  • MOst 2 series and all cars from BMW come on a staggered set up and are rwd, so we usually have to do the tire rotation the way I did in the video.
Remember to rotate those tires around the 6000 mile mark to increase their longevity.

Dude all I can say is thank you so much for all you're help. I got a base 2 series but thanks to you I've been able to do a lot of modifications. For relatively cheap too. Thanks again.

Hey Fritz! Content keeps getting better! Love the background music and sounds. Pls use jack stands, even under the brake hubs of the removed tire/wheel. My floor jacks are new and well maintained but I am paranoid.
Also this is an ideal DIY if you have non-directional tires. If you are staggered and directional, well, that’s a tougher one. You’ll need to mount them in the opposite wheel.... oh wait, if it’s directional, it might also have the inside and outside sidewall marked so you have to look before spinning out those lug bolts.
    Keep up the great work!
    Steve

Fritz Ramos love to! Tell me what I wed to know! This is exciting. And shooting my shock/strut work this weekend too; fun but takes some work.

@@SteveWeltman Sorry Steve I just finished up the live stream. I think it should have notified you, but don't worry about it there's next time. How's the car doing?

@@FritzRamos Car is great! Love doing the work on the car, and going to go out and get the control arm set (front/rear, top and bottom!) from either FCP or Pelican today.
Doing the absolutely dead (and I mean dead) shocks in the rear, removed the springs, and need new spring perch pads (cheap consumables, shoulda bought them first). Recording doing this work is SO HARD to make it decent, like what I've seen on YT. New respect for YT creators.

Make sure you don’t have directional tires ( the tire is installed with the tread facing a specific direction, indicated by arrows facing forward on the tire). If you do, and they are staggered, you can’t rotate anything unless you re-mount the tires.

I was just researching this, it depends if you have directional tires, on a square setup you can only do front to back, if staggered you can't do anything,

Hi Fritz! I am swapping my wheels for my winter set and don’t have four sets of jack stands to lift the entire car up. I’m a little nervous about lifting the car from the rear (as I don’t want to place it in the wrong spot) would I be able to just jack up each side individually to switch out the back 2 wheels? Or individually jacking up each side one at a time? (Besides it taking a longer time, is there any other downfalls to this method?) thank you! I really love your videos!

Hi and thanks for the support 😊. You could jack up one side at a time if you have a spare or use the front and rear center jack points

      Hope that helps

Can't find the link to the lock? My 2020 X4 didn't come with one.

Do you know the thread pitch and length?

A little tip, before reinstalling the tire, put some antiseize compound on the inner portion of the brake disk where the rim mates to the disk as well as the threads on the lug nuts.

That is a good one! Do you mind if I pin your comment?

I think this will make the tyre pressure sensor show the wrong wheel
I mean the left tyre will be shown as a right one

      That hasn't been my experience
