I am a yeast person. Due to arthritis, using a bread machine is my go to method of bread making. Use the "knead" cycle, remove from pan, shape and place in loaf pan to rise (or make rolls). Bake in the oven. Perfect every time. Thanks for the inspiration!
❤Hi Kimmy, thank you so much for the great encouragement. I run from yeast bread but my daughter bakes the most delicious bread. She has a light hand, my dad used to call it. I have a heavy hand and tend to over-knead. It took years for me to learn to make tortillas that were soft and yummy. I believe bread making is an art and a God given gift. I will try because I owe it to myself since you took the time to teach and encourage me. I'll pray first lol. Love and blessings❤ from Candy in North Augusta, SC
I used to do dough in my bread maker and chili in the crockpot for days when we would snowmobile all day. Nice to come home and turn the dough into bread bowls that would bake while we showered. Great hearty meal after a day of playing.
Working with yeast has never been my friend, but its been years. After watching this, I am so willing to give it a go again, Thank you so much for the inspiration ❤️
😳 Kimmy, you made that look so easy… my bread experience is 50/50, I’m not sure where I go wrong 🧐, I should film myself so I can catch my mistakes I guess ☺️ Great video, keep’em coming 🤗💜
Sourdough has changed my bread game. Since we started making it our stomachs are less bloated and we don’t crave sugars as much and it is so much more satisfying to us.
Hi from CT...I just recently managed to get a sourdough starter going and I have to say that you are absolutely right in what you say about the bloating...I noticed the difference after eating my first slice, then my second and my 3rd, etc...all in one sitting...I just couldn't help myself 🤣😋
I have been making homemade bread, buns, bagels, tortillas, and English Muffins for several years now its so much better than store bought bread products. Also I have been making my own salad dressing it is so much more better for you and cleaner.
I’m a yeast girl too! I make 2 loaves of bread sometimes every week and sometimes every other week. It just depends on how much I have left. I’ve made sour dough before, but the only thing I really liked were the English muffins. I just haven’t attempted to make them the yeast way yet, but I will.
In general, I don’t make sandwich bread. It’s just not my favorite. But I just made English muffins yesterday, and bagels last week. I am definitely going to try the Depression Era bread though… love that crunchy exterior! Thanks for everything you do! ❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE making bread. So simple and easy, and OMGosh, it is so tasty and easy better than the store bought with all those preservatives. I bake 3 loaves at a time and freeze. I'm single, so I take out what I want and keep the rest of the loaf frozen until I want it again. The pullman pans are awesome for sandwich bread. The regular bread pan works awesome too. I use parchment paper in my pans rather than oil or butter. Just lift right out after baking. I've also made bread bags to store or give. ❤
I loved your video. I saved it for trying every single one of these amazing breads. I love bread, and this recipes are so more descomplicated than the ones that I already try before. Thanks for sharing ❤😊
I have a severe gluten intolerance so I’ve had to make my own bread for awhile now. I started out with the typical gf flour and the bread was not good (dry and crumbly). I discovered grains that I could tolerate which are Einkorn, Kamut and Spelt, my bread is soo much better! I really enjoy sourdough too 😊
Those bread pans are worth the investment. I have the regular bread pans and they are of great quality. They are also have high ratings per America test kitchen. Also sour dough isn’t as difficult as you think. It just takes a little more time. Also flavor is not strong at all. Once you get your sourdough culture started, it’s pretty easy to 😊
I love any kind of homemade bread! I started playing with sourdough 3 years ago and that’s pretty much all I make. But homemade bread is soooooo good ❤
I get my yeast from Sam's and it's so much cheaper than those little packages. I figured it out and you get the equivalence of 42/3 packs. So $6.18 at Sam's and $47/Aldi. I just keep it in my freezer door. And the best by date is just a suggestion. Mine is way past it and it rises like it's new.
