Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved? And if so, why did our Savior, nor the disciples, ever teach the doctrine of the Trinity? Why would Christ allow a council of men to come together to argue who God is (The Council of Nicaea in 325 CE), and thereby seek to define God? Can mankind define God? No, God reveals Himself to mankind. 1 John 5:7-8, The Johannine Comma is an interpolation according to Christian scholars (words added) to the Bible by over-zealous Trinitarians, who wanted some testimony to the Trinity, due to the fact that in the Bible there is none. Matthew 28:19 has come under suspicion, a commandment allegedly given by Christ to the disciples, but the disciples only baptized in the Savior’s name only, as demonstrated in the Book of Acts. The early church historian Eusebius, wrote (published circa 316 CE) in his book, Matthew 28:19, that Christ actually said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations in my name" (Eusebius, The History of the Church, p. 68, PENGU1N CLASSICS, 1965). The Trinity has only really existed since the 4th century. Historian H.G. Wells factually stated, "There is no evidence that the apostles of Jesus ever heard of the Trinity-at any rate from Him" (The Outline of History, Vol. 2, p. 499). Martin Luther is quoted in a sermon saying, "It is indeed true that the name 'Trinity' is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man" (The Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 3, p. 406, 1988). It is time that the false Trinity Doctrine cease to exist in Christianity! Catholics and Protestants agree that “Whoever will be saved: before all things, it is necessary to keep the Catholic faith… unless he keeps this faith whole, he will perish everlastingly...And the Catholic faith is this: we worship one God in Trinity” (Catholicism, p. 69, 1961). Protestant professor of Theology James White, states, “The Trinity doctrine is misunderstood as well as ignored. It is so misunderstood that a majority of Christians when asked, give incorrect and at times downright heretical definitions of the Trinity” (James White, The Forgotten Trinity, p. 16). According to James White, around 75% of Christians, who think themselves to be Trinitarians, are actually Modalists. One God who at different times represents Himself in three different modes of being: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. If belief in the Trinity doctrine is so critical to our salvation, then why did Christ and the disciples not preach the Trinity, which historically developed over 300 years after Christ? To say that one must believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, when Christ never stipulated the doctrine as a prerequisite for salvation is the grossest form of legalism! The man-made Trinity Doctrine is so ingrained into the imagination of Christians for salvation when Christ and the apostles never ever taught it, that many will actually stand condemned for believing in the Trinity according to the Tradition of men, and not of God. Christ warned us about teaching doctrines without one thus says the LORD! And He...said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…” He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition” (Mark 7:6-9). Christians do not need to believe in the Trinity in order to receive salvation and eternal life in the Kingdom of God! If Christians needed to believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, then it would be taught in the New Testament by our Lord and Savior, and it, the Trinity, was not taught in the New Testament. The Trinity is a useless Doctrine based solely on the misunderstanding of men. It is time for Christians to free themselves from the doctrines of men.

David Pawson was wrong on the Trinity. The doctrine of the Trinity is believed by Christians to be biblical, and those who believe it cite Matthew 28:18-20, or 1 John 5:7, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” These verses are the modern-day rendition identifying an interpolation, and so the question must be asked, “Did Christ in fact speak every word found in these verses?” The first Church Historian Eusebius (quotes Matthew 28:19 as it appeared in the early 4th century, Christ said, “Go and make disciples of all nations in My name” (Matthew 28:19, as it was originally quoted, Eusebius, The History of the Church, p. 68, Penguin Classics, 1965). Note, He never said, “...baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.” Which commandment did the disciples hear? It appears the latter quoted by Eusebius from an original manuscript of the NT, for there is no instance of the disciples ever baptizing anyone “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost,” according to the New Testament! On baptisms specifically were done in the name of {YAHSHUA}, Martin Luther notes, “The apostles certainly used this formula in baptizing in the name of Christ only, as we read in the Acts of the Apostles,’ citing Acts 2:38; 10:48; and 19:5” (Erik H. Herrmann, Paul W. Robinson, The Annotated Luther, Volume 3: Church and Sacraments. Fortress Press. p. 66, 2016). In a documented sermon, Martin Luther made this astonishing statement, “It is indeed true that the name ‘Trinity’ is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man” (The Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 3, 1988, p. 406).
The disciples of Christ, in the first two or more centuries, did not know of any doctrine of the Trinity. Historically, “There is no evidence that the apostles of Jesus ever heard of the trinity-at any rate from him” (H. G. Wells, The Outline of History, Vol. 2, p. 499, 1920). The so-called Great Commission, as written is an interpolation: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19, the words in italics were added centuries later). The disciples were to make disciples in His name and they were only baptizing in the name of Christ, as the NT gives evidence.
The formula is mentioned in the Didache (7:1-3), and it is mostly accepted as authentic due to its supporting manuscript evidence (Everett Ferguson, Baptism in the Early Church, 2013, pp. 134-5). Nevertheless, some scholars have held the view that the passage in the Didache is an interpolation as it is absent from the first few centuries of early Christian quotations, in which case it is believed it would be part of an apostolic or early Christian oral tradition from which both the received texts of Matthew and the Didache emerged, however, the conclusion is the church only baptized in the name of Christ. The view of the passage as an interpolation was in recent times maintained, and this particular line of opposing arguments by Trinitarians is pure eisegesis, meaning the process of interpreting a text in such a way as to introduce one's presuppositions, agendas, or biases, that artificially supports the Trinitarian formula, and based on interpolated verses added to the New Testament. Catholics and Protestants would agree with Protestant Theologian James White, who writes, “We hang a person’s very salvation upon the acceptance of the doctrine…We must know, understand, and love the Trinity to be fully completely Christian” (The Forgotten Trinity, pp. 14-15). And yet most other scholars know that the Trinity is beyond human understanding, “The mind of man cannot fully understand the mystery of the Trinity. He who has tried to understand the mystery fully will lose his mind, but he who would deny the Trinity will lose his soul” (Harold Lindsell and Charles Woodbridge, A Christian Handbook, pp. 51-52, 1953). Nowhere in the New Testament is believing in the Trinity a prerequisite for one’s salvation. Nowhere in the Bible did the LORD ever reveal Himself as a Trinity, or Triune God. Interpolations exist in the New Testament, which are words added later to prove the Trinity. Matthew 28:19 and 1 John 5:7 are proven interpolations, and therefore not of the original Scriptures. 1 John 5:7 is known as “The Johannine comma,” due to a sequence of extra words in 1 John 5:7-8 which appear in later versions of the Bible, but not in earlier Scriptures. Compare these words below in italics in the KJV and the same verse from the newer ESV.
"For there are three that bear record (witness) in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one" (1 John 5:7-8 KJV).
"For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree" (1 John 5:7-8, ESV).
These extra words are generally absent from the early Greek manuscripts. They only appear in the text in late medieval manuscripts, which were done by Trinitarians to bolster the man-made doctrine of the Trinity. The Trinitarian doctrine only existed since the 4th century! A religion unexamined is not worth having. Besides, most Christians when questioned about the Trinity prove to be Modalists, not Trinitarians (The Forgotten Trinity, p. 16). Christians have given examples of the Trinity, and one is the steam, water, and ice, which is not a good example for it only proves modalism. The Trinity is not so much a mystery as it is the doctrine of confusion, and we know that God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).

