November is always a great time to celebrate Matilda the Musical. This year in particular because today the new Matilda film is released throughout the UK and Ireland. This year also marks the show’s 11th year in the West End and yesterday was the 4000th performance. There’s also a production running in Korea and the Japanese production has just had their press conference yesterday. It makes me wonder how many paper planes have been flown to the auditorium, how many chocolate cakes have been eaten and how many lives have been changed because of this show. I’m certainly one of those lives and I’m sure all the Matildas here. I’m truly honoured to be able to work with the cast of my favourite show on several projects these few years. Since the ‘Quiet’ video two years ago, it’s often been requested that we do one with ‘Naughty’. To celebrate the new Matilda film and the show’s 11th year in the West End - and in fact the 12th year since Stratford-upon-Avon, these Matildas from different RSC productions have revisited this iconic number in our latest video. All the Matildas here and I would like to congratulate Alisha, all the maggots and everyone involved in the film on this official release day!
