I Have been into Drag Racing for 35 years and did not know Jamaica had a Drag Racing scene until recently so me hafi come out deh fi go look pon it.
I love muscle cars and good to see the Vette and the 69 Camaro out there. I will be looking into more Drag History in Jamaica.

What's up with the blue 240sx with the 2J in the 10 sec class? That's literally a 7 sec car, probably THE fastest car on the property.....At least 9 sec class

I have not been drag racing in a very long time. When I was 21 in 1991 I purchased an 85 Mustang GT. It was built late in the year of 84 so it received the block, lowers, heads, roller cam, roller rockers of the 86 model year cars but was still carbureted like the 85 and prior. 1986 was the first year for EFI on the 5.0. Stock should have been a 650cfm Holley but somehow mine had an Edelbrock Performer Air gap intake manifold and an Edelbrock 750cfm carb factory. The cam profile seemed different than most and was found to be an Edelbrock Performer Plus ➕️ 😳 Cam with Performer timing gears ⚙️ instead of a timing chain. We discovered the heads were not OEM Iron heads they were Edelbrock Alloy that were ported and even internally channel smoothed & polished. The clutch was a two puck 6 tab carbon race clutch. I removed the stock exhaust and mounted 2 1/2" stainless with x pipe, Thrusher mufflers, tips that end in an oval like the oval in the Ford emblem exiting side just in front of the rear tire. It had MSD Ignition parts all over. The rear axle was a 9" geared for peak performance around 2k to 3,500rpm in 1st,2nd, & 3rd gear on the 1/2 mile. I found information about the original owner in the car to ask about all the mods and he told me it came from Ford that way. It was some sort of show sample car he git cheep because it had 5,000 miles when he got it. I contacted Ford and using the serial number we found it was a test car for the SVO group inside Ford for six months to test ideals and performance for the 86 block and internals. That's why all the mods! I got lucky with a factory low 10 second car, 9.3with Micky Thompson Street Dominator Slicks205/35/16 front 255/40/16 rear, OEM restrictions removed, =L Headers, 2 1/2" x short exhaust, 2" spacer under the carb with ice H2O passing through tubes in the intake opening for a custom intercooler set up on a non turbo car, a bit of tuning, 100 octain and the cool 😎 North Carolina after sun down late Aug 🌙 summer air. It was an amazing thing. Non of mybother cars to this point of my life could match the Mustang. Not my 2008 4.3L DOHC Turbo NOS Auto Volvo V40 T5 R, 1972 400ci Auto SB Impala, 1986 350ci 4spd Z28, 1985 Swaped from V70 4.3L DOHC Turbo 15lbsBoost NOS 4spd Volvo 240 Station wagon, 1987 Swapped from Grand Prix L67 Supercharged 3800 Series II V6 5spd Pontiac Fiero GT None of those could even brake faster than 10.5!

@@ironshoreleatherbelt aahhh...I may not have made it clear enough somehow. But I got lucky in that the car was built with all those parts by Ford. The SVO group was a speed and performance group inside that developed the modern Cobra, Shelby, Mach I, the Coyote motor, SVO Taurus, 84/85 SVO Turbo Mustang, 84 to 88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 89 to 2010 Thunderbird Super Charged and the Lightning Pickup.
I got Super Super lucky to get my hands on a Mustang that Ford had built as a test bed for products they were considering using. When done they sold it to a Ford lot as a floor show model race car only but they really shady sold it to an employee. He traded it in 10 years later and I got it from a buy here pay used car lot. All the other cars listed were projects I built but never did as well as the Mustang GT. The only things I did to it were 2 1/2 inch stainless exhaust, 30mm sway bars F & R, front 6point strut tower/firewall brace, 4 point rear strut tower brace, 12 point unibody underpin/reinforcement kit welded in, full quick release alloy underbelly pan bumper to bumper and door to door for aero, Bilstein 2" Drop Springs, 4 way electronically adjustable shocks with dash mounted control, cange 12" brake rotors front and drum rear to 15 inch slotted and drilled14" rotors, Brimbo 4 piston front & 2 piston rear, heliminate factory 15" wheels and get 16" Enkies with gold Honey Comb center and high polish silver lips, drop OEM air cleaner for HFlow Cone/alloy 3" pipe in passenger bright light slot Carbon hood with 5" cowl intake, 93 Saleen SSC F & R Bumpers, Side skirts, F Splitter, side kanards, waletail spoiler, tail lights and sunroof deflector, install angle up or pop out sunroof, main digital dash projected onto windshield of160mph speed/adj Redline Tach/Volt/ Oil Pres/ H2O Temp, separate digital Trans temp, oil temp, Intake manifold air presss and temp, intake filter air temp, exhaust temp, NOS Pressure, Trip/Timer/fuel econ., Sparco 4way adj/+ knee/thigh/low back inflat bladder +Calf sup, 6 pt harness, 8pt weld in roll cave padded, car body=Canyon Red paint, Lower bump, door, skirts paint black Saleen strips, giant 85' Flat black GT Hood strip/decal, on 1/4 side glass=silver window tent mustang horses 🐎 and Mustang GT logo, backed with black limo tent +hatch, doors and top 1/4 front glass, 10" white block lettering hatch glass = OTTROD (my last name OTT 😉) Front glass top =!!!REVO EVOM/ Move Over!!! in lead car mirror, license plate ="0r-gt-rn0vr"/ or get run over