I am a sourdough person but only for the last month! I have always wanted to grow my own starter and after several weeks I was successful! It is so delicious and not as hard as I thought it would be. Once you have a successful starter, you can store it in the frigde for a few weeks until you are ready to use it again so it really isn't that labor intensive. Plus, sourdough is much healthier for you than yeast bread because it is so good for the gut!
I have celiac disease so I can't have wheat. Sourdough bread doesn't hurt my stomach. I just learned how to make it a month ago and I love making it. Have a blessed night Kimmy and Fam🩷
My husband complained that when he opened the bread bag of store bought bread, it " stunk". Enter homemade bread! I use my Kitchenaid mixer to mix and knead my dough. I also use my Instant pot for the first rise. Thirty minutes on the yogurt setting. I add a teaspoon of olive oil to the IP pan and swirl it around so the dough doesn't get dry. This works great! The second rise is in the bread pan that I cover with a clean tea towel. I make my own hamburger buns and rolls as well. It's so simple! I use organic flour from Costco or from a local mill. No more stinky bread and no weird chemicals or preservatives.
I started out making the no-knead bread that rises over 12-18 hours but then switched to sourdough. I started almost a year ago with King Arthur sourdough starter and have had no problems keeping it alive in the fridge with weekly or every other week feedings. Since I am a solo person (with little freezer space) making one loaf a week is more than enough.
Great video! I make bread, with a bread machine. I have made it in the oven, I have a Pullman pan. I need to do it again and tomorrow I just might try it again. I will pick one of your recipes. Thank you so much for the encouragement.
For the commenter who mentioned their yeast bread was hard - if your yeast is fresh but you still have this problem it might be the flour and not the yeast. You could have too much flour - usually recipes will have a range - use the smallest amount, otherwise subtract a cup and try that. Another possible cause is over mixing - you want to stop mixing the moment the bread starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. If those suggestions don't solve the problem, try using a flour with a higher protein count, this is most likely if you are using an all purpose flour.
Hi Kimmy, Ironically I have been in the mood for yeasted bread for a few days. I have happy healthy sourdough starter in the fridge. You and Becky both put out bread videos on the same day. 😃 I’m going to try your English muffins bread recipe. Only bread I buy it at the store for 10 million dollars, okay.. I exaggerated a little. Thanks for making it look easy. Happy New house 🏠
This week, I started milling my own flour and attempting making bread...lol...The first loaf didn't turn out right. My second attempt was much better. It has a great taste, but I never could get the window pane look, or the stretchy feel. I may have over kneaded the bread. I will make my 3rd attempt either tonight or tomorrow night.
I make yeast bread and sourdough bread. The sourdough sandwich bread I make tastes so mild and good. And the process is basically the same as yeast bread, I sometimes use some of it to make some cinnamon rolls too. It’s way easier to digest then yeast bread. It does take longer to rise but I just plan accordingly.
Kimmie is the reason why I own a Bosch and those Pullman loaf pans 😂 they seriously are the best though. And even if you don't shape the loaf, it still comes out fine. We make bread all the time thanks to Kimmie's inspiration years ago!!
I keep my yeast in the refrigerator and never have a problem with it turning hard. I have recently bought in bulk and refill my jar and freeze the rest. My problem is keeping in the house. lol I’m baking with it so much. It’s only me and one son who lives with me but my friends so far are glad I’m back to baking lol
My mom made 8 loaves of bread 2-4 times a week by hand. There were lots of us 5 of her own and sometimes that many foster children. We all needed lunches for school. Needless she became an excellent bread maker.
I grew up with a baking mom. She would save potato water (we always knew she was going to make bread the next day). We would fight over who got the 1st heel.
I’ve had a bread machine for several years and I still haven’t used it🤣. We’re packing up a four bedroom three full bathrooms and moving into a fifth wheel to live in while we take care of my elderly in-laws. I think my bread machine will go with me because it’s a drive to the grocery stores. I’m going to miss my small Michigan town and will have to get used to hot Texas summers 😅
Welcome to Texas! One of our greatest perks is good BBQ, Blue Bell ice cream (factory in Brenham), and H‑E‑B grocery chain. Trust me, you will love it. Safe travels!