Answer attributes of ONE GOD to understand it better read it this way the Holy Ghost spoke the Word and became a Father. This leaves you with John 3:16. The word אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is interchangeable with Greek form
θεὸς (=theos), also standing for the title of God. At Hebrews 1/8 Paul cites Psalm 45/6:
'Your seat of government, oh God, remains throughout the duration of the Eon.'
That Psalm has אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim). Hebrews 1/8 has θεὸς (=theos), a singular form. The two words, therefore, have the same meaning. However - and you could hardly have dreamed it up - there is contention over it. Some polytheists like to say that אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is really a plural word and therefore indicates a plurality in the Godhead.
Think of the English words 'innings': it is not always plural. It can be singular ('a good second innings'), plural ('a duck in both innings'), and metaphorical ('She had a good innings', meaning a long life). We see just the same thing with the Hebrew word שָׁמַיִם (=shamayin): that also can be singular ('Heaven', 'sky'), plural ('heavens', skies'), and metaphorical ('God', 'exalted men'). It's just the same with אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim). As with 'innings', so also with אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim). And as with אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim), so also with שָׁמַיִם (=shamayim). And as with שָׁמַיִם (=shamayim), so also with innings. The word אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) can be used in the singular, plural, and metaphorically. The fact that אֱלֹהִ֑ים ends in a plural suffix ים (=im) does not mean that it is a plural word, just as our ending 's' does not mean that 'innings' is always plural. The writers of the post-Babylonian system, though, want it as a plural form because that would back up their idolatrous polytheism, worshipping 'the man Christ Jesus' as one of its gods (and worshipping the Angel of God as another of its gods).
In order to distinguish the one true God from the plurality of the Canaanites' gods, the prophet Moses said, 'Hear, Israel: Yahweh our Elohim is one Yahweh' (Deuteronomy 6/4). This was cited by Jesus the Messiah at Mark 12/32. God also said through His prophets that 'there is no one else beside Him' - see Deuteronomy 4/35, 4/39, Isaiah 40/3, 43/10-11, 44/6-8, 45/6, 45/18, 45/22, Zechariah 14/9 et cetera. Jesus, Paul and James stated that 'God is one' at Mark 10/18, Romans 3/30, 1 Corinthians 8/4-6, Galatians 3/20, Ephesians 4/5-6, 1 Timothy 1/17, 2/5, James 2/19, 1 John 5/7, Jude 25, and Revelation 4/2. אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) has a variety of meanings, but the most common is its singular form, as at Genesis 1/1: 'In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the Earth.' Gesenius's Hebrew lexicon says, אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is, among its meanings, 'in a singular sense, of one god ... of any divinity'. In Bullinger's Book of Job (see also his book The Divine Names andTitles), he gave the following definition of Elohim: 'ELOHIM is God, as the Creator, carrying out His will; God, standing in the relation of Creator to His creatures.'
At Exodus 7/1 אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is used for 'judge', singular (KJV has, wrongly, 'god', but another version explains, satisfactorily, 'in the role of God'). At Exodus 21/6, 21/22, 22/8-9, 22/28, and at Psalm 82/1 and 82/6, אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is in the plural, 'judges'. It is used in a negative sense for an idol or false 'god' (Exodus 12/12, 20/3, 20/23, 22/20, 23/13, 23/24, 23/32-33, et cetera). It is also in the plural form for false 'gods', (Exodus 18/11, 32/1, et cetera).
It is used for 'angels' (Psalm 8/5, 97/7, 97/9) - wrongly disputed by some as 'gods', wrongly since Hebrews 1/6, 2/7, and 2/9 confirm it as 'angels'.
And אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) is used metaphorically as 'mighty thunderings' at Exodus 9/28. One thing אֱלֹהִ֑ים (=elohim) most certainly does not mean is that the Creator 'Elohim' is a plurality of gods. The name 'Elohim' is interchangeable with 'Yahweh' and jointly with 'Yahweh Elohim', so that torpedoes any sense of God being a plurality. Any other 'gods' are idols. And 'Elohim' is just one of over 100 names and titles of the one true God.

TRINITY DOCTRINE IN A NUTSHELL: The whole square mathematical equation is not the same explanation of the ontological philosophy of the divine nature that was infused by Constantine the Great by his theologians and Greek philosophers who formulated the trinity doctrine to confuse people and not to question it so that they can be submissive to Ceasar in 325AD and thereafter. People must take philosophy to understand the trinity doctrine since philosphy was used to formulate it in the same place. Good luck my PhD's friends lol !
The Almiighty creator of heavens and earth used what is called "Agency' to delegate his " will" of his divine purpose for humans and his people Israel., it's not complicated since he used prophets, priests, kings, mediators, as his " authority agency" as any "Government" will use as "embassadors or Agents" .Adonai Elohim Creator also utilized the same method to communicate, to act , to judge, and to rule over his creation. That means , Moses was not 3 persons in one as the trinity doctrine suggests when he used his divine nature of the Holy Spirit operating upon him when departed the sea and rained plagues upon Egypt, or Elijah when stoped the heavens to rain , or Joshua when he stopped the sun, or when Yeshuah performed the same miracles like the prophets or patriarchs. Exodus 7:1 ; Psalms 82:1-6 ; John 10:34-36 ; 1Corinthians 8:5,6 ; John 20:17 ; John 17: 3 ; Matthew 10:5,6 Messiah sent his disciples to gather the lost sheep of Israel as "agents or apostles" operating in the same Holy Spirit.
So, the Almighty God creator has his own existence as the sovereigned spirit being, the Messiah also has his owon existence as the Son of God as well the all the angels of God. there is not such a thing in the Bible that there are 3 in 1 as separate persons or manifestations and yet being one spirit being. There is only one true Creator and one mediator or Agency. They are 2 distinct separate spirit beigns which it is completely different. Find out more about how it works.

