thanks for sharing the key bits of info Steve like booking reference/passport needed, I get a lot of anxiety about documentation and traveling so its nice to see it in action.
Made that Ferry crossing many times in another life. It used to be crammed full of squaddies travelling to and returning from Germany when there was a BAOR presence in Germany. Nice video 👍

Hi Donnie thanks for commenting, yes very true I do like my camping but on a trip like this those camping cabins were brilliant. Each day packing down a tent would have been a chore. Hotel in Germany was great highly recommended and very reasonable. Thanks for watching 😃👍
Hi Steve. Norwegian here. Drones. We have strict rules. UA-camrs seem to think that all countries have the same rules 😀. Need a certificate to operate it and notify the aviation office where you fly.

Really enjoyed the video, your relaxed slower pace and observations of what it's like in reality riding this route. Wise to take regular breaks and stay hydrated although drinking too much water has it's risks ......... Shame you didn't get any fish and chips right next to the sea. You couldn't make it up really. Your Beemer is a looker with the gold wheels. Not sure if you know but you can now take a ferry from Eemshaven in Holland up to Kristiansand in Norway. Saves riding up through Germany and Denmark. You don't get the chance to ride on the unrestricted German autobahns though if you were to take this option. Would you be able to do a costs break down of your trip as last concluding video? Would be really helpful. The hotel you stayed in and then the cabin in Hirtshals Camping both looked really nice. Looking forward to your next instalment.
@@stevebutler7156 Just checked the Holland-Norway ferry service again. It's now Germany-Holland as the ferry company Holland Norway Lines has now changed from port of Eemshaven in Holland to Emden in Germany. It's only just across the estuary but a bit further to ride. Rather more shocking the cost of tickets have rocketed. Also cabins are now mandatory as the crossing takes about 17-18 hours to reach Norway. I did a test booking and going in June/July with motorcycle will cost a shade under 700Euros! Extortionate. Better probably to still ride up to Hirtshalls in Denmark and catch a ferry from there to Norway as you did.

Hi Debbie I got the bags from Trespass, they are large fold into a pocket ones. If I thought it would be heavy rain then would have rapped into a bin bag as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Really enjoyed this one Steve. I'd have done the same with the ferry, as long as the sea is calm, it's one of the highlights of a tour for me, it's part of the holiday, not just 'getting there'. Completely agree on the 'daily mileages' especially on a long trip. I hate to give 'tips' as you are much more experienced at this than me, but if you are 'feeling it' on your shoulders, I'd strap that rucksack on the rear seat, especially if you are on the Autobahn/ fast A roads...you can put it back on your back when you are more on and off the bike. And a sheepskin will completely change how that seat feels, especially when it gets hot. Try it, they're about £20 I wouldn't ride without one now. Not sure what you were thinking setting off with what you know is a dodgy battery, you of all people should know better 🙂 Yes I was around back in the Triumph dealership days. 👍 Looking forwaard to the next one....👍
Hi Paul thanks for commenting, yes the boat journey was great. Really loved it. Might look into the sheepskin. I’d had the bike checked and serviced and asked them to look at battery. @@stevebutler7156 Yes, I know about 'more expense' having just replaced my central heating boiler, and my garage roof, I popped a fork seal in Wales last weekend, and she needs new a new chain and spockets and speedo cable.....🙁 I'd have been looking for the nearest BMW dealer for a new battery if it had struggled to start abroad....whatever the price.
