I remember 10-15 years ago, I always liked it when a bus with EDS shows up because they were still rare in the Tampines area at the time and wished more buses had them. Apparently my wish became true, but now it's the opposite for me, I miss the days when old buses with destos were the norm and when EDS were still rare. I guess I should say be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it.

The idea of having a perm bus on a perm route was due to it being impractical for one bus to carry several desto boards. Hence route interlining wasn't practised. With EDS you can have half a million route details uploaded onto the system easily. One bus can perform revenue service on several different routes in a single shift.

It depends where the bus goes to. Btw, contacting SBS asking for the destos will just result in getting rejected because apparently the destos are "protected items", which in my opinion is a load of horse shit.

Damn son, the greatest generation of buses just went by in a blink, the best seats, aircon, engine, pure power. Best of all it's own heritage value. Just that some people can't be bothered to preserve at least one representative of these models. Yet today, I actually find the quality of service is getting worse and worse. Not just the less comfortable seats (I'm looking at you MAN A22/A95 E6) and engines that can get pretty loud (I'm looking at you K230UB and B9TL), but rather the LTA's ridiculous schedules slapped onto many routes with high passenger loads. They should just let the driver drive, not worry extra about being on time or too early or late (micromanagement), because at the end of the day, it's inevitable because traffic is dynamic and one single accident or even the weather can make a huge difference. Isn't road hogging a traffic offence? Why tf would you ask drivers to drive at 30-50 on the expressways? Makes 0 sense. To put this in context, I just sent a feedback to LTA over this morning's seriously confusing incident which SG5553B 168 was at a bus stop on Off Service, noticed some people exchanging something with the driver, with passengers still in the bus, closed the doors, switched back to 168 and drove off, leaving the bus stop full of people which caused mayhem for the subsequent buses.
MAN Buses like A22, A24 and A95 (E5/E6) are definitely superior buses. Models like Volvo B9TL, Citaros and K230UB are utterly trash and should be sent to the scrapyard. Forgive me if my opinion sounds harsh or it offended you (I know I'm going to get flamed in replies etc.) but why would you want to keep the B10BLE when there are so many new choices available? Even the K230UB does its job better, considering that it's the worst bus model on the list right now. I do agree that bus services are getting more shit as each day passes by. I regularly take bus 854 to school everyday and it's a pain in the ass when it's so overcrowded every morning with buses arriving at 8 mins frequency. When is 854 going to get MAN A24s to facilitate faster alighting at Eunos area? The answer lies in SMRT and LTA.

It's actually very common for one bus to carry multiple services, I've seen up to 10 full sets onboard a bus before especially if it's a spare.