      1) As claimed by trinity believers, the trinity is a mystery and beyond the comprehension of its believers:
      REVELATION - is LIGHT
MYSTERY - is darkness or unrevealed
      2) Therefore, it's a LIE when the trinity believers say that the trinity is clear they understand it.

      TEST:
"John 4:1 BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
THE SPIRIT THAT IS OF GOD:
"4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God."
To confess that JESUS CHRIST is a MAN is tantamount to confessing that JESUS CHRIST is come in the flesh because MAN/JESUS CHRIST is FLESH even after his resurrection (Luke 24:39) -- THIS IS THE SPIRIT THAT IS OF GOD/PRO-CHRIST.
      THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST:
"4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world."
To confess that Jesus Christ is "God" is tantamount to confessing that JESUS CHRIST is not come in the flesh because GOD is a SPIRIT (John 4:24) -- THIS IS THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST/FALSE PROPHETS.
Therefore, the people in the world who believe and confess that Jesus Christ is "God"/god the son, god the Word, mighty god, creator god, man god are antichrists/false prophets/deceivers and deceived (1John 4:3, 2John 1:5-7).

Here are some direct words of the Lord Jesus Christ
      John 5:22 -23
"Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him."
      - Jesus the Christ
      Matthew 9:2-8
'Some people brought him a paralyzed man on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Cheer up, friend! Your sins are forgiven.” Then some of the experts in Moses’ Teachings thought, “He’s dishonoring God." Jesus knew what they were thinking. He asked them, “Why are you thinking evil things? Is it easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, pick up your stretcher, and go home.” So the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe and praised God for giving such authority to humans.'
      John 10:30
"I and the Father are one"
      - Jesus the Christ
      John 10:26
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand."
      - Jesus the Christ.
Here are some interesting things Jesus said too:
      Mark 10:18
"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
      John 14:12
"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father."
      - Jesus the Christ
      John 14:28
'You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.'
      - Jesus the Christ
      Matthew 12:32
"Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."
      - Jesus the Christ
      Luke 22:10
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."
      - Jesus the Christ
      Matthew 26:28
"This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
      - Jesus the Christ
      Matthew 7:22-23
"Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
      - Jesus the Christ
      Mark 14:61
But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?"
      "I am," said Jesus.
"And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
      - Jesus the Christ
      Matthew 16:16
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven."
I hope you find these words helpful and that your intentions are noble. May you find God through His Son who is the Truth and the Way and the Life.

God instituted death. You will surely die. So God needs to keep his promise. His word is above all. The word has always existed because the Word is God.
So why did God the Word need to come in flesh. Because God would not be legal on earth without a body. Jesus the Christ has 2 natures.
A human nature and a God nature. Mary is not the mother of God the Christ she provided the human body Jesus the man. Jesus will judge in the end no excuse as Jesus was tempted in everyway every man has been tempted but was sinless. So who best to judge us. Jesus paid the human price that God required. Death.

Many Christian denominations that teaches the Trinity. However, notice what the Encyclopedia Britannica states: “Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies.” Lets examine what scriptures says:
"Head of woman is man. Head of man is Christ. Head of Christ is God. 1 Cor 11:3 -
"After Jesus brings about Kingdom blessings to earth, he will hand over the Kingdom to his God and Father - 1 Cor 15:24
“Jehovah (Yahweh) our God is one Jehovah.”-Deuteronomy 6:4.
“You, whose name is Jehovah (Yahweh) , you alone are the Most High over all the earth.”-Psalm 83:18.
For I have not spoken of my own initiative, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak.50 And I know that his commandment means everlasting life. So whatever I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.” John 12:49
“This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”-John 17:3.
      “God is only one.”-Galatians 3:20.
      “My Father is greater than I [Jesus].”-John 14:28. *
“Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’” .”-John 20:17.
“To us there is but one God, the Father.”-1 Corinthians 8:6.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”-1 Peter 1:3.
“These things saith the Amen [Jesus], . . . the beginning of the creation of God.”-Revelation 3:14. *
"No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is at the Father’s side is the one who has explained Him". John 1:18
“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Mathew 7:21
"Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One.10 Neither be called leaders, for your Leader is one, the Christ.11 But the greatest one among you must be your minister" Mathew 23.9
Acts 17 29 “Therefore, since we are the children* of God, we should not think that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, like something sculptured by the art and design of humans. 30 True, God has overlooked the times of such ignorance; but now he is declaring to all people everywhere that they should repent. 31 Because he has set a day on which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and he has provided a guarantee to all men by resurrecting him from the dead.”
Acts 2:32 God resurrected this Jesus, and of this we are all witnesses.
"Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’ Mathew 7:22-23
As someone once said, "The only way to understand the trinity is to lose your sense of logic and become so confused to the point where you accept anything".

No, we say we would like "an egg" The shell would represent Jesus because it has to be broken to enter in to find the Father - represented here by the yoke; the part of the trinity that has the power to create. We must go through Jesus to approach God the father. Then around the Father is the Holy Spirit that can run where it will, here we see the white of the egg that leaves the shell that houses the Father thus being freely sent by the father.

God cannot die, so it is an oxymoron to say that God gave himself to die. You discredit God for making man to have freewill and the human nature that we have with the propensity to sin, but with the potential to be sinless. That is what Jesus achieved and proved was possible and vindicates God. To say the God died and raised himself is an impossibility and a fudge. If you believe God died instead of Jesus as a man, then you diminish the accomplishment and victory that Jesus won and wins the victory for us. If you believe it was God that died and raised himself, then you give an excuse for people to say; it is impossible for any human to be sinless, therefore, God should not hold us accountable for something that is impossible to attain. God gave Adam and Eve a test and they failed. God gave the ten commandments and we have all failed, except Jesus who proved it possible.

