I live in Da Nang. It is very cheap. The issues you need to deal with are always checking to see you are not getting ripped off, the lack of sanitation, the countries construction is that of a bad DIY (There are high voltage power lines 3 feet off the ground and every government office or utility, etc. you pay a small bribe or they will never do it right for you. Get an all in one apartment with everything included and be very careful of who you buy from and what they have and at what price. After a few months you will get screwed over a bit but you will get it down. It's not that bad when the guy sells a beer at the bar to a local for .$80 and $1 to you. its still way cheaper than America. There are also lots of American restaurants and the nicer the restaurant the more honest they are, generally. Always buy where the price is on the menu and check your receipt. Find a few good clean places you like, tip the lady a couple of bucks (this is a no tip society) and they will take care of you. Stay away from the sidewalk food stands unless its like roast duck or pork where you can see what it is otherwise you are taking your chances.

well, electricity is normal price i think. I lived in France recently. Me and my wife we pay 75e/month. And after a year, they calculate then somehow i have to pay them 1000e more! we lived in an studio of 25m2 and only use heater in winter. So 60$/month with air conditioner running non stop is quite cheap i think.
