Even then, this doesn't make much sense. Akaza would kill Rengoku and Giyuu, mark or not. In his fight with Rengoku, he was just toying with him, trying to get him to turn into a demon.

What I think:
Rengoku did stand a chance, if they could've hold akaza a lil longer, for the sun to burn him. It's just that he got away, which was the sad thing. Rengoku fought to the death, and kept declining akaza's offer - to turn him into a demon. While Rengoku, very badly injured kept akaza's arm in his hole wound, to keep him there for the sun to burn him.

Giyuu said that permanently marked Tanjiro was already a pillar during their battle with Akaza in the infinity castle, and marked Giyuu was also having a hard time against Akaza. If both marked Giyuu and Tanjiro who's basically 2 pillars against Akaza that almost died from their battle, then there's no way unmarked Giyuu and Rengoku can beat Akaza which is also 2 pillars against Akaza
If Giyu would go to Mugen Akaza is taking them both easily since Giyu without his mark quite literly did 0 dmg to Akaza and it was 2v1 ._. with hashira lvl Tanjiro helping him. But overall its hard to even say since powerscaling in DS makes no logic. Bcs Tanjiro was easily taking on Zogakuten but all of a sudden in infinity castle he forgot how to fight. And than he remembers again how to fight against muzan .-.
Giyu (base) chopped off Akaza hands twice when he was saving tanjiro's ass. As soon as Giyu joined the fight, Tanjiro only got in the way. He tried to help Giyu (base) twice and was stunned twice and almost died. They will not defeat akaza, yes, but they are guaranteed to survive. They will kill him only if Rengoku sacrifices himself and Giyu blows off his head and akaza does not have time to escape from the sun. Hantengu easily humiliated Tanjiro, Genya and Nezuko in his strongest form, if not for mitsuri, he would have killed them in a few seconds.

@@dante_sparda2 read the manga again and you can clearly see that giyuu carried the fight. Tanjiro only came to cut off akaza head. Majority of the time tanjiro was having flashbacks about his pasf. Giyu barely got any time to rest. He was fighting akaza and saving himself and tanjiro ass.
To be honest tanjiro got saved by almost all the hashiras.
Giyu not only saved tanjiro against akaza but he also saved tanjiro when they first encountered muzan.
Now you all will come up with but tanjiro saved giyu during the fight which is absolutely true however sanemi also got saved by gyomei during their fight against kokushibo and sanemi also saved muichiro......
So yeah basically everyone saved eachoat some point.
But tanjiro is the protagonist and he got carried by majority of the hashiras otherwise he would have been a dead meat.

Base Rengoku does a strong warrior, might be somewhere around base sanemi. Yes, Akaza just toying with him and we will never knew how strong Rengoku actually. However Akza does hint Rengoku was special and had lot of potential. He also predict Rengoku might be level up a lot if he get more training 2-3 years and above if given time. And for sure he will become a beast if had those hashira's training, unlock DSM and See Transparent World.
But still, the truth is in Mugen Train Arc period, there will be no present hashira able to defeat Akaza, unless both Giyu and Rengoku able to restrain akaza until sun rise. And might be both of them survive but taking lot of serious injuries. Akaza was killed by plot armor. Even gyomei cant defeat him traditionally. In the final battle, both giyu and tanjiro unlock their dms and they are fully trained hashira level, still cant defeat Akaza.

Within the context of the imminently rising sun, Akaza would've died. Giyu's defense would've taken too long for him to figure out. And he lost when he had two hashira level fighters to fare against, and that was with the home advantage of the Infinity Castle.

If giyuu went to the mugen train, giyuu and rengoku would be able to hold akaza till sunrise and akaza would escape.
If Giyuu were there, Akaza would've likely taken it seriously and just wiped the floor with them. The only reason Rengoku was holding his own in the original movie was because Akaza wanted him to turn into a demon.

