I am positive that you have enriched the artistic minds of so many people. You are an amazing artist and such a gift to so many people!!!!!! You are the most benevolent artist that I've come across on UA-cam in many years. You deserve a metal of honor for your countless hours of contribution to those of us who are thirsty for artistic instructions.
Thank you for your videos. I appreciate them so much. I started coloring after I was assaulted in 2011 by a home intruder. Coloring not only changed my life ... it saved my life. I'm not an artist. I'm not naturally talented in any way. But videos like this have increased my enjoyment and understanding of the medium 1000%. I'm not yet to the 'frame it and hang it' phase, but I plan to keep trying until I get there. I want to be able to look at something beautiful and vibrant and colorful I created that was born from a dark place I did not expect to survive. So thank you for taking the time to share your gift with us. Thank you for narrating them in a way that feels like you're sitting and having tea with a friend who is showing you how to do something amazing but not being condescending or talking down to you. I just feel comfy and happy and secure watching your vids and trying your techniques as I listen. You really are invaluable. Thank you so much.
I was sexually assaulted by an intruder too (7yrs ago) and I tried coloring back then but I was too depressed to do anything. 7 yes later, I'm claiming my life back and it's time for me to go back into doing what I love.
Thank you for another amazing tutorial! I am learning so much from watching your instructions. I agree with Tam, you do deserve a medal of honor for your countless hours of developing these videos AND sharing them so generously. A thousands thank you's!!!!!

Someone in my class at The Villages rec ctr asked how to color a face on Monday. Well then tonight I find this! Will put in my phone email so when we meet up again I can let her watch it. My sister and I told her about your informative tutorials. Thanks. Susie
Thanks Lori, I watched this with great interest. That girl's skin really glowed by time you finished. The application of the grey for shadow really did the trick. I haven't broken down contouring and shadow into separate steps previously, but then I've usually had a photo reference to judge the colour. Now I'm looking forward to see what tricks you use to age progress her face! Thanks also for the downloadable charts; very useful!

When you are adding the nectar here, I see where you are putting it, but I am trying to understand why you only put it where you do. What purpose is the nectar serving? Is it part of the contouring? (btw, your portrait vids are helping me greatly!!! tyvm!!!). I want to understand this process very well. Thanks!!! Coloring has changed my life as well. I have a chronic illness and had to stop working 5 years ago, that led to a deep depression. I started to dig my way out of the hole I was in when I discovered this world of adult coloring. I love this I was about to ask you about skin tones thank you so much I got all the previous colours from your video the Faber Castell polychromos I got the all the colours on the list 😂😂😂😂😂 now I can start practising thank you 💕💕
Yes, Mika I totally understand how you feel. I finally found a book that had good ethnic pictures and everything was working out great except the paper went really funky on me. I thought it was just me, but I asked other coloring book artists how they felt about it and they all agreed. Unfortunatly I colored the really good one directly into the book. I know it's not fair that books don't really have great dark skin people in it. It's one of my favorite skin tones to do so I promise I will get back to it. BTW. I love your skin tone. Your a beautiful lady. So you can start playing around. You have some red undertones. Dark skin either has red or yellow (golden) undertones. Sometimes it's mixed in different areas.
Thank you Lori I have used your demo and instruction sheets and would like some feedback please. Will email my picture from Hanna Kaelzon Jewelry Box colouring book. Your channel is unique just love it.💓

Hi Helina, Oy Vey... I don't know what I ate for breakfast this morning LOL... Back then I wasn't as organized with my videos as I am now. This has probably been asked and answered before but what electric pencil sharpener do you use? I have always read not to use an electric pencil sharpener on Prismacolor. You are a fantastic teacher!
I did a whole video on electric pencil sharpeners. I talk about the truth and myths. Actually an electric sharpener is much better because it takes pressure off the core. ua-cam.com/video/nwUndnSePZM/v-deo.html
Thanks so much. It looks like you dipped the unsharpened end of your pencils in something. What is it and does it serve a purpose. I obsesse over little stuff like that sorry.
Contour shapes the face so if you want her to have a thin face you would darken the edges so that it gives the appearance of going in. Shadow is created by external light being deprived in an area. Contour colors would be dark shades of skin tones. Shadows are grey or grey brown. With red you can use indigo or black. So you can have a light skin, high cheek boned woman with a strong shadow on the right side of her face. Great Question Dena.
This is the 1st time, I'm really trying hard on the right way, to color in a face. Only thing that caught me off guard was the grey you added. When you color listed & step listed, no grey was added on the sheet. Other than that, think I got it. We'll see!
