- Smallville Screening and Q&A- Comic-Con favorite Smallville returns, as showrunners Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson join cast members Allison Mack (The Ant Bully), Erica Durance (House of the Dead), Cassidy Freeman (Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee), Justin Hartley (Gemini Division) and new series star Callum Blue (The Tudors), who will be playing the villainous Zod, to talk about the year ahead, answer fan questions and give an exclusive sneak peek at clips from season nine. Award-winning comic book writer, Emmy-nominated film and television writer/producer, and Smallville alum Jeph Loeb (Heroes) will moderate the session. From Tollin/Robbins Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Smallville will air Fridays at 8:00 PM this fall on The CW, premiering September 25. Smallville: The Complete Eighth Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Hi Def August 25. Tom Welling's first appearance at Comic Con!

Justin Hartley is really funny. His small side comments were Hilarious. He was constantly fidgeting, it was cute.

Probably because she is no longer on the show, and Kristin wasn't in the panel... it was pretty much defnitive she was leaving and never coming back, not even as a guest appearance.

4:18 True answer: make more money! If you can't pay an actor more when he wants it, or threatens to leave, you let him direct & produce. It allows you to pay him more without paying him more as an actor: a paper trick. He becomes 3 line items on your budget, even if 2 are bogus, &...it strokes his ego. Starting Welling Prod's around Hellcats probably figured in there as well. I don't blame Tom for optimizing his net; playing an icon doesn't always bode well for one's subsequent career.

The guy that asked about the glasses was a good question. We know how clark looks , everybody does. How can people not figure out hes superman when that time comes?
I have to agree! There are so many more germane questions that I wish could have been asked. There were unanswered questions from prior seasons. One in particular, what became of Martha Kent? Last I saw she became a representative in Washington. Is she still alive? One never hears about her again. Perry White was in an episode a few seasons ago. Doesn't he become editor at The Planet? Strange writing -- in my opinion.

i doubt it since they are trying to get in line with the mythos now and Oliver/Green Arrow ends up married to Dinah/Black Canary in the comics.

How come no one asked why the Doomsday fight was so short, or anything about the character in general.

@heason not all of em most of em. i wulda asked some more bout the show not the characters themseleves. like when is clark actually gonna embrace the superman story or when are the JSA going to come in.

What do the DPs, gaffers and make-up artists do to make Cassidy Freeman so unbecoming on the show?!!? On this amatuer video from Comicon, she appears to be one georgeous woman. I know "Tess" has to look like she's conflicted and fighitng mixed loyalties, but - man! - you've got to work hard or plain flub-up to supress what I'm seeing here. Her, Allison and Justin did spectacular on this panel; they're great ambassadors for the show.
