Having been to Banff Springs Hotel, let me clear up the whole thing about the "hidden room" -- it wasn't hidden. Originally, it was a normal room: room 873. According to the staff of the hotel, the room was torn down and sealed in order to make space for a larger suite. However, there IS a story associated with the room. The story goes that a family of three stayed there. A father, a mother, and a little girl. One night, the father went crazy and killed his wife and daughter. It's presumed that he also killed himself. After that, people who stayed in room 873 reported hearing disembodied screams in the middle of the night and seeing bloody handprints all over the walls which would reappear even after being scrubbed off by housekeeping.
I agree. The Californian Hotel in downtown Fresno has a lot of energy. Several presidents and movie stars have stayed there. It's now a residence for elderly and disabled. My sister Brenda worked there and saw and felt things there.
