    Excelente and informative video on film restauración.
    Is there a masterclass on film and video conservation, preservation, and restauración, where the preprocessing (cleaning the film and tools used) is covered together with the post-processing?

    I'm very new to DR and have watched a few of the free videos and played for several hours. This should help restore some old home movies, the oldest of which was captured from 8mm reel from 1948!

    Interesting. Very useful tools to know you have for those odd times.

    I was hoping to see the vector scope when you worked on the faded color issue. I have had some success by balancing the shot as you did, and then rotating the hue to align the skin tones. This has worked for me several times. Any comment? Thanks for this-great info!

      You will get the best results using the Parade Display as the VectorScope is more limited in what you'll see.

    Which format is better to use - DPX or Cineon? Do you find yourself using the Dirt Removal tool (the one from DaVinci Revival) very often?

      DPX or Cineon are essentially the same file format. The main difference is that DPX was developed by ILM as they needed information in the file header which did not exist with the Cineon files that were developed by Kodak. I actually use the automatic Dirt Removal tool in the Revival Open FX Plugin area of Resolve quite a bit. It works extremely well but you need to be careful when using it with cartoon animation content.

    Do you have a tutorial on how to do stabilization on film?

    Do you need the paid version of DR to use these tools?

    • @BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat
      @BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat  2 роки тому

      Yes, you do need the paid version of Resolve as it is an Open FX plugin set.

      However when you get the paid version of Resolve, the license key will work on two computers simultaneously so it's a great deal!