    • @acts10truth
      @acts10truth 4 роки тому

@@bramleycookingapple I think you are misunderstanding what people mean when they say that God died for us. Jesus was God come in the flesh. So being both man and God then, yes God did die as a human and did (in a sense) raise himself. Jesus expressed countless times that he and the Father were separate being yet he stated
"My Father and I are one"
I received the infilling ( or baptism of) the holy ghost when I was but 18. Now 50 years later I do understand the being one with Christ. We humans are not in the kingdom of God but are mere citizens looking at the far off city that we long to be in, we have a hard time knowing how things work there, we can only see from a flesh view while using examples of how this must relate to there. We have the Bible to teach us after we are filled to really see with the mind the kingdom and our king

    • @bramleycookingapple
      @bramleycookingapple 4 роки тому +3

@@acts10truth Thank you for your reply. You are correct in saying there is a misunderstanding; not that I see that on my part. It is important we clear up misunderstandings between us.
I am of a similar age to you and have come across many interpretations of God/s word, many of which are simply false. However, I understand that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, but that said, Jesus was not God. God is one; there is none beside him. God is spirit and not flesh. God is an entirely different substance. God and Jesus were one in mind and purpose. Jesus was in the bosom of his heavenly father.
Jesus had to be of flesh. If he was of any other substance like God, that would have been a fudge. Jesus had to be the perfect man, of whom God knew that with the correct guidance from youth could lead a perfect life. Jesus had to live that perfect life even if it meant him suffering in the process.
God did not offer himself as the perfect sacrifice to take away sin, but offered his only begotten son. as stated in John 3:16. So long as that is what we both believe, we are in agreement. So whilst God is not made of flesh and cannot be, Jesus is God's representative and ambassador in the flesh. Jesus tells us that all he heard from his Father, he has told us. We have the endorsement of God himself concerning Jesus; "this is my son; hear him". Jesus is also that prophet spoken of by Moses, about whom we are to listen to and obey.
Given we accept Jesus was born of flesh and not of the spirit substance of that God is, we also know this fact, that when Jesus was resurrected his body was transformed from flesh that was corruptible into a body that is incorruptible. We would not claim to be God, though at the resurrection, we shall be given the same incorruptible body that Jesus has now. As it is written; "we shall be like him".
May those who read our messages and who are searching for truth, might find our understanding of these things useful.

      So
      Stop ✋
      This subject is complex
But what this teacher is laying out here is the reason the trinity was finally settled in because it’s the best understanding that allows the Bible text to say what it says. Mean what it means. And stick to it
Jesus is connected to YHWH. Tons of times
He’s the alpha and omega in revelation.
Yet YHWH is the only alpha and omega. ?! Right?
Unless there are two alpha and omegas this makes no sense
He is the alpha and omega. YHWH is The alpha and omega
      This is the text
If you want to trust the Bible as your basis of truth you have to accept what it says wether you grasp HOW or not
That’s not your role. To pick apart things and have them all make perfect. Limited human sense to you
There are tons of these kinds of things about Jesus
I encourage you to open your mind
Listen to actual scholars in the biblical history and texts
NOT the watchtower or other pseudo biblical groups. If you are , I don’t now if you are
But they know very little about this topic though they come off as if they alone understand it
      They don’t
I will admit. That either way you go , it’s not perfectly clear.
But the issues this man is bringing up and others. Are real. And you need to hear it and look at it
Then pray and decide as best you can
I do not find the understanding of this to be. A salvation issue. Despite the watchtowers saying it is, it’s not
      But it is important

As a young Catholic Trinitarian I attended a Christian Brothers school. We were inundated with lessons on the Trinity from the Catechism but we never seen the inside of the Bible…in fact we never seen the Bible. So in later years I found it to be a most fascinating book. Being taught that Jesus was God, I was surprised to read in later years that Jesus was described as a prophet.
Jesus was prophesied by God when speaking to Moses at Deuteronomy 18:18: “I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.”
How was this promised prophet “like unto” Moses?
Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness: Matt. 4:2, Luke 4:2; Luke 22:20
Moses fasted 40 days: Exodus 34:28
God established the [old] covenant through Moses, and promised a new covenant at Jeremiah 31:31
God established the “new covenant” through Jesus. Matt 26:28, Mark 14:24, Luke 22:20, Hebrews 9:15
Peter identifies this ‘prophet’ that God would ‘raise up’ as Jesus, in Acts 3:22,23.
See also: Malachi 3:1: Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.
So we see that Jesus is like unto Moses.
Now we examine the rest of Deut 18:18: … “I will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak all that I COMMAND him.”
    Jesus confirms those words:
John 8:42 ASV: Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but HE SENT ME.
John 12:49,50: “For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak”
John 5:30: “I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
John 14:31: but in order for the world to know that I love the Father, even as THE FATHER HAS GIVEN ME COMMANDMENT [to do], so I am doing. Get up, let us go from here.
So dear friends “I have presented in plain and simple terms, lessons as I have gained from my own experience, and all else that I have been able to discover for the purposes of this work. And it is enough for a good man to have taught what he knows.”
Marcus Fabius Quintilianus (Institutio Oratoria, A.D. 100)

There is one verse that debunks the Trinity in a jiffy, which shows that Christ HAS a God, his Father. It says so 4 times in that single verse:
"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of MY GOD, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of MY GOD, and the name of the city of MY GOD, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from MY GOD: and I will write upon him my new name" Revelation 3:12
The Trinity is a pagan and Catholic teaching.

      Edupier
Rev3:12 in no way refutes your claim that this verse debunks the Trinity in a jiffy
      Let’s examine this.
First look at John 20:17 I go to my Father and your father to my God and your God.
Now let’s not forget the verse you brought up Rev 3:12 where Jesus also addressed Jehovah as My God four times in the same verse. So let’s look at scripture and answer the question:
      Does Jesus have a God?
Look at Jer 32:27 - “Here I am Jehovah the God of all flesh.” So here we learned that Jehovah is the God of all flesh. Now let’s continue with John 1:1-14 where it starts out “In the beginning” (before time existed) was the Word. And the Word was with God (face to face in a personal relationship with the Father) And the Word was God (the Word having all the nature and essence that makes the Father God by our definition that being omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent) Go to verse 14: So the Word became flesh and resided among us. “
Who is the Word that became flesh in this verse? Jesus, right? Now read Philippians 2:6-8 “who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
      ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭NASB‬‬
If the eternal Word became flesh should it be a surprise to us that the Father would become his God the moment the Word became flesh? (go back to Jeremiah 33:27 “Here I am Jehovah the God of all flesh.” )
look at Psalm 22:10 a prophecy about the promised Messiah to answer this question : I have been entrusted to your care from birth. From my mothers womb you have been my God.
Was Jesus born from the womb of his mother Mary? Yes
With the above scriptures we can see since Jesus was born with a body of flesh and continues to have a glorified body of flesh (just as we will when we are resurrected (Philippians 3:20-21) than it would be appropriate for Jesus to declare his Father, God.
I hope this clarifies this for you.

