Synth people are starting to sound like gamers expecting every new synth to be ground breaking and the next best thing. I think I sounds pretty good and super hands on which is cool.
The multi-timbrality is pretty unique nowadays, especially with such great sound, fx and the amount of voices. Plus great drum sounds AND multi track audio over USB, people don't know shit!
I hadn’t given this too much attention so far, but this looks like an incredibly versatile sound module - that also sounds absolutely lovely to my ears
Vignettes going deeper on each engine would be appreciated. 10 minute deeper preset tours with tweaks. Great fun. Deep little desktop for sure. Nice job.
When I first compared this to the MC-707 I couldn't see the point, but I'm beginning to come around. Not sure about some of the engine types, but for those who want a groovebox with good sound editing controls this seems like a good choice. This and a Minifreak would be a great combo.
I've been hanging out for Jack's thoughts on this! 11:30 He's been waiting on Andy the man! I personally love the design of this! Can you do keyboard split on it? (i.e. two different sounds: one lower half , one higher half?)
@@jackduxbury1632 No, you are always great and it's all fun in the end! Just felt like I would have loved to see you play a bit more, I like your playing style more when you're less constrained. 😊 Cheers and have a great weekend!
Look y'all. Roland put their VST in a new box. This one looks vaguely vintage-ish. What kind of new box will Roland think of next to put their VST inside?
I own a good bit of Roland gear but I'm not impressed by this. They basically give you a watered down version of Zencore (which I have already via MC-707), gave you less sounds but a more hands on user interface. It's cheaper than 707 for a reason. I'll pass on this. I wish Roland would finally update their e-drums because almost everyone knows using Superior Drummer or other software sounds miles better than stock Roland kits, even on their flagship TD50. You can buy a cheap e-kit + good drum software for maybe 2K total that sounds better than a 6-8K Roland kit.
The workflow is insane, I'm selling my Jupiter xm - and my Polyend sequencer - just for it. Ok I may loose many zencore sounds, but I still have my aerophone for supernatural wind sounds and the pocket size of this sh4d is really impressive; it will be easier for me to pack up every of my stuff to jam with friends outside of my home. This gear may not fit to you, while it is clearly the best option Roland ever made to stand my needs in terms of easy to go producing. I don't see it as irrelevant, Roland just want to touch more clients.
Great synth - but there's no stock anywhere (unless you're prepared to pay over the odds for a japan import). I think Roland dropped the ball here - what's the point in all these youtube demo's for something you can't buy ???
Yeah you need to make your own sounds. Presets are always trash on Roland stuff. This engine is capable of nice things. Unfortunately i already have like 6 synths and can not justify another that doesn’t do anything super unique.
Disagree. I have got some incredible and interesting sounds from it. I think some of the presets Jack randomly picked weren't great, stabbing a couple of chords for a second or two and moving on doesn't prove anything. Also this was created with sound design in mind, so shaping & building your own patches with the hands on controls, not lazily picking presets from a list
Yea. .. tr6s. Or 101. 0r 707 still. Seems 2 give more bang ❗️ boogies ( I’m on a bout the new style ones ). This is to me like a warning shot to behringer

This is classic Jack and Andertons, keep up the good work. Definite buy
100k!!! Congratulations
brilliant gets straight into all the noises!! sounds gorgeous now I want one, thank goodness they've ditched the green🤣
Looks like a neat package of all the classic Roland sounds.
Starsky Carr has the best videos on SH-4D

Hey!!

Congratulations
quite liking some of these patchs.not bad!
Great review man! I am not a Roland fan but this SH-4D sounds nice and have a clean interface, Love cheers 😃🧡
I just love your videos - best synth-entertainment in the world!!!

What does the mf add?
I might just have to buy one of these!
Seems the SH-4D should be part of a patch battle of some sort. thanks.
Let's Go Get Some Chickens BABY, YEEAHH!!
Very nice!

😆 🤣 😂

a sound demo that wasnt a rushed timed thing might have been nice..
Sending my full support host God bless
nice! i need some proper jeff mills stuff with good 909 sounds to convince me completely tho, havent heard it in a demo yet...
Does it have an IN input jack for processing external audio signals via the numerous knobs?
Everything works, especially free, use until it is too late!
7:58 Bring back the D Beam😂
Do a vid on the stage keys competitors to Yamaha CK , say best buys £1,000/£1500 ish
Felt a little stressful listening through this demo, would love to see just a little more exploration on some of the more interesting presets.
Sorry I stressed you out mate 😔

Is it possible to cue the different parts via the headphone output seperate from the main output?
After all this time I just noticed Jack has amazing blue eyes

It’s a miss like the korg drumlogue
I like the device , but I don't like how it sounds.
Let the video breathe man -- just when you found a good one your time was up!!
Right on you guys made it!! Love the channel

It's the same sounds that you can hear anywhere else, there is nothing new they can come up with.

Usual Roland suspects
tHE GUY IN THE BACK NEED TO SHUT THE THE FRONT DOOR
Yeah, but you can pick it up and wobble it - you can’t do that with a CS-80! 😅
damn, i’ve ordered already one, but it sounds soo thin and outdated - iam the only one?
Sounds worse than a 90's rompler
Yes I thought the same after watching various videos. Sounds thin and a bit shrill.
Great synth - but there's no stock anywhere (unless you're prepared to pay over the odds for a japan import).

J'ai écouté une vidéo d'un test du jx08 et celui là juste après. Le son du sh4d n'est pas bon.
Thank you for the review.
Sorry to say I don't like the sound of it. Seems dated and not very appealing imo.
It has brand new, unique oscillators
Deepmind 12d will give you more joy and be far more useful imo
He's doing his very best to appear impressed. Not easy . Not a very inspiring bit of kit.
sucks that only youtubers have these :/
I have it. I'm not a youtuber.
@@valuemastery lucky.
There was not 1 sound in over 12 minutes that I thought 'wow'. This sh-4d as far as I have seen , seems just too bland to purchase.

Nothing groundbreaking same sounds on all of my virtual instruments. Cool money grab for those with gas
Useless sounds for my liking. Great demo, but I don’t like the sounds. Will pass on this synth for sure.
Extremely underwhelming product. Watched multiple in-depth reviews and it’s disappointing. Maybe better for custom patches? The presets are MEH
So many presets, yet not even one single somewhat inspiring sound. Jack good, product bad.

You can walk out of the shop w this under your arm and then have a ton of good sounds under your fingers.
If it takes more than that to inspire you, maybe it's not the synth
Yea. .. tr6s. Or 101. 0r 707 still. Seems 2 give more bang ❗️ boogies ( I’m on a bout the new style ones ). This is to me like a warning shot to behringer
For me Roland are so far behind. Apart from their obvious sounding vintage gear I never use Roland sounds. The cloud thing is a Royal mess too.
My virus B from 1999 sounds better, than this cheesy zencore engine. The sh101 emulation is a joke.
Synth sounds like poo poo bruh.
Gateway Drug Poor choice of words.
Roland has too much product overlap. This, the MC-707, MV-1 and TR6 are near peers.
