Its therapeutic watching a skilled craftsman work. Now if only I can watch him from my porch doing some extensions and alterations for me! So hard to find someone you can trust to do good job these days!
Well done, young man! Having pride in your work and all!
Nice Stu,
I was always taught that-100ml cavity with a chase straight up the middle.
4"damp doubled back on itself nice and tightly folded into the chase..... Good work once again sit.

I enjoyed seeing newspaper.
great show. thanks much.
As always a great video ,Well done .
Cheers keith
Great help, thanks. But what are the metal runner things which you screwed to the walls, before cementing the blocks in place?
I have come across your channel, As I am looking at doing a bit of diy bricklaying myself lol. I admire your craftsmanship Are you self taught? Or did u learn this at college?
College bud but I have lessons you can take on www.bestbricky.com
Did you have to cut the cavity out the original wall or could you just put the starter clips on and point the joint ?
You cut the cavity out to maintain the flow of air around the building
Ohh yeah I get you nice 1 👍🏻
Quality videos, always enjoy them and the cheeky type r clips. Same as mine 👍
Cool music choices
Great work Stu! Do you wet up the blocks or change the mix on such a hot day to stop the blocks from being hungry ?
not on the concrete solids, a little more wet mix for thermolyte
Working on construction to me its an art nice job 👌👍
What do you prefer laying brick or block
Top job Stu hard graft in this heat. Stu what mix do you use for your practice mortar is 5 sand 1 lime correct? Keep up the good work nice 1 👍
4 : 1 mate
stu crompton nice 1 👍
Hi Stu, have you ever come across a boot-lintel? I think that's what I was told they were called... I've seen one attempted to be removed and replaced by a steel beam and it looked tricky to get out.. the reason I ask is I have one above a window in my own house and wanting to replace with doors ( which I already have) but the door width is 2 inches wider than the window..... Basically looking for advise as to weather I could just leave the lintel in and cut down an inch either side of the window? If that makes sense... Or if it's just going to be easier to just acro floor joists above window inside and brickwork outside and replace the whole thing... 🤔😕 Thanks for any help mate!!
Top work as usual. Working in this heat isn’t much fun at the mo!
great work as usual. cant believe you guys are still using solid blocks on that side of the pond though... what do they weigh? think you said something about 7 newtons in another video but no clue what that means and my calculator has no unit of measurement by that name.
Hi stu do you have any advice on how to brake out on your own I am a site bricky but wanting to do my own thing
I will try answer in a video Craig it’s not easy but you need to get your work advertised
I noticed your blocks are in quarter bond everywhere other than your first course, I've always been taught to go half bond, a quarter and a half on the corners.
Hi, this is a great cartoon, I wanted to know what materials do you use to make mortar? And in what proportion?
everything takes longer in this weather,i tiled a big ensuite last week & it was far too hot.
Good work can you put a list of the music you play on your videos that you
Nice video, after I muted the sound.
Настоящее мужское занятие! Хорошо !
what or why did you put the silver metal work either side of the cavity wall on the house fascia
Bacon+cheese toasties...... Omg... My favourite
Mine too mark
@@Stucrompton1 I've watched about 5/6 of your videos all excellent stuff,, very varied work,,, especially like the "worlds biggest corner" "lol... Great stuff
GOD BLESS YOU 👍👍👍👍🙏🐈
Love your boots, where did you get them. Tired of uncomfortable boots
Stu roughly how much would a single storey kitchen extension cost 13ft by 11ft
Bacon and cheese, never thought of adding cheese!
Hi Stu what does it look like now all rendered up?
There’s a video somewhere Phil
Do those small blocks come that size or did you have to cut them all?great video again.
Had to cut them all bud
Interested to know why two cuts on the left hand existing wall has been made? To create a cavity. And on the right hand side one cut has been made with some dpc inserted.
Please can any one explain the reason behind this? Why not just place the wall starter ties?
Interested to know the reasoning behind that.
And why on the right side did the wall ties only go half way up?
(Not criticizing, just wanting to understand and learn)
Thanks 👍
Good job no need blue brick to bottom
Did ya have a stone in ya muck stu on the second course on the corner. You took the block back off and then put it back on again
Yeah mate it’s a pain in the “@&£ 👍
It sure is. Cracking game that France one was. Wouldn't like to meet them
Ooh brickies do love a stone in the muck after they give a hoddy a tongue lashing ha ha
On the flip side the stones are usually kindly returned by brickies ha ha
4:28 what is that strip on top of the bricks? what is the purpose?
It's damp course😀
Чистая работа ! Толково сделано !
I need to do this. Why did he chase the wall
How many hours do you by day? Hello from Guatemala!0
Is it correct that no need for planning permission to build such a porch?
Typee R!!!! 2.0 petrol turbo, made a video and proper blast 1st-3rd and put a camera back to fromt stu!!!
Top job 👍
Why have you cut your wall starters down in length?
you are a marvelous person but you did not offer sandwich LOL
Stu can let me know how I can donate you an impact driver pal, it drives me mad watching you drive screws in with that percussion drill or a screwdriver lol! Love your videos mate, keep up the great work
Andy I don’t like impact drivers because of the noise they make, they’re bad for my hearing. I have tinnitus. I was working out my car kc had van so only had screwdriver. It did the job but cheers anyway mate

I want to do bricklaying in college but iv been told women get treated differently and I was wondering your points of view on this P.S love your videos
Treat it as another challenge to get past and aim to do the job to a better standard than everyone else. I am disabled and that's my attitude. It works for me and will for you too