@@randmanooooo Clarifies? Not in the least.
      "And the Word was God"
Undoubtedly a wrong translation. To begin with you can't be with someone who happens to be you. It's absurd and ludicrous. Second and foremost, that translation crashes against a crystal clear declaration of Jesus himself in regards of who the true God is:
"And this is eternal life, that they may know YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" John 17:3
It is backed up by the Apostle:
"yet FOR US THERE IS ONE GOD, THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and throhre ugh whom we live" 1 Corinthians 8:6
If the Father is the only true God, then Jesuschrist cannot be God, but the IMAGE of God (Colossians 1:15). An image can't be the object it reflects.

@@randmanooooo “Jehovah…” (Yehovah) It is widely used in many churches. It is considered by many Christians to be hollowed, and many beautiful hymns also endear it, however, this name “Jehovah” is a concoction of man. Therefore, it is a “mongrel,” a “hybrid,” and it is “fantastic,” a fantasy, and it is “monstrous!” There is something very wrong with this euphonious name Jehovah. Therefore, the name of Jehovah was a name never revealed by the LORD. The facts have only to be known to justify this verdict. What are the facts?
Ever since the Babylonian invasion of the Kingdom of Judea, and the enforced diaspora of its noble class in 597 BCE, the Jews have had a strong penchant for hiding the name of the LORD (YHWH) from the Gentiles, thus preventing them from potentially profaning the LORD’s name revealed to Moses (specifically the name of YAH, “HaYAH”, as found in Exodus 3:13-15). YAH is “the name which is above every name.” Readers in the synagogues would inadvertently attempt to pronounce the LORD’s name, as there were no vowels in the Hebrew words within the Hebrew Bible [or known as “The Old Testament”] when coming upon God’s name: YHWH. Later, the Jewish clergy developed the practice, around the 1100s of adding Hebrew vowels created by the Masoretes, to the Tetragrammaton [Gr. word for the four consonant letters of the LORD's name]. The vowels were taken from at least three other Hebrew words, namely, Adonay (meaning Lord, with the vowels of a-o-ai causing the hybrid name YaHoWaiH, or later shortened to YAHWEH), Eloah (meaning God, with the vowels of e-o-a causing YeHoWaH later Jehovah or Yehovah), and Elohim (meaning Gods, with the vowels of e-o-i causing YeHoWiH, as shown in Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words # 3069). These hybrid names were never meant to form any legitimate name for the LORD but were placed there to remind the readers in the synagogues to say, “Adonay” instead of attempting to pronounce the LORD’s actual name.
How was this euphonious name, Jehovah, propagated?
Later in Medieval times, the Roman Catholic Church was known to raid Jewish synagogues, take their gold, and the Hebrew Scriptures [the Old Testament], and persecute Jews. Raymondus Martini was a 13th century Dominican friar and theologian. He is remembered for his book called “Pugio Fidei” (in the year 1270 CE). Finding the absconded Hebrew Scriptures in the Dominican Library, and believing he had discovered the name of God, he used the name Iehovah (or Iehova) in his book not understanding that these vowels were not original to the LORD’s actual name. The name and pronunciation of “Jehovah,” (and also the name Jesus unknown until the 17th century) were essentially unknown in the years before 1520 CE, when introduced and propagated by Peter, Galatinus (1450-1540), he held the office of penitentiary under pope Leo X. His chief work De Arcanis Catholicae Veritatis, a book, written at the request of the pope, the emperor, and other dignitaries, in the year 1516 CE, as he also used the name Iehovah in his book. The name Iehovah was altered with the addition of the letter J, which was a recent addition to the English alphabet in the 17th century. Galatinus also did not know of the Jewish practice of adding vowels from an entirely different word. He did not know that the vowels found around the Tetragrammaton YeHoWaH were from the Hebrew word Eloah, and if he did, he did not care. Noted Bible scholar J. B. Rotherham, essentially stated, “To give YHWH (Latin: IHVH and later JHVH) the vowels of the word (ELOAH) to remind the Jewish reader to say, ‘Adonay,’ and to be pronounced by the Christians, ‘Jehovah,’ is about as hybrid a combination as it would be to spell the name of Germany with the vowels of Portugal-viz., Gormuna” (The Emphasized Bible, J. B. Rotherham, Kregel Publication, 1994, Pp. 24-25). Jehovah in its present hybrid form has only existed since the 17th century. Fact: The LORD’s essential name is YAH, and Bible scholars have acknowledged YAHWEH (see Strong’s #3050), as in “Praise YAH,” Hebrew: “Halleluyah!” The English “Hallelujah” is a misnomer. YAH is “the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), and YAHSHUA is the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and this name is to be known among every language, and tongue, as the essential revealed name of the LORD according to the Gospel (Philippians 2:11), YAH, as in HaYAH (the I AM). The Savior identified His name as “I AM” (YAH, see John 8:58). The prophet Isaiah identified the name of salvation as YAH (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV). And “shua” means “my help”, as in “my salvation.” To reject the revealed name of YAHSHUA, which was given by the angel (Matthew 1:21) is to stand condemned (John 3:18). YAHSHUA is shortened from the name YAHOSHUA, which is commonly spelled Yehoshua largely due to the Jewish practice of hiding the name YAH, by adding vowels to YHWH, the Tetragrammaton, from the Hebrew vowels of Eloah, which caused the false Yeh, as a result, scholars would consider YAHOSHUA a philological impossibility, however, they are mistaken.
What does the name Jehovah mean in Hebrew?
Je-hovah, “hovah” in Hebrew means, “Ruin, Mischief, and Calamity” (see Strong’s #1942, #1943). The Jewish Encyclopedia, states, under the name “Jehovah,” “This name is commonly represented in modern translations by the form Jehovah, which, however, is a philological impossibility” (p. 160). The Jehovah’s Witnesses admittedly make a similar reference that the name Jehovah is inferior, in their book: Let Your Name Be Sanctified (p. 16). Undoubtedly, the name Jehovah is not the revealed name of the LORD! Many Christian clergy know the truth that the name Jehovah is bogus. Still, due to their tradition, or the fact that this name erroneously appears in the King James Version of the Bible, they hold to this euphonious name for the sake of their tradition, which makes void the revelation of God (Mark 7:6-7). The Lord has a warning for them, “And now, O priests (pastors and teachers), this commandment is for you. If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” says the LORD of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, Yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart” (Malachi 2:1-2). Satan is deceiving the whole world (Revelation 12:9). Despite being told the truth of the one name of salvation, YAHSHUA, they will hold to the name Jesus and Jehovah, despite never having been revealed by the LORD. Many will reject the name YAHSHUA leaving only a few, and being of the many despite the admonishment: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). The name Jesus was never revealed by the LORD, or an angel of the Lord, and history proves this, as eminent historian Ernest Renan acknowledged that the Savior was never in His lifetime called “Jesus” (The Life of Jesus, p. 90). The name Jesus, in its present form, has only existed since the 17th century.

