As a person with 3 kinds of psoriasis, I can totally understand scratching through bone. If not for biologics, I would probably have already done the same.
@KimuTone well considering that some of the spots on my back are about one square foot or more, they couldn't be removed. Also I've had some melanoma spots removed and as it healed, psoriasis filled it back it. Damage causes an immune response so I don't believe that would work.
@KimuTone I took Humira for about 2 years but I had to miss a few doses to get the covid vaccine and it stopped working. I believe if I wouldn't have missed the does it would have kept working. I now take taltz which is also an auto-inject shot but it is so painful. It works wonderfully but it hurts so bad. Dermatologists usually start with methotrexate which is a pill before starting shots but they skipped over that for me. I had melanoma prior to the shots and I've had it along with many dysplastic moles (not cancer but headed that way) that had to be remove. It's just another wonderful genetic mystery in my family.
*me scratching while watching the video* him: “scratching is also contagious, which is why your probably scratching right now” me: *slowly stops scratching*
When I was an older teen, I started having episodes of what is know as Jock Itch. My parents, being mostly holistic, let me suffer the first summer using " all natural cures". The second summer, I was waking up with bloody fingers from scratching in my sleep, I went to the Dr. and got Lotrimin. It changed my life
I live with this issue every day. I’ve scratched so much in places I bleed & get scares & they continue to itch. Something I found can kinda help is during a big itch try running your itch under cold or warm water. The sensation of the temperature change can help to calm down the stimulated itch. Once your itch comes back to room temp it might start again but by then hopefully you’ve taken your mind off it enough & can continue with your time.
@@mlgwolftrix4708 nah not really, it can be an autoimune disease like atopic dermatitis or psoriazis, those are incurable so baisically you can only sometimes treat the effect, no one knows how cure them, pretty shitty disease to have
I have atopic dermatitis and it’s so frustrating and feels like absolute hell… I’ve had this for 6-7 years now. It’s recently been horribly flaring up. I have a friend who went through this type offlare up across the entire body before me and she says she’s healed now so I’m hoping that’ll it’ll mostly heal up soon as well. Also, it’s not bugs, and like 7 Cioc said it’s an autoimmune disease. My brother has psoriasis (he’s been taking consistently medications in form of a shot and he’s been getting a lot better which is really good!) Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night feeling as if my skin is burning and it’s just so itchy… Cheers to us hopefully getting better soon.
BTW,I did not scratch nor feel an itch. Alas. Folks with amputated appendages, legs - feet - hands - fingers, may experience a flash of pain in a body part that's long missing. Comes out of nowhere and it may make your leg or arm twitch. Happens to me occasionally after below-the-knee surgery 18 years ago.
I too, thought that demons were the reason because we need to use our nails to make a "cross" on the origin of the itch to banish the demons from our skin.

Well i think itch is caused by unwanted chemical entering the skin So what happens is when we scratch is we are basically diluting the foreign chemical with moisture on our skin So whenever when you feel like big itching like(ant sting = ant injects formic acid which causes that terrible pain) apply water (diluting the chemical) on that part of skin or atleast saliva😂 its a lot better than the rash left after scratching
But why do wounds itch so much?? It's very unpleasant to scratch and can cause severe pain. Yet, no matter if it's a paper cut or a deeper wound, it's always itchy when healing. Does the body mistake scabbing or skin tightening while healing as a outside threat like a parasite? Seems counter productive!
Maybe it's a signal to keep the spot clean since in ancient days we didn't have anything to clean wounds with so it makes sense to scratch off any dirt on a spot that could get infected.
@@diemilchgesichter2411 well sure, but it also could have been a "something is better than nothing" type of situation where there might have been more dirt on a wound if left alone than there would if scratched. Think of when a wild cat cleans itself with its tongue, their tongue is not by any means the cleanest thing in the world but it's better than whatever is on their body. In any case I'm just guessing here.
@@NakanoHitori Actually, you're right. I do get it when bit by mosquitos, but since I don't get bit by them very often, I forgot. They're much less memorable than half my arm being covered in poison ivy blisters. But, as with the poison ivy, it's pretty easy to resist scratching them.
As an exceptionally itchy person who has many times scratched until there was blood, I am both terrified and unsurprised that someone has scratched all the way to the brain
Its not only contagious but for me its also suffering. I scratch myself in the sleep and wake up with big wounds all the time and it never stops my whole life

As a person with 3 kinds of psoriasis, I can totally understand scratching through bone. If not for biologics, I would probably have already done the same.
@KimuTone that’s a rlly good question
@KimuTone well considering that some of the spots on my back are about one square foot or more, they couldn't be removed. Also I've had some melanoma spots removed and as it healed, psoriasis filled it back it. Damage causes an immune response so I don't believe that would work.
Wouldn't the nerves have been scratched away if you've reached the bone?
@@singer2be256 I mean yeah lol but scar itch is bad as well on the outside edges of the scar

It changed my life

@@KillTheCupcakes That does not always kill fungus, do your homework and quit being a smartass.
I live with this issue every day. I’ve scratched so much in places I bleed & get scares & they continue to itch.
Something I found can kinda help is during a big itch try running your itch under cold or warm water. The sensation of the temperature change can help to calm down the stimulated itch. Once your itch comes back to room temp it might start again but by then hopefully you’ve taken your mind off it enough & can continue with your time.
damn, i think that might be an actual problem, go check it out; that ain't normal

@@mlgwolftrix4708 nah not really, it can be an autoimune disease like atopic dermatitis or psoriazis, those are incurable so baisically you can only sometimes treat the effect, no one knows how cure them, pretty shitty disease to have
@@7cioc251 As a diabetic, I know this pain all too well
I have atopic dermatitis and it’s so frustrating and feels like absolute hell… I’ve had this for 6-7 years now. My brother has psoriasis (he’s been taking consistently medications in form of a shot and he’s been getting a lot better which is really good!) Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night feeling as if my skin is burning and it’s just so itchy…
Cheers to us hopefully getting better soon.

I always thought itches were caused by the lesser demons of the underworld
Mi Wait they're NOT?????
I mean, we can't prove this ISN'T true…
I too, thought that demons were the reason because we need to use our nails to make a "cross" on the origin of the itch to banish the demons from our skin.

ITCHY ITCHY AND ITS NOT FUNNY I itch so bad I can't even stop writing this comment! HAVE TO GO AND SCRATCH MY SELF AND SCREAM!
Why does my itch go away when I scratch it? Anyone else?
Well i think itch is caused by unwanted chemical entering the skin
So what happens is when we scratch is we are basically diluting the foreign chemical with moisture on our skin
So whenever when you feel like big itching like(ant sting = ant injects formic acid which causes that terrible pain) apply water (diluting the chemical) on that part of skin or atleast saliva😂 its a lot better than the rash left after scratching

@@darkmario720 that doesnt even make sense when you consider scratching with dirty hands in an healing wound will cause more infection
@@darkmario720 it could be that the senses around the wound are more "alert" and over react more, thinking something is trying to enter the wound?
Maybe the regeneration of the skin for that wound could cause the itchinng
