Thanks for the upload great race. At first I thought they were racing at Long Beach. There was a overhead that look like the same statue roundabout like Long Beach.
@IMSAOfficial: Suggestion. A couple weeks after each race can you post a full reply with no commentary. Just engine noises only. We all love the IMSA Radio crew, but to make the races re-watchable for the 3rd, 4th, 5th time, etc. Posting the races with engines only would rock. If that happened. I'd just run replays of races in the background all day long with looping turned on!
Probably one of the best coverage's I've seen in a long while - And I'm only 30min in 😁 - All due to being near incapable of hearing the broadcasters due to the sheer amount of track audio! 👍 I really wish that broadcasters made several audio streams possible with different sound levels e.g: Audio 1: Normal coverage. Audio 2: 50-75% broadcaster and more/higher track audio. Audio 3: Track sounds only. I get so pissed off everytime I watch F1 and the commentators go: "Oh we'll shut up for a second as we turn up the track audio for a brief moment so you can FINALLY enjoy the sound of racing instead of shitty gibbering" (F1 commentators in Denmark are dreadful).. Damn carrot on a stick I tell ya'!
LMAO it's the same in France. When I watched F1 in France, Jacques Villeneuve was commenting (I don't know if he still does). They are disgraceful to listen to, I prefer listening to Crofty and Martin "I love Hamilton" Brundle. I wish they would get James Allen back with the two.
On the other hand, there are people like me who have hearing problems or are new fans who depend more on the commentary to understand the race. My hearing problems are slight, but I really do depend on the commentary. I've been a fan for about a year now, and I'm still learning from every race. So I like to hear the engines, but I need the commentary.
1:03:55 Idk who that IMSA camera man is but give him a raise first. Then second that is the most beautiful sight I have seen in 2019 the bravery of those drivers is nothing to laugh at, I can for sure tell you I would have died at that speed if I tried that.
I saw that nudge on Legge live and was ticked about. I see it here and I'm still no happy with it. Since when is it okay to just straight up hit another car on the track so they don't pass you?
I'm not happy with it either, and I think Auberelin would have received a penalty had he actually finished. (They never said what happened to him.) But I don't think it's quite that simple. The difference between nosing in and closing the door is like nanoseconds. Kat was going considerably slower than Auberlin, so I think he thought he had time for the pass, or maybe he misjudged his braking, but he misjudged something. He might have had understeer from braking too late and sailed right into her. Incident responsibility, of course, but this wasn't just ramming through and shunting someone off the track to gain position. We also have to consider the unlikely and distasteful possibility that Kat closed the door on him to try to keep him back (reactive blocking). I seriously doubt that happened. She's not that kind of driver. She's aggressive but smart. (Watching her and Bryan Sellers fighting it out last year was awesome!) But the only video we saw of this incident with the 96 was not adequate to discount that possibility.
The Mazda DPI has had the worst problems with there engine's, and turbos. AMG has been bogged down on all fronts of GT3 including on IRacing, that also goes for Ford with the Ford GT.
During the clean up at the 51 min mark...what did the guy by the wall put into his pocket? A souvenir....or evidence....lol Good race. I hope y'all have a great day & be safe.
I'll say it again: Crash-damaged cars should be able to ignore pit closure, as any service required to make the car safe to run should count as emergency service. I can't imagine how tired Legge is of trying to run a clean race but getting forcibly clattered off the racing line and losing positions. Simpson is usually great but that move on Tincknell with 30min to go was just awful, and I can't believe it wasn't penalized. He clearly turned left into the Mazda; you could see the gap between his car and the curb grow from every camera angle. I caught this race live on TV in the US, and it was OK while it was actually showing the race, but my goodness, the official IMSA coverage is so much more enjoyable. The TV broadcast even missed one of the restarts because they were too busy with commercials. Ugh. There is no substitute for the IMSA Radio crew and the uninterrupted feed.
Dang when was this race? I didnt hear anything about it i wouldve loved to go see this.. I went to the indy races for the first time..it was pretty awesome. I sat right by the start/finish line
Does it make sense to drive with racing cars on a City track?? lso seen in IndyCar. But Always apprx 40%of time is FCY. Rather run on a regular race track!
The amount of people here in the comments asking where the GTLM cars are is appalling. Also, they’ll be called GTE in Le Mans, try not to get too confused
Well, they are GTE car's, that's why I am mad at the IRacing 24 Hours of Le Man's, as I saw on John Ulmurs stream they didn't have GT3, and I was absolutely confused, because they have the Ferrari GT3, Porsche GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3, and Audi GT3, so why didn't they have GT3, but yet they had GTE?
Thanks for upload!!! I feel like I've been waiting on this forever. Any way to get it quicker 🙏? I'm getting behind on my #sportscar365 #doublestint podcast and #midweekmotorsport podcast...1st world problem I know
I believe they dont upload the race right away so people will be more enticed to pay to watch instead of getting it free right away. At least that's what other sports do
@@magnummax78 nah, and I dont imagine they will for next season either. Won't be homologated in time. Although Lexus managed to get the RCF GT3 in to circulation before it was homologated, just depends on how it all goes. I'm curious to see how the mid engined Corvette will perform.

No
I think because of all the advertising and product placement contained in the commentary it'd be difficult/unfavorable to do that
Make it easier for others to add their own commentary..? Good idea chap! Jolly good idea!!
Best air footage of any race all year. Really swell work.
i noticed that too. the long shots from the copter while cars are passing each other!
the sweetest sound is the Porsche....love it!!!
Holy shit, first time watching an IMSA race straight through after getting frustrated with F1. These races are addicting! So much to take in
