- The Temple is a weird tower. How do you know how good it actually is? How do you build a max temple? BTD Science does some extreme testing so you don't have to!

There is an additional factor in the temple's beam. Depending on the cost of the total sacrifice, the damage of the original beam is increased.

from my perspective of this video, it seems as if maybe the 30,000 worth of stuff actually is making a difference, it seems to be popping the ZOMG layer a lot faster, and i think this map did not display the temple full power very well.

The tunnel *was* interfering with some parts of the test (until all sacrifices combined), but it still seems like $30,000 sacrifices are really only worth it if you don't "just" need regular max temples, but you need to get *the most you can* out of them and the available space on the map!
Also, this is good to know for Monkey City, since the _number of towers you can use_ is limited; thus, both the amount of money you can acquire and the number of towers for temple sacrifices are limited alongside this. The only sacrifices that seem like they're worth getting the full 30k for are bombs and possibly blades, while the rest can be let go with 10k, as long as you can even use all 5 types!

@@nickclark18 $30,000 in-game cash spent on each sacrifice type; the next-best tier is $10,000. The blades (misc) and missiles (bomb/mortar) seem to be the best for direct damage, while the supportive effects of the others are minimal when the temple is already annihilating most normal Bloons.
I do believe sacrifices also boost the main attack, but I think I read that there's an upper limit on how much it can be boosted; not quite sure about that last part, though...
Not the smartest thing doing these tests on map with a tunnel in it...
Notice where most off the X's pile up. These are not all exactly accurate, because off the tunnel.
There are other very very long maps that are better, though. That tunnel is really messing with the data.
even though the temple wouldn't be in the middle, Patch would be WAY better (for testing purposes), it's super easy to mark, has no tunnel, and temple covers practically the entire map

Except when all the towers were put together, 30K and 10K both popped all the bloons at basically the same spot well before the tunnel.

Couldn't you just look at the code of the game to see if it made a difference? Also, using a map with a tunnel kinda messed a little bit of it up. A track like brick wall would work better in my opinion.

My theory is that if you put down a tower at all that gives an ability it has a base damage. With upgrades you can greatly increase the base damage, but it caps off or the increase greatly slows after 10k. Because the base damages are relatively high, the temple with all the 0-0 towers did very well. After 10k of each tower (or 5k, somehwere around there) was given, the base damages were increased greatly so the temple did more damage.
All the tower have similar base damage (except for the blades), and all of them scaled similarly (except for the blades). The base damage of those 5 is greater than the 30k damage of any of the towers, because the scaling is less than the base damage.
The sunbeams and the ablities get stronger, but some towers increase it by more (the ones that give blades).
However, this is all speculation, but I think I have some idea of how it works.
It's cost... Don't say "how do you know" because you can just look at the code...

Chris I have another BTD science question, this time with the monkey sub. We know that a 2-4 sub can pop lead bloons and if there are some camo towers (ex: ninjas) it can also pop camo lead. But I've noticed that if there are some not camo bloons in the map it cannot pop camo leads anymore. Why it happens?

when you Play btd for 4+ years and you dont know that village Upgrades Affekt Templer too when sacreficed, Not even to mention that mortar and Bomb have some slight differences

This is inaccurate. The tunnel gives bloons invincibility, so the bloons are dying way later than normal.
But at the end when the bloons didn't get to the tunnel 10k of each tower and 30k of each tower were exactly the same.
Bro, the 30,000 is to make the tornado/glue/cannon have a bigger radius and slightly better power overall. Also, i think some of the upgrades weren't over 30,000, like ice. Also, what about flash version?

ninja kiwi actually stated that $30,000 worth of towers does make a difference as shown when making the max temple you need $30,000 of the wizard ,ice ,super monkey ,bomb tower ,glue gunner and another random tower and any amount below that actually makes the temple not as strong. I am a fan but just wanted to point that out.
Can you do tests based on space efficiency rather than cost efficiency? Late game money is less of a problem than lack of space. Try something like max temple vs RoD, or maybe RoD vs Spectre.
SJB Chris I'd also say that the max temple will most likely do better against grouped ZOMG's than the $10000 sacrificed temple

Perhaps try with a village. I heard it gives it's buffs to the temple if it's sacrificed.
Chris test if sacrificing cannon is different from sacrificing mortar because it supposedly isn't but idk
Random Fan it isn't any different, just less space used since you can spend more on each mortar
Danny Newhouse you spend less on mortar since they take so much space that you can probably fit 2 cannons at the spot of the mortar.

Fun Fact:
If you fill up this map with as many max power level Sun God Temples as can fit on it without consuming each other and then augment those temples with 2/4 monkey villages, in sandbox mode, you physically, literally cannot spawn in ZOMGs fast enough to overwhelm yourself. Seriously, it is physically impossible to left click on the ZOMG button fast enough to spawn in enough ZOMGs (even if you bind the left mouse click to the scroll button. In fact I think even if you could, the game literally cannot spawn them in faster than the Temples destroy them. You are literally invincible, they can’t even make it round the first bend,
and with a remix!
You know, this is absolutely huge for card battles. If you only need 200 dollars of each type for an effective temple, it *might* be worth it to slot that card into your deck.

Erm the ten thousand max temple did better that the thirty thousand max temple by a tiny bit
shouldve done all of them in the sacrifies to see what is really needed and what isnt, i feel like itll make for such a long vid to find out but it would be nice.

There is a difference. However, the difference from the extra 20k is a bit small for the price increase.
Would've appreciated smaller, more distinct, marked lines. The level of accuracy and differentiation would be much appreciated when many results are so close to each other.

You should have done a test of max temple without glue and or ice because late game when the game has to handle all that it lags alot

It´s not that accurate though. You forgot to deactivate the monkey lab upgrades so More Popping Power, faster Attack Speed and the MOAB-classes have less health than normal.

So to make a max temple I only need 10k of each?
Max temple is still 30k of each, but it doesn't make THAT big of a difference so you can save a lot for just doing 10k each
