Martial art is an art. Art of fighting you could say. Kung Fu is built upon Chinese philosophies. It’s also series of fighting technique. Fighting could be as simple as basically punching, how do you punch though?
Some of the commentators here are so ridiculous as if they know everything about martial arts. Yet they don't even know that kungfu and wushu are THE SAME THING. Kung fu actually means "male worker", wu shu means "the art of war" or "martial arts". Wushu is the present official name of kungfu. Bruce Lee was the one who used the term "kungfu" and made it become so popular. But wushu and kungfu are the same thing. Wushu also has its combat category, which is called sanshou/sanda, just like kumite in karate. If you guys still insist that martial arts is only for fighting and nothing else, then you have to start learning all over again. If you learn martial arts properly and from the right master of course, you should also gain self-control. mental strength, discipline and humility. I have been practising martial arts for more than 30 years, I am a former wushu athlete, my father is a wushu coach and yet I am still learning everyday. I also like to practise with my friends who have different martial arts background such as karate coach, taekwondo coach, muay thai coach and others. We like to learn from each other, not insult each other. Because that's what martial artists should do : learn from each other and be humble. I have also trained with a wushu grandmaster from China named Lie Decheng lao shi.
Siani Tan Hi, I’m interested in the Chinese martial arts. Which art would you recommend for someone who wants to stay healthy but able to defend themselves at the same time?
Hi Naori. Actually, all types of martial arts has its own uniqueness. But you can try learning taijiquan if u want to stay healthy as well. It may look slow and fragile, but believe me it still makes u sweat a lot if u do it properly. It is also a form of self-defense of course. In fact, taijiquan was created by Master Zhang San Feng, the founder of the Wudang clan and one of the greatest martial artists in the ancient China.
All kung fu forms are about focus and discipline. Even after years of very regular and hard training such a form is not easy to perform. The level of devotion one needs is just almost absolute. I very much respect this man. Talking is easy, but actually doing this form is not
I'm not sure if anyone noticed but he does have Shaolin written on the back of his shirt. I know this school. They don't only train in form but fighting application also. This kind of energy used to complete this form is above normal athletic capability also. Just saying. I respect what he is doing. 😊
If caucasian ask, car disc-brake disc-caliper what size and how many pots... They should learn this eagle-claw and other claw techniques to figure out disc warping. Another gripping style for massage. Hand hold "dining plate", index finger initiate grip, max grip middle finger longer, fourth and fifth curls backwards release pressures, thumb on other side angles outwards to compensate. (Wrist rotate into "dining plate") Small caliper = 1 pot, big caliper = 1 pot (no initiate, no release), or else build your own caliper (with initiate and release). What will you recommend for disc brake calipers.?
