I must say that each episode just becomes better and better. On the first few it felt like there was no real end to the video and it just stops. But now I can clearly feel the beginning, middle and end. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks :) It's sometimes hard to find a good point to end / begin the next, as it remains one big playthrough of course. But I try to tie a different concept to each episode if I can!

Same honestly started grinning like a mad man as I saw the iron start flowing from the miners. And that grin got bigger as I watched it disperse through the base.
I think this episode was the first one in the series so far where I could actually breathe during the video. Every other one has been so tense, I barely even blink through the whole episode.. but once those turrets started killing things, I actually yelled "It's working!" out loud in my office at work. Thank goodness no one else was here to hear it.
Thanks everyone! The increase in pledges since this series has been unreal. I don't even know what to say! Except thank you all for the "productivity modules" :)
The pure joy in your voice when you finally got the iron flowing and gleefully upgraded all the things was wonderful. But it's not over yet! Excited to see what challenges you deal with next episode
You and DoshDoshington are by far and away the best Factorio let's play creators. Keep up the great work, always happy to see the next installment of this series
It might be a good idea to install an alarm system that goes off when oil is about to run out in the miner expansion in case you forget to refuel on time
This series is epic. Like after literally thousand of hours of personal Factorio deathworlds and separately watching Factorio on UA-cam ad nauseum this is easily the most gripping content I've seen. Your planning, mistakes, and drama are just great. Though I think you undersell how close to god mode you are, once you get to power armor mk2 you just become a one man army. Once you get two arc reactors and legs and shields you just avoid any personal damage outside big worms and with even a few destroyer capsules and a stack uranium ammo bases melt so fast you can just run in destroy and retreat to a flamer/laser outpost to deal with stragglers. Nukes/Artillery can also work, but you should be a god long before you have enough resources to really automate them at scale, I find they are more maintenance on expansion/lazy expansion and not as cost-effective as one man army.
I've always been one of those short attention span kind of people who can't stand a 30 minute let's play style episode, and yet I have and will continue to love every minute of this series! I'm excited whenever a new one comes out, and can hardly wait the time it takes to get the next one!
There are few things in life that are more satisfying than full belts flowing from a freshly secured ore deposit! Good work! Now just repeat couple of times ;)

Congratulations on another victorious battle! Your turret creep technique is fantastic, I've learned a lot from this series that I'll need to apply to my next run... My prediction for the next step of this run was going to be unlocking Artillery and using it to clear out the biters, but I think there's still a lack of resources for that. Plus unlocking artillery would cost like 2000 yellow science, too much to afford right now. So I think instead it'll be a matter of more turret creep until you've secured one new source of each resource. On the map I see a copper patch right above the new iron patch, with only one large biter base within range (plus a few small expansions). That doesn't seem too bad. The coal is the real tricky one at this point, I think. The starting oil patch can be stretched pretty far with speed modules, so that doesn't seem as pressing. Looking forward to the next episode!
getting to MK.2 power armor would be a massive feat, personal lasers won't be a problem since reactors can fit there and still leave a lot of room for other things
this is best series i have ever followed very interesting stuff and a lot of factorio knowledge to pull this off glad you got the iron and the series can continue. GOOD STUFF👍
I've been watching since the Biter Island Challenge a couple years ago and you're the only Factorio creator whose content really engages me. I really enjoy the problem-solving and it's been super cool to see you open up and narrate with your voice over the past few months. Keep up the good stuff
interestingly, i'm noticing that when the bots dont place the substation, your impulse is to go for your hotbar, instead of pressing q on the substation. i think that would be a lot faster.
Great work my man, this series has got me way too invested lol, at edge of my seat every episode and I audibly cheered when the iron started flowing through the base again, can't wait for the next episode

Good going dude, love the series. A deconstruction plan for laser turrets and not the substations or power lines makes it a bit easier to turret creep along, and allows you to quickly pick up your turrets and move on without cutting power to the next block, good for when you've got a limited amount of turrets :) Keep it up dude, already looking forward to the next one!
It's been an incredible journey in these first 10 episodes. From carefully managing pollution with a pre-starter base, to taking an oil field so that you can make a real starter base with sustainable defenses, and now finally securing the first additional patch of iron to bring you back from the brink of death. In some sense, you just need to do more of the same for the other resources, but it really feels like you've transitioned from the early game to the mid game and this is the start of a new chapter. Can't wait to see where you're at in 10 more episodes! :)

