- Ukraine has said seven people have been killed and six more injured in a drone attack on a Russian ship.
The Sergei Kotov - a patrol ship in the Black Sea - was said to have been hit in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and Ukrainian military intelligence said it suffered damage to the stern as well as its right and left sides.
And, while the Kremlin has yet to comment, some Russian bloggers have confirmed that the vessel has sunk.
The BBC has not been able to independently verify the extent of damage to the ship.

Ukraine is using technology and money that isn't even their own, they didnt invent these drones or any of their other useful technology they dont even have their own versions of those technologies, they borrowed from everyone else. Without money and weapons from the west ukraine would have fallen year 1.

Perun estimates each modified drones cost 250K when completed using off the shelf materials and expertise to make.

Ukraine are our friends, so I hope the UK royal navy are taking notes on how a nation without a navy, is taking out a navy with one of the biggest fleets of warships in the world. Yes, to project air power anywhere in the world, we need hugely expensive aircraft carriers, that are protected by a carrier group (anti submarine and anti air/missile defence). They should now be thinking of a new class of ship, Anti sea drone defence; that can not only defend against enemy sea drones, but deploy their own sea drones..

A "Sergey Kotov" warship Project 22160 is in realty a 1700 tons multi-role corvette with cruise/anti-aircraft missiles, a dual purpose AKM 176 cannon, multiple big caliber machine guns, automatic grenade launchers, a Ka 29 antisubmarine helicopter, and 4 "Orlan" drones, moreover its claimed by Russians to be stealthy and has a modular design to be mission adjustable... and another Russian warship is promoter to a submarine by Ukraine.
I can attest to its stealth capability because it just seemed to disappear.
The production is discontinued as the project is quite bad. Due to the low tonnage and the modular armament it have quite limited "normal" weapons. The "multiple machine guns" are 2 x 14.5mm. No AA except 8 MANPADs "Igla-2". One 76mm cannon that is useless against drones and that is all. Apart from this due to hull design flaws it is quite slow ship. Overall - a serious competitor to the british carriers, the Zumwalts and Litorrals for worst ship of the 21st century.

All of this could have been avoided. Boris Johnson insisted that Russian Black Sea fleet must be reduced to 10 inflatable banana boats, but Russia rejected this peace deal, and proceeded with the Special Underwater Operation. LOL
Russia did agree to it. 'No more than 10', they promised. And although all sides deny it, and it wasn't important enough to put down in writing, its still considered to be a formal acceptance of an international agreement.
