
Doomsday: who?
The animation in this movie is vastly improved. Nice.
Lex luthor and his power armor is no match for doomsday
This luther behaves like kid
He's the old cliche version which is very funny
“Micheal! Jim created Doomsday and he’s tearing apart Dunder Mifflen!”
Jim: *Smirks*
Whenever lex is a hero and not a villain in the comic or screen it’s a thousand times better
It was at this moment Lex realized he was only alive because Superman doesn't want to kill him.
Lex did well better than most of the Justice league
Knowing Lex, he probably prepared and recited that speech like a hundred times just for this one occasion
Good thing doomsday landed in the US..if he landed in Japan he'd be killed by saitama
Stfu fuckin Weeb Saitama suck
@@StanleySama95 not as much as your temper
@@StanleySama95 geez, pissy much?
Or Goku
Stanley Vml Saitama is fucking OP dude.
Imagine how good this scene would have been if they'd brought back Clancy Brown to voice Luthor again
Yes this voice just doesn’t fit good with Luther
Dwight voiced Lex Luthor and Jim voiced Superman, crazy world
Lex is doing well until he decides to go up close trying to melee him..Given the fact doomsday is a melee fighter range attacks are the best against him..once hes close to you its game over.Thats why lantern failed at the beginning too.
But to be fair knowing doomsday he would prob find some way to kill Lex.But so far that green ray seemed to work great,he felt that.
So Lex Luthor has a Justice Buster suit just like Batman
trex advent technically lex had his first
I’m pretty sure that’s just his standard War Suit,
Green lasers. Probably kryptonite. 10:1 odds the suit was made for Superman.
was that a Kryptonite blaster he blasted at Doomsday?
@@MustafaALI-zu8ji Lex only cares about superman. If lex was calm and used his brain as effectively as batman then he would be more dangerous then batman. Lex's ego is his major weakness.
Doomsday just loves gently picking things up without gripping too hard and then throwing them really far.
You'd think Lex would be smart enough to make that mech a drone.
I like it, that it is a weekly occurrence, that the justice league fails or gets destroyed.
