They had some amazing animators for 4. I don't think 4 is going anywhere not in my life time that game is going to be played and modified for years to come. I'd love to make a Super mod for Ultra. Remove Oni, Seth & E. Ryu. Replace them with Sodom, Birdie & Lucia. Perhaps some balance patches as well to attempt what the companies could never do, balance the game out rather than have periods of overpowered sets of characters.
SF 5 looked like crap even when it came out. The characters look like as if they were made out of plasticine, and the texture resolution is extremely low.
SFIV started that in between cell shaded and 3d look. SFV perfected it. SF6 went hyper real. The animations in 6 are unmatched, but IV and V have a place.

This is my opinion, as Jeff bridges in Big Lebowski said but I really don't think V had any cel shading considered to it at all, it was an attempt at realism targeting consumer hardware at the time, consoles. 6 would have been possible if they targeted PCs back then but not consoles. Still though I really do prefer Inked IV and most of the animations on IV over what has come after. All 3 of them are good games. Sakura is busted she is just not quite the same as she was in 4 with her karate suit which is my favorite character ever in any fighting game.
My only complaint with SF5 characters is the hair style. Kinda looks a bit like clay texture imo. The SF6 intro animations are dope but a bit too short.
SF6 fighters capture best the feel of the original SF2 ones imo so is my fav of these, though SF4 has similar design. I still prefer how SF2 moved though, more weight somehow
I love this comparison video. From Street Fighter 4, 5 and 6 it always gets better with each production. Both in terms of graphics, visual effects and fighter characters. And I also like watching the Street Fighter Tournament until the final.
Honestly I like the SFV models better, they're quite aesthetic during their stances and gameplay, it all falls apart when they're put in a cut scene, like everybody looks so awful doing anything else besides figting, their muscles are too swole and tense for a normal conversation and it looks weird. On the other hand SF6 models are a bit toned down and kinda look normal, like real martial artist you could come across the streets and still feel like you are looking at a person and not a solid block of muscles that feeds on steroids for a living, but at the same time some of the sf6 characters like Ryu and Ken don't look that aesthetic to me during a fight or during their stances, other's look beautiful in and out of matches like Manon, Marisa, Sim, DJ, JP and chun who i'm warming up to quite a bit but sf6's machanics and gameplay are goated
Can't say I agree, after playing SF6 for weeks I like it better both in still and motion. Every move they do is satisfying to watch. To me SF5 models just look stiff and blocky even in motion. And while the limbs aren't as comically big as before they're still big and the character are still huge, like on steroids huge. Not saying SF6's aesthetic and animations are flawless though, there's definitely room for improvements
Sf6 is the best in my opinion. They only thing i wish they took and put in the game would be the sound and visuals of the dark moves from sf4. Every time i hear that sonic boom sound with the dust spreading out from all angles gives me a rush.
5 was supposed to have a look that was even more realistic looking than 6. Im fact if you can find the prototype pictures of SF5 you will see that the UI from 6 takes some cues from that scrapped version of 5. Bison looked so different and unrecognizable in that version if he comes back I wonder how he will look in 6. I love them all, but damn 6 looks so clean.
I still love sf4 way more than 5and6 because 4 had the best characters the best soundtracks in my opinion i liked that there whas powerful demon like characters such as oni and evil ryu they could have done so much better with the upcoming games….
Street fighter V hits it perfect for me Ryu and Ken look homeless in 6 while in 4 and 5 they look more youthful and in 6 the gameplay is good but it’s plays a bit too goofy
SFV ken hair looks ridiculous hate that look. SF4 was good SF6 Ken is masterpiece. This is coming from someone who have played all SF dating back to SF1 so you can imagine. I just hate the hair style they choose for Ken in SF5