I don't know how to put into words how impressed I am watching this series. Your use of the offensive turret blueprint was very clever, and I just really love waching each episode as they come out and can't wait to see where this goes!
You make maybe the best factorio series i have ever watched. Thank you!! But a quick tip, you should make some wall spam around your walls, so biters get stuck in them and are easier to target.
This is the most engaging series on youtube I've come across in a looong time, having the constant pressure from biters paired with your use of math, experimentation and intimate knowledge of the games mechanics just getting you by with the skin of your teeth is so fun to watch, I work long hours at a desk and this deathworld series makes time fly, its a shame I've finally caught up can now have to wait until the next one comes out
Thanks! Check the factorio movies section in my playlists. It contains 2 full 3,5h movies edited similar to this one, without narration but text, so probably even better suited to "stealth watch" at the office ;)
I am loving this playthrough! I felt that for real when you tried to sneak through the walls and the bots ripped them up. Really excited to see the next episode, I look forward to this every week!
Man this series is awesome! This episode really hit home the rollercoaster were on here. Please keep it going for as long as possible! Every episode has been entertaining.

I hope to assimilate the iron patch fully into my base before its oil runs out, but yeah it's not good to have too many things which you need to manually keep an eye on

Not gonna lie, that shot of the heart of your iron production coming back to life was a sight for sore eyes. Make this ol timer Factorio player sigh in pleasure. The factory must grow~ I'm already looking forward to next week~
Man, huge thanks to you. I've lost my job recently, and have been drowning in Factorio for the time being, and you've showed how to actually play the game. I don't like copying things off the internet usually, but the elegance and skill in your builds and how to handle threats helped me to consistently beat the death world seeds for now. Please keep this series going, I can't wait till you show the power of lategame stuff, as Artillery and Uranium!
Nice to hear (about factorio, not about losing your job...) Bluntly copying blueprints of the internet is quite a difference from integrating new ideas and concepts into your own playthroughs, so don't feel bad about it! To kill some time, I've got a couple more DeathWorld-tips oriented longer format videos you may enjoy ua-cam.com/video/DDYr0U6HUmw/v-deo.html (and followup found in description) and ua-cam.com/video/ZwGRl-bp1W4/v-deo.html
I know you get many comments like this, but this is a truly fascinating series. When I saw the first video all I could think was 'This is absolutely impossible', and here we are on episode 10. I've not watching this video yet, I want to sit down and be properly invested in it, but I'm sure it's a good one. Thanks for this series Michael, I'm glad you're keeping it up

Not gonna lie, that shot of the heart of your iron production coming back to life was a sight for sore eyes. Make this ol timer Factorio player sigh in pleasure. The factory must grow~ I'm already looking forward to next week~
This is my absolute favourite factorio series.
Great use of the game soundtrack to underscore that ending narration, loving this series
Nice to hear (about factorio, not about losing your job...)
Bluntly copying blueprints of the internet is quite a difference from integrating new ideas and concepts into your own playthroughs, so don't feel bad about it!
To kill some time, I've got a couple more DeathWorld-tips oriented longer format videos you may enjoy

@@MichaelHendriks oh wow... Thanks a lot for this! Now I can spend even more time conquering spaghetti setups in my base :)
An alarm for the oil at the new iron ore outpost would be nice
I raised my hands in excitement when you won your expansion xD
Btw I though it would be more completed, but as author said, paining is everything and he knows how to play Factorio for sure :)
I know you get many comments like this, but this is a truly fascinating series. When I saw the first video all I could think was 'This is absolutely impossible', and here we are on episode 10.
I've not watching this video yet, I want to sit down and be properly invested in it, but I'm sure it's a good one.
Thanks for this series Michael, I'm glad you're keeping it up
"I want to sit down and be properly invested in it"--> The right way to do it! There are a few cool night-scenes so make sure to reduce ambient light around you a little :)
I don't think I've clicked on a thumbnail this quick before. LOVE this series, it got me back into factorio!
This is the best factorio series I have seen in a long time. Made me want to go back and try this myself.
Man, I got chills when that iron started flowing...
This series is fire
Really liking this series, looking forward to the next episode!
Every time i wake up you've uploaded, and its the first thing i do on fridays without hesitation
I'm really enjoying this series, and also your editing. Please keep these episodes coming! :)
Because of these videos I bought the game and started playing, honestly best purchase ive done
Jesus Yeesssssss. I love this series. I'm always so excited to see new episode!
This is a work of art. I don't know how, michael, but you are truly awesome.