Starting from Proverbs 30:4 the sage Agur’s declaration is that knowledge of the one throne creator God is the highest study anyone can undertake. Yet he as a humble man declares that this one God Yahweh is Father and Son, which is in line with the rest of the scripture that shows the one God being Father Son and Spirit. Passages such as Hebrews 1 shows Christ having the very same nature as the Father along with the Father himself calling the Son Lord God and attributes creation to the Son. Philippians 2 also shows Christ as having the same inner nature (Form) as the Father which is Deity, but the Son volunteers to set aside certain glories and took on a human body and the form (inner nature) as a servant, thus Paul declares in Titus 2:13 “awaiting the appearing of our great God and savior Jesus Christ. In Psalms 49 we are told that a man cannot die and pay for the sins of another man, and further down in that same chapter God is the one that would by putting on a human body but being born in the truest sense of the word being fully man and fully God. As the scripture that shows That all fullness of deity dwelt in Christ Jesus. There are many many more scripture that shows the one God Yahweh existing as Father and Son and the Holy Spirit. In Revelation 19, 21 and 22 I’d xcgt
Proverbs 30:4 Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!
5 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
6 Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.
John 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
Isaiah 40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?
13 Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD, or what man shows him his counsel?
4 he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.
5 He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. (Psalms 104:4, ESV)
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. (Revelation 19:12, ESV)

Jesus is God's only-begotten son, he died as a sacrifice to God, was raised from the dead by God, and returned to heaven to sit at the right-hand of God. I have 5 different bibles that have Jehovah as God's name, two that have Yahweh, and one that has the Hebrew name YHWH as God's name. NONE of them have Jesus as God's name.
The fact that you have to even explain your point proves that it is false. I get from my bibles that God and Jesus are two separate beings.
Rev. 1:1 "A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him..."
What do you have to gain by teaching that Jesus is God? That does more harm than any good. So what religion are you if you are not a trinitarian? The convoluted explanations came from somewhere, not the bible. Who is your leader?

Bo Stephens , That's thee biggest convoluted mess I ever heard, and totally unnecessary. God the father is Jehovah. He's the father of Jesus. Jesus died, so he can't be God. If you don't believe that Jesus died, you are still dead in your sins. God furnished a guarantee to all by resurrecting Jesus from the dead.
At the end of the 1000 year Kingdom, Jesus subjects himself and the finished kingdom to God, so that God is once again all things everyone without the need for Jesus to act as a mediator. 1Corin. 15. You ignore what I give or pervert it with illogical reasoning, exactly what trinitarians do.
"A revelation by Jesus Christ, WHICH GOD GAVE HIM" (as His Word). What you are trying ti say is, "A revelation by God, which God gave to God..." I grew up having to listen to convoluting reasoning in the Catholic Church. I left those lies for truth, and you only have a convoluted version of the church's Nicene Creed, the pre-runner of the Athanasian Creed defining the mystery of the trinity.
Go ahead and believe what you want. I believe in God and his son who died for me. That's a fundamental bible teaching.
Do you believe that Jesus died for us? If you don't, you are not saved.

If there are three then it mean 3 gods, that's what trinity dogma really is, paganism incorporated into Christianity which the Bible condemned.
When we see you we don't see your husband because you're two different person, but Jesus said when you see Him you see the Father God! Why? Because Jesus Is God in human form, it a different Oneness from between husband and wife.

The trinity makes so much sense because:
Whenever God wants to do something with his almighty he first wills it, then he does it. That’s how God always works, first willing something and then doing it.
For example: How does God make it that he is eternal. He does the following.
First God wills to be eternal and then he uses the power to realize this will.
so the commandment that God gave himself to be eternal has always existed, he never created it, it has always been there. Also, the power of God which implements this commandment that he is eternal has always existed, he never created it
So these things have always existed:
God, the word of God (Jesus) and the power of God that implements the word of God (Holy Spirit)
Only God is eternal because to be eternal you have to be omnipotent , that is why the word of God and the power of God that implements his word (Holy Spirit) are God.
That’s why the the Bible makes soooo much sense when it says
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.
It makes soooo much sense why there HAS TO BE three persons that are one God, and not only one person.
If there is an omnipotent being it has to be always triunion otherwise he can’t exist

Hi David, I am asking the question, and I do not doubt the deity of Christ but I am questioning father (spirit) and holy spirit. I believe they are the same. I don't have a problem with the definition of the trinity, I believe the father (God) is spirit who we worship in spirit and in truth. I can't find any difference in the scriptures that separate the father and the Holy spirit as we can by the word became flesh.
This is not a personal attack but a very deep reflection of the connection by father and holy spirit. I believe they are the same.
I pray and ask if you read this to reflect as I am, find Scripture that brings the father and holy spirit as one but separate without inclusion of Christ because the deity of Christ is not in question.

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved?

If Jesus is not the Holy Spirit, then what Spirit is the apostle Paul meaning, and which Lord, in the following verse? 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Also, if Jesus is not the Holy Spirit then did the apostle Peter make a mistake? For he said that the Spirit of Christ was in the prophets that spoke of the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow:
1 Peter 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Peter the apostle, in his second letter identified the same 'Spirit of Christ' as the Holy Ghost:
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Trinity doctrine categorically states that the Son is not the Holy Ghost, how then does this exemplify the above passages of scripture?

I know... weird but that’s my brain.
I really like this lecture on the Trinity.
I believe in the Trinity but do find it confusing at times-which is why I wish he would’ve turned to and discussed/clarified actual scriptures.
It just would of helped more because he’s good at breaking down GOD’S Word.

@@staceygrove7295 Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved?