My mom was the cook in a gold mine camp and she spoiled her “boys” with fantastic food which included home made bread, buns and pastries, she got very sick and needed me to fly to the Yukon and take over for her while she recovered, you can imagine my shock when she insisted I make bread, well I never made bread in my life so I said no! Well she said”oh yes you are” well my first attempt produced 15 well formed bricks that you could have used for door stops! I was so mad and embarrassed and swore that was it but mom said get in the kitchen, relax and enjoy yourself so I tried again only this time they were edible but each time I got better and better and I was so proud of my bread making skills that I was making all my own hamburger/hotdog buns, French bread, dinner rolls and English muffins on the industrial grill then I ventured out into rye bread, the drilling crew complemented me on my bread all the time which made me so proud of myself and very thankful of my mom for not letting me give up! So if I could do it so can anyone else! Good luck to all you new bakers, you can do this!!!!! ♥️🙏🏻🇨🇦
I always slice mine and wrap in deli paper so they don't stick together...I only do this to my sourdough bread...I haven't tried freezing my yeast bread, but now I'm curious how it comes out after freezing it; looks like I'm going to have try now 😆😊
When you freeze your bread do you heat it up before you eat it or what do you do? I have only made like five loaves of bread this year and mine never come out looking like yours. 😢I need help. LOL!

Thank you. I have missed that information somewhere. Bloody sucks. Everything happens around xmas. Like it isn’t stressful enough, then having to find a house on top. Thank you again. Take care.
Bread making can feel intimidating at first, but I promise, the more you do it, the easier it gets!
I completely agree with it getting easier 😊
That machine has been out of stock for a while now. Do you have another machine that’s close to the one you make your bread in?
I am a yeast person. Due to arthritis, using a bread machine is my go to method of bread making. Use the "knead" cycle, remove from pan, shape and place in loaf pan to rise (or make rolls). Bake in the oven. Perfect every time. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yay! I got some Pullman pans a year ago and haven’t used them yet. 😁
The only breads I make are a crusty round bread in my Dutch oven and a dinner roll recipe using my bread machine to mix. 😆
what?! Heather!
@@shesinherapron I know, I know. I’ve also got Clara’s book. Hehe…I will make bread soon.

I'm so proud of myself that I too just got one going in the past month ... I found out that it's a prebiotic, and like you mention, good for the gut 😊
I’m a new subscriber and this video was just what I needed. Thank you so much for sharing.
This video is timely! I just ordered yeast and bread pans last night.
Perfect!
I love all the recipes you shared. Can you share how you freeze your bread?
Will do soon
I love yeast bread and sourdough. I have tried making yeast bread and not had a lot of luck. I have never made sourdough, but would love to try.
Hello Kimmy! I know you’ve been making bread for years and they always look delicious 😁👍🏻. Have a nice evening. 🍞🕊️
Yummy! You make it look so easy!

I agree...store bought bread stinks! 😮
I have also used the instant pot for the 1st rise. It works great.
It does. It smells like dirty feet.
Oh my goodness!...Thank you so much for the Instant Pot tip! 🥰
K, we live in Bear Lake. The house can be so cold a big portion of the year. Have to ride the bread near the wood stove.
Thank you for your recipes! They look so yummy. 😃 I can't wait to try these recipes.

Ok! I’m going to try the white sandwich bread! I’m excited and terrified!
Oh yeahhh. I don't buy bread anymore. I now mill my own berries and love it!
So excited to try the white bread recipe and the French bread. Thanks!

When you make a loaf of bread to freeze is it better to slice before freezing?
I always slice mine and wrap in deli paper so they don't stick together...I only do this to my sourdough bread...I haven't tried freezing my yeast bread, but now I'm curious how it comes out after freezing it; looks like I'm going to have try now 😆😊
I don’t have a Bosch mixer. I just have a 5qt stand mixer. Would this recipe work in that mixer or would it need to be a half recipe?
