- Emptying our Land Rover Defender for a new beginning. We are removing useless stuff we have stored in our modified Defender camper after all those years enjoying the outdoors with it. A good tidying up was necessary to have a complete view of what we carry in our 4x4.
Big job to start 2022 and a lot more to come.

As an adventure Motorcyclist we have become masters in packing only what we need. All lubricants and sprays come in smaller sizes and of course you can restock along the way.
Over the years we have really reduced all things to the minimum.
However we are also preparing our own 4wd adventure vehicle so always find your presentations extremely informative and enjoyable to watch.
Many thanks
Thanks for your message!
Catch can filter? Maybe a coffee filter would so in a pinch? Fuel filter? Change it before a big trip.
Air filter? Maybe just use compressor to blow out a dirty one if it gets clogged 👍
:)
In the words of an old Irish blessing,
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
Happy travels in 2022 🙏
Love it! Thank you 🙂 happy travel to you too
Best wishes for an adventurous 2022, it’s takes effort and time to produce these videos, so…. all ads are watched so that Off track family can get out there more often and test drive products and feedback to all of us what works and what does not. Love the channel!
Thanks a lot for your message! 😊
Sorting out need vs might need is always hard when on the road and like to be self sufficient off track and not be stranded. My poor jeep carries her own spare parts, oils, tools them my comfort comes next lol- nice job repacking
We have the same priority :)
That is coincidence, this weekend I just made a list of all the stuff that I need to pack for my expedition vehicle. Thanks for the video, greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇨🇭
Thanks :)
Amazing video vlog, absolutely I like it.😍😍😍😍
Thanks!
It always amazes me when i empty out my truck/car/camper in the amount of stuff we all carry around , you guys are not to bad , like you say you will get some travel size sprays and oil ,it will go a long way ... eh
Thanks for the message!
Good job !!! Joli travail 🙂Effectivement, pas grand chose à mettre de coté....
Merci :)
Pro-tip; lose the toolboxes (metal and plastic) and get a good tool roll. I get it, I'm OCD about tools too. But if you keep the tools down to the most common and keep them in a good canvas roll you will reduce the weight and size/volume down drastically. And because you have less volume you can keep the weight even lower. Best wishes!
It's in our plan :) you have any recommendation of good ones?
@@offtrackfamily Hands down, no kidding, honestly, this is the best. It's made in America so it might be expensive for you to get but you know the old adage; "buy once, cry once" ;-) ua-cam.com/video/UNSt8K1QsR4/v-deo.html
Tous mes voeux de pour 2022, beaucoup de balades en 4x4 et surtout , en cette période, une très bonne santé.😉
Tous nos voeux également, merci pour le message. :)
And there you see again ... As soon as the boss takes it in hand, there is so much space in the Defender all at once😂😂😂😂😂
😄
This is what I did before fixing the beck qorter of chassis. And belive ot or not it is still empty.
Cheers.🍷&🍺
Cheers! :)
I still miss the gunrack😊
;)
Nice video
Thanks!
Happy New Year 💫💫💫
:)
That is my plan continues. Just bring as little as possible and keep it minimalistic. Luckily my payload of my Unimog is a bit higher (max 4750kg) but I want to keep it around 4ton max
Great plan!
Bit late to the Party. Happy New year.
Good tidy up and guess it's good to know if any thing needs fixing or replacing before the upcoming years adventures.
Thanks for the message and happy new year!
makes me feel better about the amount of Junk in my small daily hatch-back
😅
Great vid. You're way more conservative than I'd be! All purpose grease replace ALL your greases...
Coolant? Not unless I'm going to Alaska!
Funnel? 1 good funnel 🤷
Thanks for the message!
happy new year family.
Thanks!
Minute 11:26 😅
I love your Videos! Keep going
😅. thanks!
Sounds like an exciting new year ahead :) When it comes to what you need to carry, do ye really need to carry all the different oils? Oil can be quite heavy and if everything is fully topped up before you leave then maybe just a small amount for emergencies. Also the same with the filters, in Europe there is really no danger of getting bad fuel or a lot of dust blocking up air filters. And we are all guilty of carrying around far more heavy tools than we ever need. However, i do get the idea of better to be prepared! My worst fault is carrying around lots of fuel, which i rarely need. On the subject of the ads, i agree that it's not a lot of time and is a small price to pay for excellent content and entertainment. I will share something a young car enthusiast from the US told me, apparently if you watch just 20 seconds of the ad the content creator gets paid just as if you had watched the full ad. Might be easier to convince people to watch twenty seconds! Happy New Year from Ireland :)
Thanks for the message! Very exciting year ahead ;) many things will be re-thought so might also review the oils and tools we carry. Cheers!
Happy New Year - looks like you need a trailer
It was brought up in our discussion but it isn't for us, we will manage without ;)
Happy New Year! I don’t blame Defender owners for carrying loads of spares and oils 😂😂😂
😄
Merci pour vos vidéos.... Je viens d'acheter un def etje m'inspire bcp de votre expérience..
Aviez-vous une version française de vos vidéos ?
👍
🙂
Elevating roof next? 😀
Maybe... maybe not :)
Bonjour, très belle vidéo. Dommage de la faire en anglais. Mais qu'es ce que vous allez faire a votre def du coup ? Merci et bonne année
Merci pour le message. Après autant d années (quasi 10ans) on va revoir un peu l aménagement :)
Nearly a year on, what’s your verdict on your LOF clutch ?
Will soon make a full review but in short we are very happy with the clutch kit :)
Great, I'm the type of person that carry everithing and don't use ever, so about every 4 or 6 month lay dwon all the stuff and choose what carry in my jeep becasue things broken, but cant replace entire car on side of the road... PS WD40 for me it's like water, never go outside without!!! :D ;) Ciao!!!!
WD40 is the ultimate thing ;)
Are you going to do a back seat delete?
Nope as we are a family of 4
Every "overlander" needs to do this. I have seen the trend is to be burdened down with more stuff and more stuff!!! The whole idea in the beginning was to get out, enjoy and be one with nature and feel good with what you have. Now it is saturated with buy this and buy that, placate sponsors and just weigh the rig down. I get it being comfortable while being out for a long time but seems people are getting away from the whole idea of less is more. Nice job and Happy New Year.
It's difficult to know what's usefull and not without going out there. And if you haven't set your priorities between comfort vs tools & stuff & knowledge to get you out of a bad situation, this is where it can go wrong. I agree, the main purpose of overlanding is exploring & enjoying fun time outdoors, and it should always be that :)
Pop up roof coming…
Haven't decided yet ;)
Have to make room for a crib and a stroller. . . .
Family upgrade :) congrats!
@@offtrackfamily Oh! I meant you not us! :0
@@offtrackfamily Or perhaps your secret is the addition of a dog!?
Haha sorry misunderstood there! 😅 no more babies for me ;) neither a dog ;)
Way too much! The lr engine is a puny 2.5 litre hardly enough to pull that elephant. Any by the way Greta has been looking for that landy 😂
Don't really need to keep power tools with you as well..
They'll stay in for the moment ;)
Excuse me this maybe stupid question, but, except sentimentaly, why don’t you get the new défender ?
No specific reason to replace it, it's still going well and we know it well after all those years :)
When is the baby due 😉
mmmh... let's say never ;)
Sounds like an Alucab is on the way ? Zzzz
Or maybe not ;)
Ha ha 😂 just testing, Happy New year to you all .
You’re carrying way to many tools. You only need a small amount and not even power tools. 99% are the same sizes excluding the drive shaft. 🤷♂️
All the different sizes did help us many many times so difficult for us to reduce ;)