The book explores an early Jewish doctrine, which understood that within in the scriptures are clearly seen two powers that seem to be the same YHWH.
    This doctrine predates Christ.
After the birth of Christianity following Jesus death and resurrection, it was soon denounced as a heresy!
Interestingly it was denounced as a heresy because it was very similar to what the early Christian’s were teaching about triune nature of God, specifically holding both Jesus and the father to be God.

The Majestic plural is not referred to in protestantism in that regard and the plural ending "im" is not necessarily or specifically referring to three... though a case for the Trinity is scripturally accumulable.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Seeing that Christ is God and is also with God (the Father), this defeats the argument of a literal one God; it’s also not too hard to find the Spirit referenced in scripture as God also. To believe that Jesus is God is to disregard the bible as a whole. It is not surprising then that Cardinal Hosius is quoted as having said: “We believe the doctrine of a triune God, because we have received it by tradition, though not mentioned at all in Scripture.” (Conf. Cathol. Fidei, Chap. XXVI). Another persons are just as frank about declaring the trinity to be of pagan origin is Arthur Weigall, in his book The Paganism in Our Christianity, states: “Jesus Christ never mentioned such a phenomenon, and nowhere in the New Testament does the word ‘Trinity’ appear.” Jeff Rath writes the following in his book - Historical Background of the Trinity “The trinity originated with Babylon, and was passed on to most of the world’s religions. The idea of “God the Son” is Babylonian paganism and mythology that was grafted into Christianity.

Even the Pope recently has been quoted as saying that Jesus is not God. I have included the links to prove this.
ua-cam.com/video/jVz8CGkRieo/v-deo.html . Note the following link which the Vatican did not deny these claims. ua-cam.com/video/etmDA1zNPyE/v-deo.html .
John 17:3 encourages us “And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth”.
1 John 2:3 reiterates this importance by stating “And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments”.
1John:6 gives us this warning about our worship to God: “So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. - New Living Translation. So consider the following.
Another blatant scriptural fact that Christendom ignores and does not teach is, that unlike God whose name is Jehovah, Jesus is God’s first creation, and had a beginning (which is correct when John 1:1 reads that in the beginning the word was with God… Since God has no beginning, this isn’t talking about God, but Jesus, which is clearly the main reason he is not God.
This is what Colossians 1:15 says about Jesus: “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation” - New International Version. This is why Jesus is described as God’s only begotten or first born son. It not only says that Jesus was God’s first creation in Colossians 1:15 but in 8 other verses in the bible also. Please read also Revelation 3:14, Psalms 89:27, Proverbs 8:22, 27 to 30, Hebrews 1:5&6, Romans 1:7, Matthew 3:16&17 & John17:3 & 8, Psalms 89:27 to confirm this for yourself. Can you categorically deny that these scriptures say that Jesus was God’s first creation?
Nowhere in the bible does God Jehovah, Jesus, or the Apostles say that Jesus is God. In fact the opposite is true and factual since Jehovah God himself states that he is alone God. Psalms 83:18 which reads “That men may know that you, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, are the most high over all the earth” - American King James Version.
Isaiah 42:8 says “I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images” American Standard Version. Also confirmed in Exodus 34:14 says “For thou shalt worship no other God; for Jehovah -- Jealous is his name -- is a jealous God;” - Darby Bible Translation.

Jesus himself stated that he is not God. In fact many times he said he was not God. John 20:17 reads “Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” New King James Version.
At Mark 15:34 it also reads “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” New King James Version. Jesus knew that he was not God, because he instructed that worship should be directed to his Father Jehovah and not to him.
Mark 10:18 states “"Why do you call me good?" Jesus asked him. "Nobody is good except for one-God. - International Standard Version.
The apostles also confirms this for us.
What is interesting is that everything written about Jesus after John was completed after his return to heaven. So 1Corinthians 11:3 also confirms that Jesus was not God in heaven also since it reads: “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God” New King James Version.
Hebrews 1:8 & 9 says; ”But about the Son, he says: “God is your throne forever and ever, and the sceptre of your Kingdom is the sceptre of uprightness. You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions.”
Jesus himself many times, but note what he says towards the end of his life on Earth, at John 14:28 : “You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I”. - New King James Version.
The bible is very clear on this point. Jehovah is God, and Jesus is his first creation which he calls his first born. 1John 4:9 & 10 states: “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” - New King James Version.

To all those sceptics in the comments below, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, is the one and same God, manifesting in different forms. The Bible says so. This is not complicated. It's obvious even without being a scholar. If Jesus were not God (1) his sacrifice would have been meaningless since a human being cannot provide atonement once and for all, for humanity and (2) Christians wouldn't have been persecuted. Even other religions are happy to accept a purely human Jesus. He is no threat to anyone as merely a Prophet, Teacher or a good man. Wake up! Don't be deceived. God is One God and he has manifested as Jesus to be a sacrifice for us and as the Holy Spirit, our Counsellor and Advisor. And He will return again soon to this earth. So instead of arguing theories, let us focus on doing His will & pray hard that we will not miss Him.

Dear Eunice! Pawson was one the greatest bible teachers of our time but he was wrong abut the trinity issue. But let me first adress the two points you raised:
      1) A human being can atone for our sins if God accepts the sacrifice. God provided the solution in Abraham's case aswell - a ram.
      2) Christians are persecuted because they are (supposed to be) radically different, light in darkness and darkness hates light! Christians are a living testimony against the evil of men and their hate for God.
And I agree - instead of fruitless argument let's pray fervently.