It should work. try it once and see. I don't do my 3 loaf batches in my Kitchenaid because i'm afraid it would burn it out.
When you freeze your bread do you heat it up before you eat it or what do you do? I have only made like five loaves of bread this year and mine never come out looking like yours. 😢I need help. LOL!
Seeing I am now the only bread eater in the house I tend to make a half batch of buttermilk biscuits instead.

Yes it’s used in yeast bread recipes. Look into it and do some research.
I’d like the recipe for that French bread. That recipe seems to be missing and that’s the one I’m interested in.
I’ll add that one soon. Thanks for noticing!
YUM!!
My biggest challenge when it comes to making bread is I always end up adding too much flour. I can’t seem to leave a sticky dough alone.
😂
I make both dough and my one sourdough is not a very soured flavour 😁😁💖💖must be from the way I started my yeast starter 😂😀😂
Your sourdough will get that soured flavor as it matures...give it a couple of months to get stronger...don't forget to feed it 😊
I've never made wheat bread. Does wheat bread have a lot of gluren. I don't have an oven that works right now.
Beautiful loaves Kimmie
Kimmie seriously makes everything look easy but cut to me in the kitchen fussing with the recipe, the yeast, myself and the oven😅
I'm both...yeast & sourdough...but with yeast I just find I get bloated and don't feel very well after, at my age 👵😊
Yeast
Yeast bread for me
Love All kinds of Bread 🍞 ❤,, but I’m a sourdough girl.😀
I love sourdough, BUT I cannot keep the starter alive. It ends up smelling like fingernail polish remover! Sooo, yeast is the way to go for me!! BTW, love your channel!
Yeah we don't want our bread to smell like that. I admire those that make sourdough. Thanks for watching Lavonna!
It looks yummy, but is n't it cheaper to buy the bread already made ? I buy a loaf for a $1.50, and 2.00.
Can you answer what would the price average is to be making the loaves? Would it cost more and worth it?
I don’t know about price. The main thing is you control what goes in to it.
I'm a yeast person. Just can't get that sourdough starter to work.
I have 2 bread machines. I only use the dough cycle as I only need one small loaf of bread. My recipe makes enough dough for a smallish loaf of bread and 6 hamburger rolls. I make fresh every 5 days or so. I use both machines if I am making bread for a family dinner.
I have arthritis and I can not work the dough by hand. The machines take care of that part for me
Do you make gluten free bread or have a recipe
definitely a yeast girl
Definitely a yeast girl
❤️😋❤️
Didn’t you just move last year? I’m sure i’m missing the video.
Wonder what was with the move again. I’m missing something. I know that’s not the kitchen, it was white bright. this one is darker.
First 🥇
I just can’t jump on the sourdough train yet. I know the benefits and I want to learn but I just don’t care for the taste of it. 🤷🏼♀️
I know you’ve said you are mostly GF. Do you have a gluten free bread that you’ve found you love?
not a homemade one yet. but once I do I will for sure share.
I’m a yeast person
I don't like the flavor or the texture of sourdough bread, I'm yeast all the way.
Didn’t you just move last year? I’m sure i’m missing the video.
Wonder what was with the move again. I’m missing something. I know that’s not the kitchen, it was white bright. this one is darker.
The person they were renting from didn’t renew their lease so they had abruptly move in January. They are trying to save for a home right now.
Thank you. I have missed that information somewhere.
Bloody sucks. Everything happens around xmas. Like it isn’t stressful enough, then having to find a house on top.
Thank you again.
Take care.
Did I miss a new house tour?
no, I won't be doing a tour but I do have a kitchen organization video coming out this month.
Are you still living in the basement?
No, haven’t for over a year
Aww that was my comment 😊 Thank you for the encouragement !! I think next shopping trip I will get all I need and at least give it a try .. 🤍
