Impressions of MAPA's "Two Ceasefires" rally for peace in Gaza and Ukraine

Saturday, February 24th marked the two-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine and the 140th day of the destruction of Gaza. On this day MAPA, together with several co-sponsors, hosted a "Two Ceasefires" rally in Downtown Crossing, Boston to demand peace in both Gaza and Ukraine. We heard from a variety of inspiring speakers, including Boston Globe columnist Stephen Kinzer; Plaintiff in the genocide case against Biden Ayman Nijim; Tri-chair of the Massachusetts Poor Peoples Campaign Rev. Dr. Savina Martin; President of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament, and Common Security Dr. Joseph Gerson; and State Representative Mike Connolly. Ben Grosscup, Executive Director of the Peoples Music Network for Songs of Freedom and Struggle, and Jenny Bonham-Carter provided wonderful musical accompaniment that the ralliers sang along to.
