I finally got my homebrew regenerative receiver to work..hand capacitance is not so much an issue.

Thanks for uploading this. I’ve built maybe ten Regen receivers… some worked to a degree and others didn’t work at all. Dunno why. But I’m persisting and it is good to watch videos of successful projects like this one. I hope to use a regen receiver to have a few conversations on the ham bands when I finally make something that is sufficiently stable and sensitive. Best wishes from New Zealand. ZL3ABX.

@StephenCooteNZ Thank you so much for your kind comment it means alot. I too have built many regens over the years, I was out of the hobbie for a while so had to play catchup. I still have these urges to build regens I don't quite know why but I love them the simplicity and the surprisingly good reception and pretty good selectivity considering there is only usually a hand full of parts. I to want to build a little transceiver that's an itch I've yet to scratch lol. Please if you do build a regen I would be interested in seeing it, if that's possible, I like looking at other builds.
Thank you once again for commenting all the best

Hi Martin thank you..I do have quite a few transformers that I have scavenged over the years,so it looks like I'm going to have to wade through lots of cobwebs and dust to get to them lol. Thanks for the clarification 👍

I would be very interested in building it I'm not sure if you are a regular on UA-cam but hope you get this message I could Google it but you may have some much more in depth knowledge in this area that would be of great use.kjnd regards

You are an awesome builder! When I look at my awful construction techniques (a 6BF6 Morgan, see drive.google.com/file/d/0B7AnoMf_eQGwLXFnbjhBWHI2Qzg/view?usp=sharing) or my ill-built crystal radios, I wish I had the knack you have for building front panels and wiring the circuits! Contratulations!

Martin Thank you very much for your kind words, but I have seen what I consider to be works of art on UA-cam amongst homebrewers mine would pale into insignificance in comparison. although on my next build I will take what I have learned during this build and make the next one much better.i took a look at your link, there's nothing wrong with it you got it going and once you have completed and happy with it you can further refine it that's the beauty of rats nest construction. i like the fact your using tube technology something I hope to start tinkering with.keep doing what your doing you can only get better that's what I always believe.

Thank you again. Yes, I am a nostalgic builder. I am 51, and I favor keeping the skill of building glowbugs alive. I actually feel more confortable building tube radios, but I have also built a couple of broadcast band and SW bands radios using the 2N2222A and the MPF102, and they worked like a charm. You can start with Alfred Morgan's one-tube regenerative receiver and then proceed to build a Twinplex or a Dorle set. Believe me, they run on almost any voltage and in my experience, the values components (tubes included) are not that critical. Building and tweaking Morgan's regenerative radio has been a very valuable experience and a most rewarding, fun endeavor for me. I wish you well, feel free to ask anything. (I do not prize myself in being an experienced builder, but my projects do work most of the times, and I am willing to share my experience with others.)