@@tpv59 I uderstand your position but I'm not especially convinced at this point. I'm aware that historically in order to be considered a 'Christian' a commitment to the trinity is the first thing required. Deny this and you're not, according to most Christians, a Christian by definition. But I realise that you've already established that your position on that is different than the norm and take a different view so don't expect you to take anything from that point.
I've no idea why you take umbrage at Christians/trinitarians baptising in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit given Matt 28:19, the great commission coming from the mouth of Jesus himself?
I'd also wonder how you approach 1 John 4:8 which states that 'God is love,' which I understand has forever been in the trinitarian's quiver where they're able to substantiate what this verse claims given the relational and eternal nature of the distinct, intra- and everloving personhood of each person of the trinity from before the creation of the world. If God is unitarian, how is he love if he had no beloved?
What also do you make of the use of 'echad' of Gods oneness in the shema which can denote unity and harmony, the same word used in Gen 2:24 for 'one flesh' when talking of sexual union, and which Jews after the rise of Christians began employing 'yachid,' which always denotes solitary, numerical oneness, to describe God when God is never refererred to using this word in the text? If the word of God wanted to be unquestionably clear, why wasn't this word used in the text to describe God?
I also dismiss KJVOnlyism - Isaiah 45:7 having God the creator of evil? Lol no. V poor choice of words. Similarly the conflation of hades/sheol and Gehenna when using the same word 'hell' in the translation isn't helpful.
A titbit that I really like about the the idea of the fundamental property of the number 3 in the context of the trinity is it's the most basic base of mathmatics that necessarily follows from 1 i.e. if you have 1, conceptually it follows that it would be possible to have x2 1's, which equals 2. From 2, you then have the conceptual possibility of taking that 2 (the result of the first move of adding the two 1's, i.e. x2 1's,) and adding the very first preceding number (1) to that (being 2) to make 3. It's the sum of all fundamental options that are available to you and follow on necessarily from starting from 1. Anything beyond this is superfluous as you'd only be repeating the principle of the same, foundational steps previously established between and getting to 1, 2 and 3. Nothing new comes of it, whereas with each step between in getting from 1 - 3, it's a wholly new, previously unthought of/unexecuted step/principle each and everytime. I don't know if this means anything to you but it speaks to me a lot for some reason and relate it to the triune God as the foundation of everything.
A final question I'd ask and am always interested in hearing responses to this - and it's not necessarily an arguement *for* the trinity (or anything else) as such, more just a challenge to those who oppose a mainstream position in these types of matters - by virtue of the dominance of trinitarian theology in Christianity, from your perspective hasn't God done a pretty bad job in communicating who He is? Or at least a bad job in safeguarding and promoting the truth of unitarianism? Do you consider God a failure in this regard, in your view?
I know I'm not especially learned in these things so am open to hearing your view, and appreciate your previous response and any further ones.

I watched this video to see if there were any good arguments for the trinity. I noticed that he says twice that the new testament teaches that there is one God but does not quote any of the references even though he quotes a lot in his talk. When the new testament talks about there being one God, it says "one God and father of all" Ephesians 4, "there is one God the father and one lord jesus christ" 1 corinthians 8 v 6, ," there is one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy. Jesus in John 17 v 3 says, "this is eternal life that they may know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. None of these include Jesus. It looks as if he has deliberately not quoted these verses. I've noticed others doing the same thing.

my point was that Mr. Pawson says the new testament teaches that there is one God but does not give any references. I quoted the references he could have given but it is obvious why he could not quote them, and that is because they state that the one God is the father alone. You ignore my argument because you can't answer it. A bit like the pharisees. If we say this, he'll say that and if we say this he'll say that. And so they said we don't know.

Jesus is obviously a man (one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus), conceived by the holy spirit which is why he is called the son of God as stated in Luke 1 v 35 "therefore that holy thing shall be called the son of God". The book of Acts seems to portray Jesus as a man, God's messiah (anointed), God's servant. Nothing too complicated for the speakers in Acts, such as Peter, Paul, and Steven. " Jesus" the flesh of God." another verse says to whom is the "arm of the Lord revealed" an arm is part of a body not a separate person. The words persons are a poor way to describe the nature of God. "there are 3 that bear record in heaven the father, the word, and the Holy Spirit and these 3 are one. 1 John 5:7. The 3 are one not 3 separate and distinct "persons" Muslims see trinitarians as polytheistic and kill them for this idolatry. Jesus said that he has revealed the fathers name to his disciples. What is that name. Isaiah 9:6 says that the son to be born would be called the "father" can be confusing if you try to make the son and father separate "persons" Check out the sermons of the New Testament none talk of the "trinity" the word was invented hundreds of years later. God said that there is no savior beside him. So trying to picture the "son" on a separate throne next to God is inaccurate at best.

@@Cotronixco Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be saved?

Its is conceptually very frazzling to try to reconcile trinity into monotheism (different definitions, monotheism is one vs tri is three) no matter how you try to justify it.
    1. In studying comparative religions, I found Abraham preached monotheism (one God who sent him as a prophet ), Moses preached monotheism (one God who sent him as a prophet). So far none have claimed divinity.
    2. Then Jesus comes (earlier Christians' debated whether he was God or not until emperor Constantine blended his Pegan beliefs and Christianity follows from that) and the concept of monotheism becomes trinity .
    3. Then another claimed prophet arrives (Mohammad) and reverts back to preaching monotheism in its pure form (One God who sent him as a prophet)
Points 1 and 3 certainly offer ease of understanding of monotheism
    Point 2 is an outlier
Side note: Do Christians believe Moses predicted the coming of Jesus ? (Deuteronomy 18:15, 18 NIV). Moses claiming another prophet like him will be sent to the children of Israel.
RESEACH ITEMS FROM SECULAR HISTORIANS REGARDING CHRISTIANITY- referenced
    1. 1st Century - Emperor Nero persecutes the Christians
    2. Mid 3rd century- Emperor Decius - continues as above, Christians threatened to face death unless the accept Pagan Roman Gods/ their ancestral religion
    3. Change in Christian practices - Christians accepting new doctrines e.g the Quartodeciman controversy (easter origin comes from a pagan fertility festival and is forced upon the Christians) - (Source Victor 1, Bishop of Rome AD 189-199)
    4. Christians adopting Pagan practices - (Source Tertullian of Carthage )
    5. At time of Emperor Constantine, Pagan practices in Christianity well established. Constantine raised Pagan himself and accepted the newly transformed Christian faith that blended his ancestral Pagan religion (Blended his ancestral belief of unconquered Sun and the Christian God and believed the 2 to be compatible- perhaps 2 views of the same Deity- ( Justo Gonzalez Historian)
    6. Constantine chairs council of Nicaea to decide what he believes Christianity should be- Presbyter Arius disputed issues centered on the natures and relationship of God (the Father) and the Son of God (Jesus) and doesn't believe Jesus is God.
    7. Constantine stamps all the approvals and unite under Christianity and sets the stage for all modern Christians practices emanating today. Burns all other versions of the christian scriptures which conflict with his beliefs
    8. Christianity didn't destroy paganism, it adopted it ( Historian Dr William Durant)
The origin of the Christian cross is also linked to emperor Constantine
Question for those searching the TRUTH: Is Christianity today based purely on what Jesus preached originally or what Emperor Constantine felt it should be based on his ancestral beliefs?

I genuinely feel sorry for David Pawson I listened to him for years. He has a blind spot and one day he will meet his maker and find out he was wrong in this area. But I also judge myself because I don't have everything right.
