Sir my question is what is difference between independent clause and sentence?

Sentence refers to general structure which can include a phrase and clause. While an independent clause is itself a sentence that needn't any other clause or phrase to complete its meaning. Most importantly, a sentence can be affirmative, negative, interrogative as well as simple, compound and complex. Clause is part of that intricate and complex structure of a sentence.
As far as my knowledge is concerned independent clause is a sentence in itself because it gives complete meaning. Interestingly, the definition of a sentence is group of which gives complete meaning is called as sentence.
