Whakaue Whakaue event takes place at Ōwhata marae

Descendants of Ngāti Whakaue gathered along the shores of Lake Rotorua over the weekend, to the Whakaue Whakanuia event. Normally held biennially at Te Papaiouru Marae, this time around the hui was hosted in the village of Ōwhata, known for the iconic love story between Hinemoa and Tūtānekai. Ethan Oneroa reports.
