Following up from the notorious Django is this, well, alarm clock of a song - 'Wake Up'. And yes, we are awake.
This was the first time d'Some remained speechless even after recording the video; it was that powerful and unpredictable. It had so many great elements to discuss but unfortunately our brains were not functioning properly due to the shock. Apologies there, but we're sure no words can truly do justice to the craziness this song brings, and hey, at least our reaction proves how great this piece is, doesn't it?
We got OUTLAW left in our list, and oh boy, don't know if we will survive this album - but one thing for sure: this album was THE best album we've heard from ATEEZ thus far, and perhaps even from this year's Kpop release entirely.

he came on toktoq live the other day and said his surgery went well :) he said the recovery period should be short for normal activities but exercising and dancing might take a little longer. he said he would’ve taken a longer “break” from doing livestreams and stuff but he wanted to reassure everyone that he was doing ok so he came on for a few minutes… wooyoung said when he comes back to korea he’ll go bother jongho at their apartment bc he misses him :( i hope jongho has the best healing experience

Mingi uses 'Fix on' and hongjoong uses his laugh at the start of their rap. Mingi explained fix on is meant to say to listener to fix their attention to what he is about to say in his rap
This song feels like being sucked into a Black Hole. So overwhelming but i love it.
I really love the way Ateez subverts structures and forms. The way they progress a song is so freaking cool
FINALLY! I have been patiently waiting for this and Outlaw next. This is MY #1 song thank you for reacting. Hongjoong’s rap killed me. Yeosang’s deep harmonizes with Jongho’s belt is phenomenal

yes ! mingi says " fix on" which is his signature, a word play because if you pronounce it quickly it sounds like his surname (song) to really ask the listeners to focus on his rap

i’m sure you guys know that lyric videos can be wrong but i wanted to clarify that first line “can you hear me voice” is yeosang! if you hear a voice deeper than the grand canyon, it’s usually him (or yunho… mingi is usually the easiest to tell the difference between the deep voice line) yeosang also did the bass vocals at the ending part where wooyoung has the higher part (aka “you can hear my voice i know it”)

Mingi's trademark is fix on, everytime he will start rapping he said "fix on". while hongjoong is the laugh, but not always, most of the time.
And now you have found my favorite track on the album. This is, IMHO, a masterpiece.

this and dune are probably my favorites off the album because of the way they mix jonghos smooth high notes with harsh vocals for the drop. something about the contrast is so beyond satisfying to me

Initially, this was my favorite song on the album. I've changed my mind a few times since, but on first impression, this was the WTF song. On a VERY surface level, and along the themes you were talking about, it reminds me a little of At The Drive In or Coheed and Cambria.

Thats because Ateez is hauntingly beautiful and bone chilling thaaaaat good!!!!! They just come from a company that doesn’t have the wealth and connection to get them in huge fancy festivals in the west! Ateez is F amazing!!!!! When Wake Up starts it has the now familiar dark dystopian The World sound, but at 2:44, the added harmonies are reminiscent of the Beach Boys which changes the feel of the song making the tension almost shift to excitement. I wonder, do they even know who the Beach Boys are? is this coincidence? or did they deliberately use the harmonies as a callback to their Fever era?

Every song in this album, make me feel tired after the song ended. And I was like "what did I heard?" and continue with next song and feel tired again BUT its so satisfied!

This whole album reminds me of Muse whom I was a fan of back in the day. I'm so happy to hear such similar sounds from my favorite artists (and the same Anarchy concept too!). And ye Mingi's intro to his rap verse is Fix On and Hongjoong's is that little giggle or laughter, though depending on the timing and impact of their verse they might not be present in every song. Next and last song is my favorite song in this album and it's a little different, so I hope you like it as well :)

ATEEZ music just really sounds different, even by kpop standards. It's it's own genre. Like it has so much character in a hey-this-is-different-from-the-others-AND-I-never-knew-I-like-it type of way.

See the issue with you reacting to this song is that it has links to other songs, mostly Paradigm off that Japanese release (which is a FANTASTIC song, my god). However, there's other small links to other songs off other albums. You are going to have to come back and listen to list right after you listen to Paradigm. The links are in lyrics, sounds, and some musical recalls. They do SO much of this on this album. I hope you see this comment because you will find it really interesting! Make a note for Paradigm!
Also I'd love to see you guys revisit songs, even on your Patreon, to pull songs apart. I think that once you get through more of their discography, revisiting will be even more interesting for you.
