Yes, Yugi popped off this turn a little, but was unable to stop the summoning of Truth Dragon, and if Jaden and Yusei hadn’t set the table for Yugi, this pop off wouldn’t have happened. They clearly took great care in letting each protagonist have a strong turn without taking away from the other’s, culminating into the final attack with all three ace monsters combining for one big blast. That is why I say they played equally
I wish they made a second one because of how good this was! Every moment had me and I couldn't pull away all three of them are so amazing I love Yu-Gi-Oh so freaking much aside from the last few shows it's all so freaking amazing and has been my childhood I'm so happy I grew up with this!! ❤❤❤❤

Not to mention this is probably one of the best instances where Yugi exploits the chain link timing to deceive his opponent. Most other times it comes off as very cheaty but it's still legit to a fault.
What would have made the move even better is if Paradox Dragon was in the center zone, and Yugi played the spell in the same column. Then Yugi could have had an excuse of the old Holo system defaulting card effects to the center column before moving them.

This is possibly the best Yu-Gi-Oh movie. I know Dark Side of Dimensions is pretty good in its own right, but DSOD doesn't have 3 different Yu-Gi-Oh protagonists from different points in time dueling together.

Paradox probably has zero idea that his Puzzle has LITERAL destiny bending abilities which is how it influences his card synergy despite normally being bricks in a typical hand Doesn’t make him auto win, but it gives mostly any hand combination he has to be useable like here.
I love how Yugi already has all the cards he needs for this attack combo in his hand. The original series really relied more on spell card effects than on special monster effects
@@killerdragonark1128 I always saw it as an even worse form of cheating than Pegasus mind reading because if you know your opponents cards/strat you still need to actually have drawn the right cards to counter with. With HOTC it doesn't matter what your opponent does because you always draw what you need to deal with it. It's also conveniently impossible to prove and therefore impossible to call out.
@@Kragith heart of cards is optimistic feeling for our own deck, because we are the one who build it. Millenium puzzle just give Yugi/Yami Yugi chance to get the card he need to complete their strategy, like the last pieces of the puzzle. So the card still in their deck. Not come no where.

So yeah if Yugi comunicated with his team, he could've activated defusion and un fuse Neo's and Junk gardna. Now that Neo's is on the field, Jaden could've activated Neo's spiral force and doubled Dark Magician attack points to 9,000 and win the duel. Literally OTK paradox And if Paradox wanted to cheat, Neos is still on the field ready to attack
TGS Anime reviewed this duel and due to the 3 Spiral Force cards, the protagonists could've won multiple times during the duel due to them being able to double their monster's attacks at any moment.

At any point, he could've defused Neos Knight and doubled Neos to 5000 ATK, defeat Paradox's Paradox Dragon, and then Yami could double Dark Magician's ATK to 5000 and use Dark Magic Twin Burst to increase DM to 7000 ATK. Paradox would lose several times over because Yugi, Jaden, and Yusei can double their monster's ATK at any given moment. Honestly Paradox's mistake was not having stolen stronger monsters with 5000 ATK. He should've corrupted Dragon Master Knight, Five-Headed Dragon, and possibly the Egyptian Gods.
Thought Atem cheated for a moment, but his opponent jumped the gun and attempted a negate before he could declare a target. I don't know if it's possible to honor that in a real game. It seems like two buds could go for it where a tournament wouldn't.
Paradox saw from the way the magic card was activating that Atem was targeting Paradox Dragon. Hence the counter. But Atem basically played a bluff because his real target had been Stardust Dragon. Atem knew that Paradox will be more inclined to protect Paradox Dragon than Stardust Dragon
Magic Gate of Miracles Normal Spell Card Text If you control 2 or more Spellcaster monsters: Change 1 Attack Position monster your opponent controls to Defense Position, then take control of it, and if you do, it cannot be destroyed by battle. It doesn't target so it would work exactly like it happened in the movie. If paradox wanted any of his monsters protected he had to activate his trap before knowing what card it would affect
At first I thought he was cheating by switching his target, but Magic Gate of Miracles doesn't say "target monster", so he doesn't have to target a monster at the time of activation.

Y'know, there's practically no chance the writers thought of this, but DM and DMG talking makes a rather strong amount of sense taking into account the _lore_ of the show. (Yes I'm gonna be *that* guy for a moment, let me cook.) We've seen DMG talk before. Both in the Orichalcos arc inside the Spirit Realm, and in GX on 'All Spirits Day' to... make out with a student, apparently. And before all that, we've seen them both talk in the Memory arc, with their past selves Mana and Mahad fusing with their own Ka. So between that history, and GX rather firmly implicating that Monster Spirits inhabit unique cards, why wouldn't they be able to talk with their friend and student Atem, through the cards belonging to him? So yes, yes, 'A wizard did it.' But also it's just kinda canon at this point Monster Spirits can talk?
I've been wanting to write a fanfic where Yugi, Jaden, Yusei and their friends get transported to a future where robots who mimic the appearance and decks of famous duelists rule the world and the supercomputer that controls them must be defeated in order for them to return home.

i mean its cool for nostalgia, but DSOD clears this and pyramid by its quality of characters, directing etc easily
DSOD technically has the better storyline, since it's a direct sequel to the DM manga. But this movie, albeit short, takes a fine 2nd place.

Thought Atem cheated for a moment, but his opponent jumped the gun and attempted a negate before he could declare a target. I don't know if it's possible to honor that in a real game. It seems like two buds could go for it where a tournament wouldn't.
Paradox saw from the way the magic card was activating that Atem was targeting Paradox Dragon. Hence the counter.
But Atem basically played a bluff because his real target had been Stardust Dragon.
Atem knew that Paradox will be more inclined to protect Paradox Dragon than Stardust Dragon

At first I thought he was cheating by switching his target, but Magic Gate of Miracles doesn't say "target monster", so he doesn't have to target a monster at the time of activation.

Y'know, there's practically no chance the writers thought of this, but DM and DMG talking makes a rather strong amount of sense taking into account the _lore_ of the show. (Yes I'm gonna be *that* guy for a moment, let me cook.)
We've seen DMG talk before. Both in the Orichalcos arc inside the Spirit Realm, and in GX on 'All Spirits Day' to... make out with a student, apparently. And before all that, we've seen them both talk in the Memory arc, with their past selves Mana and Mahad fusing with their own Ka. So between that history, and GX rather firmly implicating that Monster Spirits inhabit unique cards, why wouldn't they be able to talk with their friend and student Atem, through the cards belonging to him?
So yes, yes, 'A wizard did it.' But also it's just kinda canon at this point Monster Spirits can talk?
