Loving the quick pivot to reels 😭 the way I keep trying to open TikTok…it’s not right. But I’m usually the second to darkest shade and the Dior contour stick works for me!
I will never forget when I learned that Missy Elliott used black shadow for contour. As a white woman, it blew my mind. It was just something I never would have thought about. Crazy that brands still can't make these shade ranges inclusive for everyone, ESPECIALLY with all the people bringing more and more attention to it.
This is sooo true like they just think that we don't need it because we already have beautiful skin but what if I want to use contour or brozer why are we gatekeeping contour and brozer from us black women weird 😂😢.
I used to work at Sephora and Sephora literally tells brands what shades and color cosmetics they should sell…it’s giving they just don’t want to make our shades
Not surprised since this stick is one of the very few cremes light and grey enough to actually be a contour on my pale face. And so far it seems nearly impossible to get both very light and very dark shades right, if any of them at all.
It's sad that this is still such a big problem. When I was first getting into makeup I struggled finding a shade that matched me. Especially at the drugstore where I started out. Typically the lightest shade in any foundation would be too dark for me, or turn me orange. In the years since they've improved dramatically when it comes to pale shades but they haven't done the same for the wide variety of deeper skin tones. I really hope that changes sooner rather than later as everyone deserves to feel included.
Just to say how most foubdation brands aren't invlusive, especially in drugstores. You will find 5 shades of beige. Not even something that will match anyone alive. And I get told by older women that they don't usually make foundations for my tone... I'm a light to light-medium shade ! Imagine! 😂🥴
It definitely can be much darker but also the lightest and darkest of people will always have these issues. There are amazing places I’d recommend: juvias place, Mac, kryolan. Take your pick.
While I'm not the darkest of dark I'm not light-skinned (about a Fenty 410) and have that contour and it's pretty dark on me and cool toned which is rare from a deep contour. It's progress, that definitely needs to expand, but progress regardless. Disclaimer: This isn't me trying to disregard her experience just adding mine for someone a little lighter wondering how deep the shade is. Clearly not deep enough for her but not completely excluding all dark skin women.

Them calling that a contour when it can’t even be the darkest shade of a foundation is just laughable. Get in the lab Sephora!😂
You have a point… I think their shades are also pretty confusing in general.
The “a contour…..” was giving “a drag queen?!…” 😭✋
It's so ashy! 😫

Medium/deep is my shade in their powder contours… they’re not even trying.

Im surprised at Miss Sephora. She knows better. Been in the game for way too long.

this is the darkest shade i’ve seen in this series i think, and that’s just not okay. sure, it’s better than beige, but it’s still not a contour 😭
Looks a lil bright 😮😮😮
Sephora, Get in that lab! 🤎
You can tell this was negligent because they could sell that as a highlighter for really dark skin and it would work perfectly.
We are listening AND WE ARE JUDGING!
I hope you didn't have to spend money on that omg
Absolutely not
Yikes
Whew the ash of this contour is real
Even Sephora, so what do you expect?
