It's a solid whisky but since it's been harder to get I definitely think a lot of reviewers have been over egging the pudding. The Japanese use a lot in their blended whiskies and all of a sudden Scotch reviewers say it's better than it is. It isn't bad but it certainly ain't worth chasing, cheers Erik.

If you only had tried that Single Malts of Scotland 9-year that you showed listed on Spec’s online.
No peat, but no offputting youthful notes, either, whether😢 juicy fruit, coconut-pineapple….
And it wasn’t just the strength (57.5% abv) that gave it flavor bold enough to match up against any Mortlach!
Perhaps you heard the story of the huge 1996 independent bottling releases, because bitter rival Suntory-Beam dumped their entire stock of Ben Nevis onto the brokerage market after Nikka acquired Ben Nevis. There is a UA-cam video with one of the buyers discussing this…
Recalling that legend, I picked up two bottles, at $69.95 each. My Spec’s store had one case of six bottles. My only regret: not picking up all of them before they quickly vanished!

Thanks for the review. I have seen and heard the name for years, but never tried. I have read that the independent bottlings are much better.
