Sir although I'm Sikh and mother tongue is Punjabi and couldn't understand Sanskrit but it was privilege to listen. It is ancient and precious. Should be promoted proudly. We are lucky that we still have people like him.
Punjabi has roots in sanskrit. The name Punjab itself is a Sanskrit word. Confluence of 5 rivers is Punjab. And we all know which rivers define Punjab. Guru Govind singh Maharaj was a Sanskrit scholar apart from being a warrior, leader, and our revered Maharshi.
Indopean languages have Sanskrit as their mother. Punjabi, Hindi, Nepali, Konkani, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Singhalese, etc. have Sanskrit as their parent.
I haven't studied Sanskrit yet I could get what he is saying. Such a sweet, hearty language. Shame on those who are protesting, heckling the Minister for speaking in Sanskrit. Parliament committee shall include Sanskrit-English translators, if not there already
I am a Telugu speaking person and I could understand most of the speech this Mahanubhava was giving. It's as if my brain was hardwired to understand Sanskrit. The notion that Sanskrit is a dead language and isn't easy to understand is completely false. I could think of so many words that have derived from Sanskrit that are common in both Hindi and Telugu. I have been looking to learn Sanskrit for a while now. This is such a great news. Reviving Sanskrit is our Civilizational duty and would be an ode to all the great men and women of Bharata.
@abhijeet singh Yes. Absolutely true . Which is why most of the Telugu speaking people might not have difficulty in understanding Hindi (derived from Sanskrit). If I ever need a word in proper Hindi, I look for Telugu words which fit in seamlessly. उदय - ఉదయం , समय - సమయం, देश - దేశం , देह - దేహం , राष्ट्र - రాష్ట్రం , नियम - నియమం ,प्रण - ప్రాణం, नष्ट - నష్టం, सुख - సుఖం , दुःख - దుఃఖం , परिणय - పరిణయం. These are just a few examples of the many words derived from Sanskrit to Telugu. Usually the Telugu words carry a suffix from the Sanskrit words.
@abhijeet singh True that. I would never understand when people spoke in Urdu and Bollywood completely hijacked Hindi with it. Learning new languages is always a great initiative. Good Luck with it. शुभम् भवतु । 🙏🏼
