- The girls go on their date with Pretty the chef. I had to edit a lot to even get it to his length, so hope you all enjoy. Shout out to my friend's Pathfinder characters as the customers.

Not only that, Pretty gives the girls the umbrella, like a gentleman, before walking off into the rain like the one that got away. I got fairy tale prince vibes from this lovely chap.

you know i normally hate harem protagonist stories but i think he deserves it.
The difference between Pretty and other harem protags is that he actually made a decision and didn't drag it out for 4 seasons.
@@xandan1668 Definitely advice for anyone who finds themselves talking with multiple women. don't drag out decisions, especially when you can tell they feel a certain way but you haven't come to a conclusion, usually you will know if a genuine connection is there. One big hint is the difference between feeling like it is just small talk and genuinely caring about their day.

@@yuvalgabay1023 the only way that improves is by actually talking to girls and learning key lessons along the way. To put it in gaming terms, you have to grind your social stat to gain experience and improve that skill, four core Starter lessons to help that process:
- Respect (respect people's time, space, person, feelings and privacy),
- Honesty (people can spot when someone is being fake, it isn't attractive.),
- Being observant (this will help develop recognition of social cues, and is also appreciated at moderate levels),
- and Hygiene (take care of yourself, seriously)
- (there are definitely other lessons to learn along the way)
*Laudna and Imogen:* Mainly fine with it.
*Fearne:* Lost the only true love of her life besides theft
I shudder to think what would have happened if they didn't go on this date. Matt having them meet Pretty in the market or something. "You didn't come. You said you wanted a date. I made gifts for you all. I told people you would come. They bet me you wouldn't. I had to pay them." *sniffle*

I find it interesting that Pretty starts out acting simple minded but dips into Eshteross mentality.

They should periodically send him messages about their adventures and occasionally have brunch or tea to catch up every now and again. He said he was vested in their happiness and I hope they know how special a thing they just were offered. Grill cooks do not give favor lightly.
In fact not to generalize, but from 4:30 to around 8 during the busy season, most Cooks will talk to their friends. And coworkers in a manner similar to one cursing their most vile and hated enemy

Matt knows the truth. Sometimes the NPC with the highest CHR and WIS stats in the campaign isn't the level 20 sexy bard or enchanting sorcerer. It's the Huge Sweaty Guy happily working 12hr hr grill shifts at your local pub.
Never thought I'd see three beautiful adventurers get friendzoned by an ogre...

He is more sophisticated than that. Of course it is a thriller called "master chef murder" where a renowned chef is murdered and a blue Tiefling and halfling have to solve the mystery. You also learn a recipe at the end of chapter.

Fearne learns True Polymorph at L 20, and becomes an Ogre, and she and Pretty ride off in an onion carriage.

@@chicky6471 They really don't lol. 'ship was literally made from relationship, it was just slang. Saying you "ship" 2 characters means you see them in a relationship. Ofc most new folk literally jus say they "ship" whoever the fk jus cuz they did one cute thing around each other. xD I can see why ppl would be confused.
@@ratburgler Just because a word comes from another word doesn't mean it is the same word. "Parler" in french has vastly different implications to "Parler" in english despite obviously having the same route. A relationship is the thing, while a ship is the desire to see a relationship. Two different concepts
A side adventure where some scheming con-artist of a woman breaks Pretty's heart and the girls go on a revenge quest.
I'd *LOVE* to see a side quest like that!! And Matt better make the heartbreaker cold-hearted and unlikeable as possible.
Matt has said two of the most unpleasant people to RP were Trent Icathon and Mr Lionett because he was so disgusted by the characters he created. If this were to come to fruition there’d be a new name on that list

I'm glad he's so protective of them at the end even if he did friendzone them and Fearne was the only one who was actually interested in romance, haha.
Pretty is just the cutest.
Also, I was super impressed by him. At first glance, he seems really unintelligent. But later on, we learn that he's actually fairly well-spoken, and enjoys reading novels! Great job animating, I love what you did with the teeny-tiny-tie. Also, got some strong Totoro vibes from that giant umbrella, but I guess Pretty is a bit like Totoro.

I absolutely love Pretty. I now have a new favorite npc and I honestly thought no one would pull ahead of my dearest Kiri but my god, Pretty just slid right into the running. Matt makes absolutely adore npcs and I’m dying of the cuteness over here.

Seeing Pretty walk off into the rain, I immediately heard The Lonely Man (the "sad walking away music" from The Incredible Hulk) and it brought a sad smile to my heart.

Was Mat scared that one of the ladies would just up and tie the knot with pretty (totally reasonable imo) or why did he dump those three sweet little girls?
I guess it was just the most hilarious outcome he could think of. And the one that would upset the least amount of people. If the unexpectedly nice and soft-hearted Ogre had actually shown interest in one of the ladies, they would either have had to dump him and look at least a little bit bad for getting the poor ugly guy's hopes up or they might have actually gone through with it (I believe at least Fearne actually considered it, and maybe Laudna too, if only because she longs for anyone seeing her as something else than an undead monster) ... and though I don't mean to kink-shame, imagining a girl doing the naughties with a guy who is twice to triple her size is a bit gross. But having the ogre reject the girls in a polite way because he realizes that just none of them is "his type" was a funny subversion of expectations and none of the characters looked bad.
Pretty sure anatomy was a big factor lmao he says they're "too different" for him
I really think it is just they knew each other in such a short time, and the date didn't really begin with a genuine request. They are different people with different goals down the path and would probably rarely collide. Fearne is the most genuine in the romantic interest wise. It's the best outcome honestly, at this point if Pretty fell for any of them it didn't seem fair, and if Pretty gets slighted imagine the wrath of all those who grew fond of him xD (including me)

I'm pretty sure he had Pretty reject them all because while that dinner date was fun, it could've very easily dragged on for much longer. Those 3 were ready to spend the rest of campaign 3 in a dating sim lol 😏

Dating three women at once got Pretty enough XP to level up. He took an extra point in Charisma. That's the only explanation for what happened here.