As you’ve seen in the manga, giyuu was so fast that it made afterimages of him while fighting akaza and even mentioned it himself. And also akaza knew all the water breathing forms and giyuu was still landing heavy blows on him. But akaza eventually adapted to it later somehow.

Just for context Marked Giyu(3rd strongest hashira+ marked tanjiro clearly stronger than giyu with his newly unlocked transparent world) barely won against akaza. If Akaza hadn't stopped the regeneration of his head who knows maybe they would've lost(pure plot armor lol)

Heres the plot twist after ch 321- after ch 321 in ch 322 geto will come back to life by the person who is going to be merged with humanity and destroy thw whole japan and only itadori sukuna megumi (sukuna vessel) will be there and yes all the other oerson will die including yuta after ch 273 yuta will eventually lose control over gojos body and die and from there sukuna will try to run as he only have left 1 arm becousre the hit of infinite void but itadori will catch sukuna and tengen will see that sukuna is loseing and sees his plan go wronge where sukuna will kill everyone but he didint and tengen will start to merge wit humanity and will come to destroysukuna and itadori but after 2-3 ch gojo will come back cause where yuta died but the brain is still left there and gojo will see an OPERCTUNITY of going back but geto tries to stop him but he dont listen and takes geto with him as well and by going in one body gojo is able to use his infinity geto ct and all the technique that yuta took from others and use sumunas domain expension and tryis to kill tengen but tengen is way more powerful then sukuna 20 fingers and gojo and the domain will not do any damage and tengen will break the domain with a singe attack both gojo and sukuna are shocked and then itadori which has fainted by using too much black flesh and wakes up at the next ch where tengen will beat sukuna as he is weakned and then he will come for gojo but gojo will use his domain and give tengen some damage but tengen also breaks the domain and attacks gojo and destorys his 1 hand and leg in one attack and then gojo will use reversed ct and heal himself but he can't heal himself anymore cause yuta has used all the cursed energy and he tries to protect himself with a simple domain but tengen uses his domain which is bigger then the whole Japan and he was about to kill gojo but then...

I'm sorry but that fight did not make sense, in the manga Giyuu LITERALLY fought Akaza with Tanjiro, and they were BOTH marked and still would have lost if not for Akaza self decapitating, and Infinity Castle Arc Tanjiro>>>Rengoku so if marked Tanjiro and Giyuu couldn't beat Akaza during Inf Castle Arc which they had both gotten stronger in, then how would Rengoku And Giyuu beat Akaza in Mugen Train Arc? Not to mention Akaza wouldn't get serious against them because, if i'm being honest, he wasn't even being serious against Giyuu and Tanjiro, only after he started regaining his memories and getting mad because of Tanjiro's comments, but before his head was cut off he was playing around and he was trying to talk with Giyuu and was still destroying both of them with ease, so in Mugen Train Arc which Giyuu didn't have his training from Hashira Arc, and Rengoku who was already very significantly losing in the 1v1 against Akaza, there's no way Akaza would take them seriously in mugen train, he would beat them both easily.

The way i see it.
◽Giyu saves Rengoku but akaza gets away. Akaza gets Punished to the point it takes a lot to recover.
◾ (Like In the Original timeline) Tanjiro goes to the Rengoku estate, but he learns more about Hinokami Kagura thanks to Rengoku present.
◽Rengoku makes inosuke, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu his Tsuguko's like he promised. They get trained and tanjiro gets stronger and he learns another move sun move.
◾They miss the entertainment district arc and tengen dies.
◽Tanjiro breaks his sword on his mission. and goes to the smith village. everything plays out the same except tanjiro has les s severe injuries and they learn that nezuko is immune after hatengu is eliminated meaning Nezuko was in the fields to help behead hatengu.
◾Everything plays out the same for the training except Rengoku takes tengens place as the stamina and endurance training. along with teaching breathe control.
(My reasoning is that giyu isn't strong enough to help rengoku behead akaza but enough to prevent his death. which makes sure that the plot stays similar with more replacements than additions or replacements)
