Next expansion for this game will be released Thursday 5-18 it will include the ability to airdrop troops do amphibious landings have communications breakdowns and jamming, aircraft damage modeled, new weapons (lasers, rail guns). As someone else said setting up missions and letting the AI work is a way to make this overwhelming complexity a bit more user friendly without taking away all the user interface. With the scenario editor you can set up scenarios as complex as multiple carrier battlegroups fighting a WW3 version of Midway to a couple of river patrol boats exchanging machine gun fire. Almost all countries military forces are in the database with new platforms being added all the time.
@@scarface9396 Literally everything is available. One fun scenario I like creating is a Falklands scenario where I see if one Type 45 (maybe a Type 23/26 as well), an Astute and some Eurofighters can hold off the Argies. I give the Argies Russian/Chinese jets so as to make it a challenge ofc and it's realistic as they may one day procure some of these assets The databases are constantly upgraded too meaning as new data comes to light as too the weapons/sensors/assets themselves, the program is kept relevant to the present. Well, as much as what is allowed due to technology being classified ofc. It's as close as you'll get to a real sim
@@Camcolito Yeah the reason is the text is too small and i do not give a fig if others can read it - it damn too small and no option to change it- game sucks
the Zumwalt-class is in the game database. . In terms of sensors, you have the AN/SPY-3 radar which is top-notch, also a highly-modern FLIR/camera and a towed-array sonar. For weaponry, a 40-cell Peripheral VLS with the usual missiles (Tomahawk, ESSM, SM-3, ASROC), two 155mm guns with long-range, guided ammunition, two 30mm autocannons and torpedo tubes. On top of that, you have Stealth, a helo, and a 35kn top speed.
you should set up missions for the aircraft instead of just launching them. this is rather important for Tankes, AEW, ASW and rather nice to do for patrols.
Hi, the fact that ships won't turn on their own initiative to open their firing arcs for point-defence weapons against incoming sea-skimming missiles is a game-killer for me, or am I doing something wrong?
Yes, but scenarios rarely give you any land units to control. And if they do, it's usually just a small platoon. There are a good amount of steam workshop scenarios which probably give you land combat, though.
yeah it is great at vehicle simulation but keeping track of say individual soldiers not to mention civilians and all sort of other animals. That would be a little tricky. It is a naval game and land based units tend to be mostly targets but there are tanks and artillery which function fairley well in relation to navy type units.
The most hardcore wargames that I know: Command Ops 2 Gary Grigsby's War in the East/West Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition Armored Brigade Histwar: Napoleon Combat Mission series
very time consuming. i own and play this but infrequently cause you better set aside an afternoon. even the shor training senerios will take a few hours
1. Wait for a sale 2. If you can't wait, consider buying the northern inferno standalone ($15) 3. Remember that this game's database would sell for $300-$400 ALONE. You are getting a $350 database with a full simulator to play with those units attached to it
@@Excroat3 Yeah £50 for this is a steal if you understand what it is you're actually getting. His first error was in thinking this is a 'game'. I know allot of people say that about simulators but this really isn't a game at all. You don't need all the DLC either. If you're too lazy to create your own scenarios you can just download the community made ones.
Like volunteering for extra school homework? And paying almost a hundred dollars to do the homework? With no graphics can you say boring? Try Arma 3 and/or DCS much cheaper, more realistic and great gameplay graphics Although this game would be great for the military enthusiast!

Are Japanese and British warships available? Like the Atago, Type 45, QE class?
They have essentially everything from every power from 1946 onwards, including some WW2 era ships. Its a very detailed database it has.

Make a video on what star has the furthest (front edge) habitat zone
One thing I do not like is that there is no photo inside the profile, so the gamer can not understand what kind of ship is that with only lots of data
There are pictures for most units
Pretty cool game. Would like ground troops
So.......Harpoon on a new system? Is that what we're looking at here?
no harpoon was way better and made more then 20 years ago go figure !
@@ysvry cut the crap, harpoon doesnt come close to this game in any aspect.
Hola Anton, este juego se puede jugar gratis? o es necesario tener dinero?
Does this game have air defense destroyers like the Atago and the Sejong The Great?
the Zumwalt-class is in the game database.

Is this game easy at the beginning for people with little to no experience in strategy games?
No.
Try Hearts of Iron IV... it's one of the easiest Paradox games
no, but you can learn easy enough. theres a helpful AI that will do a lot of tasks for you as you gain greater experience and knowledge
