The outlaw country western swing jazz scene in the 1940s was total rebellion and a lifestyle. It was covered up in the 1950s, repackaged sold as rockabilly - rock n roll which absolutely spawned punk rock. My Grandfather's band; Lucky White and His Dude Ranch Playboys was one of the those bands. At 23 years old with a 19 year old Leodie Jackson their 1946 sound recording of THAT NAGGIN WIFE OF MINE was released on Courtney records. It was total punk rock in that the lyrics were very risqué and disparaging. It got them banned from the Grand Ole Opry 78 years ago. In 1958 Lucky had a mohawk. He was forced to wear his cowboy hat on stage or he wouldn't be allowed to perform and get paid.
Oh wow…I used to have a dub of this on VHS along with Chrome videos and some other things. Actually I still have it but the tape snapped! Thanks for sharing.
